Monday Picks
PoolPimps @ SuperbPool - 4-3 SuperbPool
Beginning of the season if you asked me who I thought would win, I'd have said PoolPimps immediately. SuperbPool was ugly at the start, blowing 3-1 leads, not getting anything done, their only win was a 4-3 win where they almost blew ANOTHER 3-1 lead against LPL. Now they've won 4 straight, Liz has this team jump-started, the key matchup here I think is going to be TRU_55 against either scorpeo_kahn or masterslope. Those 2 from PoolPimps are 2 who can get wins if you need them to, and TRU, all-star, he's someone SuperbPool has to rely on for a win, and he'll give them a big one if he plays game 7 at 3-3.
EZ8Pool @ HappyPool - 5-2 EZ8Pool
EZ8, 3-way tie in the AL Atlantic, they really only need this 1 win to take that division thanks to the forfeit they'll get from NCP. But they also know there are 2 teams named StraightShots and CueKeepers who want them to lose, and will be ready to jump on them if that happens. The key matchup here is going to be l3illyl2asta and kittytat, also both All-Stars, they have both been practically lights-out this season, and it'll be quite interesting to see how that turns out if they show up. But remember, there's still a guy by the name of xlx_mvp_xlx who hangs around in EZ8, if HP can take it to 3-3, he's likely playing, and in all my YPool experience, I can tell you in many team tourneys he too has been Mr. Reliable. EZ8's staff is just too much for HappyPool, but they had a nice season, and that upset against PoolFighters? Don't forget it, because you never know when they can surprise you.
ElitePool @ Black&Silver - 5-2 ElitePool
Black Silver needs a win, and they really really really want a win badly. Unfortunately, like Ace said, crypt may not be showing, and there's an all-star line-up of players on that ElitePool team, from scotter, to skratch, misterlucky, and saving the best for last: Brandon. That's 4 wins right there practically. The Key Matchup here: Brandon against Crypt6uardian if he shows up. If not, Tooth. ElitePool is looking to go 9-2, they want that #1 Seed in the Playoffs, I don't see them losing any other matches (What, XPool's gonna beat 'em? Cmon) and Pool Outlaws know full well how dangerous ElitePool is, in fact that's who ElitePool is still chasing for the conference. An Outlaw loss this week would tie it all up, but that's a story for another time.
Big League Tour
In the cam jump, not as smooth, spotlight on the round 1 match between poolfreak and lord_simpson. For those playing the home game that's Gary (Gaz). Here's what I know: He was dq'ed for apparently telling Gary "[insert word here] you", then went on to call Luis jealous and a "[insert same word] spic" after Luis had DQ'ed him. Now on to what I heard from JJ: Gary started it by calling Ajay an indian or something, and it's not the first time he's pulled something like that. Then Ajay retaliated. Either way, Ajay got boxed for 14 days, gary lost to BBM's Scott next round, and Scott lost to Pascal because he's legit, heh. Anyways, finals were between EP's Brandon, he can play on cam your thoughts Kevin? And PF's corey_man_ Both finals inter-conference matches, and Brandon is able to come away with the win, if I remember correctly it was 2-0. If not 2-1 obviously, but who's counting? It's the 3rd week in a row the National League has swept both tourneys, their 7th straight win, 5th time the NL has swept the Tour, and the first time ElitePool has picked up a win. On their way to the finals first Brandon took out BlackSilver's Babe_Lisa, then iced the red-hot hotshot Glenno, next up was Hill (lucky it wasn't me or pita grrrr :P) then BeerBaller MJ, and finally corey. Corey on the other hand went through Regul8or aka_chris_soccer (the same chris that started 3-0 with luckypool), then teammate aka_Mr_Nick, then PoolMaster aka_i_havethep0wer..oh whoops, got too caught up in the "aka" junk, scratch that, then BeerBall captain Pascal, before losing to Brandon in the finals.
