Week Four Pickies
MONDAY
Pool Dreamers @ Cue Keepers - From below: OK so uh... I'm kinda 0-3 here but come on... I'm picking leagues I think will upset a better league. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all in the week, other times... It's just not the one I said it would be. This time, I think I got a good one. Right out of the gate - Pool Dreamers and Cue Keepers. I think the Dreamers may win this match now that they'll have everyone, and they gain a fairly good player in vishu, from BritPool. Really outside of Pool Masters in the first place I don't think there are gonna be any scares for the better leagues this week, and I'm not saying Dreamers have too good a chance either, but they have the best chance of anyone. Keepers... You never know if Mick is gonna be around, they haven't really impressed yet... Wait this looks exactly like last season! IF PLD wins, they win a tight, fluky, 4-3 match. I'll make them my official pick just to show a little faith in my Upset Watch... But let's just say Week 4 could be an all-chalk week.
Cheap Shotz @ United Nations of Yahoo - Cheap Shotz I believe have finally arrived in MLP this season, even though it took a week or 2. UNY has a couple shooters that can give CZ problems, and if a player gets the right roll or the cue stops in the right place, it could be a close match... But I like Cheap Shotz to win 5-2 here. Just too much for UNY to work against.
TUESDAY
Lucky Shots @ Malditos - ...Malditos 6-1. Next!
BritPool @ Pool Pals - Again, from below: BritPool @ Pool Pals - Tuesday night. That's great. You've got a BP team that just upset Poolfiction, and a team that is very solid, against a tough Pool Pals team, that needed a timer in game 7 to sneak by BNR (granted, BNR's game 7 option wasn't really a threat, but still.) Pool Pals are a talented team in their own right, with Rah and Bam heading up the back end of their matches, usually. When they meet up with the likes of heavymetalisbest (I'd give him co-player of the week if I believed in having 2 POTW winners by the way), and BritPool as a whole... I can't help but notice the two leagues are almost carbon copies of each other. That = Great match. As for a result... I like BritPool in this one, 4-3.
Pool Legends @ Pool Loverz - PZ started off strong, now it's time to come back down to Earth, my friends. Pool Legends are too deep, too good, 5-2 Legends, if PZ is lucky.
WEDNESDAY
Pool Masters @ Poolfiction - How long is Jamie gonna take a break for? That much is unknown. What IS known is he has said when he comes back, he's still PFN. That's good news long-term, but what about short-term? Against a better league, PFN may be a very good "upset" candidate. But I think their depth will prevail over PM's... Well... Lack of depth, but they'll still make a match of this. Poolfiction wins 4-3.
THURSDAY
Hot Shotz @ Pool Pimps - Like most matches... Pool Pimps too good, too deep, Hot Shotz won't win many this season, and they certainly shouldn't win this one. If MLP had a draft, that'd be a good thing. MLP doesn't, so it isn't. HS 0-4 after this week when they lose 6-1.
8Ball Runners @ Break And Run - Well, BNR had their best chance for a big win but squandered it away when a delay tactic went bad against Pool Pals... Maybe a little confidence in your players will help next time. Now they play the pure powerhouse that is this season's 8BR team... I give 'em almost no chance. 8BR breaks, and runs, all over BNR. 6-1.
And of course, I'll probably miss about a half-dozen of these picks, but that's what I'm here for! To miss picks! :D
