Monday Week 2 Results

LOL Jokers Alley sucks. First they bitch about PO using aimers, and now DP. Shame, if they were in D-II they wouldn't be...Oh wait yes they would, because they'd still get their sorry asses kicked.

DIVISION I

#10 Jokers aLOLey vs. #3 Dream Pool

Game 1 - Pretty easy game here, Mr Fantastic left 5 of dale's stripes on the table, gets an easy run at the end, all there was to it.
Game 2 - Dan looking for a little redemption after last week's loss, this time he goes against paris_in_flamez, getting his first 7v7 action of the season. Early on it looked like Dan would be able to take it right to Paris and run him off the table. Well, a lack of easy position didn't help him when he got down to 2 stripes. He attempted a force shot, knocking the 14 off the right rail, then a solid, and force it into the top right... It's Dan of course he made it! Easy finish including a cross-table shot on the 8 to the bottom left, smoked him. 2-0 DP.
Game 3 - Here, the game started slow. mr.blunts got ball in hand midway through the game from stu and had a pretty good setup for a run... He started with a 9-14 combo to the bottom right, but he made it slightly harder on himself than it had to be. He left himself with a shot on the 15, with the 15 in the dead center of the table and a long shot into the bottom left. No problem though, then he gets the 8, JKR on the board but down 2-1. At least the dick was the only win.
Game 4 - More of a safety game that progressed quickly, and easily enough in the end dp.player finishes out to beat bluebunny. You can just tell by these descripions I'm bored with this match :\ 3-1 DP.
Game 5 - So t3ch brought in to try and save it while jeremy doyle looks to clinch it. Long boring safety game, I lost interest knowing JD should win anyways, I decided to get some cereal, play with my cats, and got back in time to see JD make a couple balls and the 8. t3ch got all pissy, looks like JKR's gonna be the shithole of D-I this season. 4-1. He left with a little temper tantrum, typical JKR. Sounds like aldo was the only thing keeping them looking competent. Since he left, look at the JOKE Alley :)
Game 6 - king.striker beat jkr.marky to make it 5-1.
Game 7 - Mick beats jkr.shelly. 6-1, JKR sucks.

So, DreamPool demolishes the running joke of D-I. Jokers yet again made shitholes of themselves, with t3ch being bitter over his own fuckups, mr.blunts making a comment about the only DP loss being on cam... korn_fanatic_lp whoever the fuck that is making acomment about cam. If it's Paris in flamez like someone told me, he needs to realize he played in Superb Pool which gives him no right to whine about cheating, especially aimers. 0-2, 3/11, 1-6 tonight, they officially blow. Hopefully they just quit mid-season or even after S7. I mean, they're D-II at best anyways... DP could move up as well. PO and PF certainly don't have gimmes this week.

DIVISION II

#4 Cue Keepers @ #6 Wild Angels

Game 1 - Game got off to a VERY quick start. Beardiehard went for a run early on but couldn't quite convert it for the Keepers. After a bundle of misses, and a lucky leave off a miss for uslander, lander got ball in hand and proceeded to SCRATCH! Added backspin for some dumb reason... bear escapes with the win 1-0 Keepers.
Game 2 - mon e hoopz went for a quick run as well, but missed with 2 solids left on a bank attempt on the 2, trying to go top rail to bottom middle. po0l_player horribly messed up a gimme and mon e went to it again. However, no angle on the 8. 2nd chance for po0l to give CKP a 2-0 lead, plays a safety but OH mon_e_hoopz goes off the bottom rail, side-spins the cueball right to the 8ball, 8ball goes top right, match tied 1-1.
Game 3 - Only slightly slower than the last game, bosslvlan decided, like 4 others before him, he was gonna try to run it early. However, a lack of english on the 7ball (his 2nd to last solid) cost him dearly and he left himself no chance for the 5. thunder.struck gained a very decisive advantage despite boss avoiding bih, and it was over until he too forgot english, this on his final ball. Much better look at the 8 but he tried to safety. He left an easy shot for bossman and another weird win in this match, 2-1 CKP. So far these 3 games have sucked, except the end to that 2nd game.
Game 4 - A lot of misses here as well, for both pauldenham and partslady. Paul totally sucked up an easy gimme position shot. using the wrong side english along with his backspin. No worries though, with the 8ball on the left rail he banked off the top rail with the cue, and drained that same 8ball in the bottom left pocket. It's 3-1. Judy the first player this season to play 2 matches, and she's got an 0-for. CKP picks up their 10th win of the season, technically of course.
Game 5 - WA put up FearRomeo, one of only 2 winners from last week (pimpin.tactics being the other) for the save attempt. pink_lady69_98 was called on by Rob to clinch it for CKP. Both players favored the slow, safety method, not wanting to blow the game on an early run attempt. Pink managed to avoid giving up bih consistently while Romeo primarily controlled the pace. Romeo downed the 14-ball in the bottom right, all the way from around the bottom left pocket, banking with side english off the top rail. After that it was again back to safeties for him, and escapes for pink. The endgame was simply one of those games where they play piss-poorly and you just wish you could sit in and get the damn thing over with. Mercifully pink gives up the bih and Romeo eventually wins. 3-2, CKP still up.
Game 6 - Comeback attempt still alive, it's wa.stephen's time to try and repeat Romeo's success, and hopefully in a decent game. afrothun11 was sent up to try and clinch again. Stephen went straight for the run. He also had a very good look at it. He got PERFECT position after dropping the 15 in the bottom right, used the power and touch of backspin just enough to get a clean shot on the 9, easy shot on the 8 follows and just like that it's 3-3 going to 7!
Game 7 - QUEEN_4_EVER for the Angels, Rob_76 the Captain trying to kill the rally for CueKeepers. First 3 balls potted were solids, which were taken by Queen. All the balls were on the right side of the table, and most of them near the bottom right pocket. That eventually spread out vertically but still nothing past the middle pockets. Queen nailed a tough shot from the right side to the top middle, but after making a gimme combo along the bottom rail to bottom right, she left herslef just above the 3ball. She banked THAT in off the left rail with the cue, into bottom right of course, but still had a bank off the left rail, shooting for the 5ball which is on the top rail, about an inch from the top right pocket. She's almost directly under it on the bottom rail. Shot, rail, off the mark. Rob knocked the 11 in bottom right, the 14 in top right, 12 bottom right, 10 bottom center, backspun up over the 8, that goes easily into the bottom middle and Rob holds them off. CKP wins 4-3.

Great win for CKP, equal effort to the Angels here in those late games. But then again, you look at how god-awful those early games were and you see plenty of chances for a team to have run away with the match early. I don't think WA had any real captaining flaws, they saved QUEEN for the final game, another pressure situation (despite failing last week and now this week) but I think, based on these 2 weeks, that this team is going to rely heavily on her. I'd be very surprised to see her play any earlier than game 5, and rightfully so. I'd guess she'll have maybe 7, 8, or 9 wins all season, but for the most part they'll be huge ones. For the Keepers, they almost let it slip away but they too almost blew it wide open. Rob with that old-school philosophy the captain plays last, and in this case it doesn't hurt the captain is arguably the top player. They were a bit fortunate here overall, but 2-0 you can't argue against that can you?

DIVISION III

Regul8ors (1-1 [7-7, 7 forfeit wins, 7 forfeit losses])

Bad Ass Ballers (0-2 [0-14, 14 forfeit losses])

Notes: Malditos and Quez have replaced Week 1 no-shows Pool Pals and New Castle. No replacement named yet for BAB so I will leave them on here as opposed to the "BYE" listed. Quez do not get any honors from last season's performance, missing the Playoffs narrowly, and they will in fact start off anew in D-III in the Week 2 finale against EZ8 in Bad Apples. Malditos play Pool Loverz in the Wednesday nightcap, at the Malditos lobby, El Jardin. As far as I know this would be the first MLP event hosted in a Spanish room. 4 matches Tuesday included an 8:00 double-header with D-II and D-III. Featured match? BNR @ SS, we'll see if BNR was a flash in the pan Week 1, or if they can sustain it against another D-II team, however subpar they may be.

Monday Picks

Life as a spectator for about 20 weeks. This should be fun, assuming of course Sophie doesn't continue to trip and demand me banned from all events. Heh, possible. Anyways, picks.

DIVISION I

#3 DreamPool @ #10 Jokers Alley - Jokers need to get their heads screwed on straight before I give them any respect. What, did JJ get accused of being an aimer or something by that moron who got boxed last week? Oh, he just won cam tourney... So much for that. DreamPool avoided an upset last week but no worries here, they win 5-2.

DIVISION II

#4 Cue Keepers @ #6 Wild Angels - Angels took a tough one on the chin at the hands of XPool, while the Keepers were ready but won by forfeit. I should like the Keepers here, but then again that's flawed logic! Angels should be looking to take out last week on CKP, and if they do they'll win 4-3. I think they will.
