In controversial fashion, a rerack of a game (which I guess should've ended up in Scott winning by DQ anyways, I got it wrong, oh well :s), and Cheap Shotz strike #4 before CJP can get into the match, and heeeeere's how it happened!

CZ_emotional.death - PFN_JamyO - Bit of a safety battle but scott never really seemed comfortable. A few silly fouls and Jammy was able to take advantage of them. Jammy did make a poor choice when he tried to run though. A difficult rail-runner attempt misses, and scott played a perfect safety sticking the cue in amongst 3 stripes on the right-hand rail. He would look to take advantage and run 8 straight balls himself. Scott, though, would get stuck with little to no shot, but he DID combo the 15-ball to block the top-left pocket. Then Jammy, with seemingly no shot, makes a brilliant safety, rolling off the 6 to make the 15 and then blocking a sure run. Jammy STILL left with no easy shot after scott came so close to making a cuebank off the right rail to tap in the 13, but it stays hanging in the bottom middle pocket. Scott off the top rail, makes that 13-ball but the 8 goes with it in the top right, and PoolFiction is now 5-0 in this season's World Series.

CZ_xXxXxXxXxXx_NuCCa_NaV_XxXxXxXxXx - PFN_divine_threat - Mr. Clutch this post-season going #2 as Kerry changes everything around here, still with so much available at the back end of the lineup. Navin JUST leaves the 10 and Josh basically says "OK your run skills against mine, see who wins", after that an easy finish for Navin, and Cheap Shotz have their 1st win of the Season 9 World Series, they tie this one up 1-1.

CZ_xlx_ketan_xlx - PFN_outlaw.joker - Ketan goes for the run, fresh off a PRO win over UNY right out of the gate. he makes it look oh so easy, just came off the left rail enough to get a shot on his final solid, makes the 2, 8 goes bottom middle, and it's a 2-1 CZ lead, their first LEAD of the World Series. A great job by Ketan as usual.

CZ_scottish.king - PFN_xlx_s_p_g_xlx - I didn't see much of the game because of other stuff... But SPG made 7 straight solids, then the 8ball BANKS IT off the top rail, bottom middle pocket, and it's 2-2 in Match 2!

CZ_IMHIGHER - PFN_shad0w_0f_decepti0n - Jammy still having trouble sending his tape, but Scott I don't think is around either. Meanwhile Jamie takes a small shot at a run. Makes the 1 bottom middle, then rolls the cueball up to make the 9-2 combo top middle on the same shot. That would be all for him on this turn. Mickey would scratch though with the game in hand, and Jamie would steal the game back and give PFN a 3-2 lead. On the hill in the World Series... MAYBE.

CZ_wizard22_ - PFN_runner.ryry - Mickey probably suspects Jammy will be DQ'ed, so he'll save Boo for last. kerry KNOWS Jammy's tape won't make it... Anyways kind of a fast-moving safety battle, some more useful safeties rather than a tap here and there. Remember this is likely a must-win for ryry. Ryan misses a gimme, but Hart FOULS when all he had to do was touch a solid! Then Ryan goes underneath the 7ball, so he can't do anything off HIS make! hart gets another tune. Hart gets a chance at redemption, and this could actually clinch the match. Hart makes the 3 top middle, but that 7ball comes off the bottom rail NO SHOT! So the safeties begin! Basically gonna come down to who makes the big mistake first. You had to figure the World Series would come down to this. Ryan could not come off the left rail about a half-dozen times to get the 14, but FINALLY he does. And now HE claims the upper hand! but then Hart makes a couple nice shots of his own, FINALLY gets an easy shot, makes it, and the 8, 3-3! But now Jammy timed out, Scott deleted his tape, so it's actually WTF knows... and after some deliberation... They will rerack game 1, so CZ has a 3-2 lead, through 5 complete games.

CZ_emotional.death - PFN_JamyO - ROUND TWO! - Slow safety fest... of course. All the remaining 9 balls, including the 8, are huddled in the bottom right corner. It then became a "backwards assault" style game. Can really only liken it to the endgame in Chess. It's just whoever sees further into the game will win. Scott gets a chance to cuebank off the rail rail and push the 11 in bottom right... NO he fouls off the 8. So jammy rolls off the 6 and makes it for scott. Remember if scott wins, we play Thursday night. So scott now, blocked partially by the 6, 8 on the bottom rail, tries to go top middle...HE GOT IT! CZ wins! And they force the match on Thursday to decide it all! 4-2 the final here, and we go to Match 3 on Thursday!

Tonight... Absolutely no contest. A bad break here and there, but only one game was truly changed because of it, and a win there would only have delayed the inevitable crushing. This was a poolfiction team firing on all cylinders, and the CZ team we saw in the regular season last night.

CZ_bang.king - PFN_derekgnr - Derek appeared to want an early run, but thought better of it after a couple shots. After a safety, he would try again. Tried to get english to take off the top rail to get a shot on the 9... No go. Jim gets a chance. That is UNTIL derek comes off the top rail and sneaks the 9 through the 5 and 6 balls and nails it bottom middle. 14 goes bottom right, 8 follows, 1-0 PFN in match 1. Derek does it in game 1 as he has done the past 2 seasons for PFN. They've NEVER had a problem with early-game players.

CZ_OoOo_BoOo_oOoO - PFN_shad0w_0f_decepti0n - Boo ens up with 4 solids down first, which played more to Jamie's advantage. If he could have unblocked his 6 he'd have had an easy run, but it WAS blocked, so no run. Boo would try to make the 6ball-rail-2ball combo top-left... Not enough power, and Jamie has 7 stripes on a wide open table. I'd build a little suspense but we all know Jamie's back. It's 2-0 'Fiction.

CZ_scottish.king - PFN_dr_blastt - Ste played a couple nice safeties, played well out of blastt's, and the doctor had NO chance... Until Ste got stuck with absolutely no shot on the 8 via a spin glitch. He would try to go off the right rail, through the 2 and the 6, and off the bottom to hit the 8 up to the top middle... Yeah no. blastt gets another chance. He would run his last 5 solids, and the 8, effortlessly. CZ is now down 3-0 in PRO and in MLP at the same time. Boo did win game 4 in PRO though.

CZ_emotional.death - PFN_xlx_cjp_xlx - Another safety battle... As the pattern of this match has dictated so far... CJP would get the upper hand. Unfortunately with his last ball he couldn't get position on the 8. So here's the attempt... Bottom rail, top rail, bottom middle pocket... MONEY! Poolfiction sweeps Cheap Shotz 4-0 in match 1 of the Season 9 World Series!

It couldn't have ended on a stronger note for Poolfiction. The double on the 8, THAT was probably the straw that broke CZ's back for this entire series. I predicted 3 matches, but after tonight, I don't even think the 2nd will be close. Everyone plays in their spot, you've got a starter in derek, a closer in CJP, Jamie has returned to form at just the right moment and he's just a wildcard you can play anywhere, Josh came out of nowhere, there is WAY too much for CZ to contend with. They're overmatched and it isn't even close. 5 or 6-game win for PFN tonight, they'll come out gunning with their backs up against it, and will probably win game 3 where PFN can throw anyone and hope for a win to bridge the gap to CJP. I expect kerry will just go with the same lineup, except maybe throwing in jammy if it's 2-1 after 3. A lead already up a match makes your lineup so much more flexible.
