Cheap Shotz are the first to clinch a Playoff berth, Pool Legends may follow
Pool Loverz now sit in 6th place, 1 whole game behind Hot Shotz for the #5 spot and the right to play whoever draws the short straw basically between the big 4. Break and Run is still at least breathing in the race but at this point, in order to snag 5th place away from either HS or PZ, it's do or die the rest of the way. Blazing Cues would not be eliminated with a loss to BNR tomorrow night, but it would set them up to be knocked out next week.
In the American League, EZ8 has ensured themselves 2nd place for the end of the week, and sit 1.5 game behind the vulnerable Pool Legends. The Legends, should they beat UNY tomorrow night, would knock Cue Keepers out of the race for 1st place in the AL and clinch at least a Play-in game berth as well.
Pool Masters were able to catch up with BritPool with a 6-1 massacre off Lucky Shots to grab a tie for 3rd place (which BP holds) in the AL. After Cue Keepers lost tonight to EZ8Pool 4-3, they remain in 6th place behind United Nations of Yahoo by a game and a half. Should UNY upset the Legends tomorrow night, it could very well cripple CKP's Playoff chances, and effectively make them the best failure in MLP history. DreamPool is not eliminated yet, but a UNY win would also knock DP out of the Playoff race entirely, making them the first team to be knocked out of the MLP Playoff Picture.
Why am I doing this now? Because I'm not updating this on Friday and all weekend I am doing post-grad basketball stuff. So let's also do awards... NAO!

Dec had it coming since last week anyways and without Sova getting caught for his shit, he'd have won it anyways. As for Dawndy... She has quietly poked her nose into the MVP Race in the AL, and should Cal slip anymore or heavymetal begin to fall off... She could lead PM into possibly 2nd or even 1st place and get some consideration.
As for my pick in both leagues at this second for MVP... In the AL it's Cal. 8-1, 2-0 in deciding game 7s, 2/3 in clinching games, he has been the bigger (and better) player this season. Dawndy's saves and clinches (2 apiece, only 1 save opp. lost) actually put her 2nd above heavymetalisbest in my eyes. heavymetal's games have come really early in matches. As important as they are, he has limited play in the really big ones (clinches, saves, deciders.)
1. lvlr.legend (PL)
2. dawndyyyy (PM)
3. heavymetalisbest (BP)
In the National League, my vote is with Cheap Shotz's Boozilla. He's 6-0 so far, has a save, 3 clinches, has been a big part of CZ's run at the top of the NL, and he has done it in the midst of one hell of a race. He gets the nod over PFN's bpk because Jamie has blown the 2 shots at saves he has had this season. One was that upset at the hands of Pool Loverz where PFN went on to take the final 3 games in that match after his loss at 0-3. Boo sits at #1 for me for now, but if Jamie gets to 10 and Boo still only has 6 or 7 wins, I may bump him down a bit. In Malditos, it basically comes down to Miz and Chex because nobody in 8BR is even close to having MVP-like stats. Miz would get my vote before chex though because he's 3 of 5 in clinching games, and has a save in his only attempt. Chex's wins have all been early games (especially game 1 and 2.) Here are the top 3, in order, for the NL:
1. Boozilla (CZ)
2. xlx_bpk_xlx (PFN)
3. MiZ (MLD)
Overall season MVP? It's Cal of Pool Legends.
Outstanding Captain? AL: zackman really by process of elimination. Cal hasn't really been PL's Captain, Roy hasn't been for BP, Tom has is hands full with EZ8 but just like Keith and WP he can hadly control the stooges, and nobody else is really up on zack's level as captain.
In the National League, I would take Mickey. He has gotten the Cheap Shotz, on the MLP front anyways, under control after it looked like they were gonna give EZ8 and World Poolers a run for their money. He also has this team up at the top in the National League. The only other option, really, is tino_nica. Mike from 8BR doesn't really jump out at me, and kerry has basically posted a sign that says "SHARKS WELCOME" and takes whoever (cue.ball incident, anyone?) Too many negatives for me to put her above Tino and Mickey, who basically have no negatives at all.
Sportsmanship in the AL: Lucky Shots. Every week it's the same thing. No problems. You could at least remotely argue Pool Masters but even they don't show it on the level that the 'Shots do. In the NL: Break and Run. As usual out of BNR: Shut up during matches don't cause trouble, they take their 10+ losses every season without disrespecting the other guys, really in the NL it's a no-brainer and there isn't an argument you can make for any other NL league.
Outstanding ump... Oh what the hell half us admins do our own matches anyways who cares :S
