Week 4 Match Of The Week... Tonight?
Tonight's only match, Devine Cuez @ Cheap Shotz. In a week where there are such blowouts scheduled as TPL-PZ, PL-8BS, and UP-SS (which meh, MAY be close...) this match figures to be a good, entertaining match with both leagues trying to start some momentum going towards the middle of the season.
On one hand, you have Devine Cuez, which has had a revolving door of players and a lot of "will they or won't they" going on. Adding Dan (tw.ista) certainly helps the team, while everybody in MLP continues to benefit from what is presumably going to be a slow, painful death for the Extreme Cues team. Then there's Jordan, and whether or not he'll play. Having been away most of the weekend, I'm not entirely up-to-date with that. Regardless, there are still guys like llvllagic (as Dazed's stomach turns at my mention of his little bro,) and on his game, goodwooter is as good as anybody in the DC lineup.
Cheap Shotz is trying to prove that it might the right decision to stick around in MLP, going against what similar low-activity powerhouses 8 Ball Runners and Cue Keepers did. One personnel problem to deal with, scott22883 won't be playing after being boxed retroactive to an incident during week 3's Big League Tourney. Obviously having players using IDs like fhm_champion and midwestern_pool_champion kinda makes a match without Scott a little easier for CZ. Still, it IS a hole in the lineup for the Season 9 Champs, and this leaves the door open for Devine Cuez to pull a fast one on 'em.
Both leagues are almost identical in record; both sitting at 2-1, only one win in the win/loss record separates them. The most important game in this match will be Ben's. Everyone by now has heard the tales (more like encyclopedia-esque volumes) of Ben's games in MLP, and the slow play of Pool Legends 2 weeks ago definitely got to DC. In a match where mental sharpness may well be the deciding factor, the decisive edge goes to Cheap Shotz, and I take the more mature players here in CZ to win 5-2 to kick off the week.
