Monday result.
8Ball Runners @ Pool Loverz:
GAME 1: Judge outplayed cubs for most of the game, but late killa pulled off an intentional foul, banking the 8 and hitting in judge's 3ball, he would eventually outplay judge severely and that shot was the turning point.
GAME 2: princess caught an extremely lucky break but then botched an easy shot on the 11. Crixa would eventually go on to win easily. 2-0 8BR
GAME 3: Andy looking for "revenge" on PZ... *shrugs* OK? He gets highmarker420. Marker had the game won but... Tried to combo bank along the rail, ball he hit didn't move really at all, and Andy downs the long 8 shot, and gets his... Erm... Revenge? *shrugs*
GAME 4: After complaining about Andy taking too long on his 8 shot, GARY_305 got whooped pretty quickly by 8BR's owned_ggs. And it truly was... owned, ggs... 4-0 8BR.
Other winners: knights templar over Crashright (4-1), mr. lally over scorpionzone (4-2), and chrisxkaren over lenny (5-2)
So 8BR wins 5-2 and improve to 2-1 (13/8 with 1 forfeit win) and take sole possession of 3rd place, at least for now. Pool Loverz, well they got the garbage time wins but after you lose 4 it really doesn't matter much. This marks the second week out of 3 they've dropped the first 4 games, before winning game 5 (at least.) They are now an MLP-worst 0-3, and have only won 6 out of 21 games, 2 of those games were forfeit losses though after PZ only showed with 5 during week 1's loss.
No player in either league can go 14-0 now, as Crashright and Lenny both lost.
MOST AWESOME VIDEO EVER
Since my Applications for Digital Media class was postponed...
BritPool vs. TBA (Possibly DreamPool) - Can't pick obviously ;/
8Ball Runners vs. Pool Loverz - 8BR is more skilled, more patient, a few PZ have been playing decently lately but the Runners are gonna take this one easily, 5-2 or 6-1.
Tuesday
EZ8Pool vs. Cue Keepers - This is interesting because we don't know much about EZ8. They had the forfeit win vs. NewCastle remember? They did look good against PoolMasters but PM has been iffy this season at best. Meanwhile CKP is 1-1, but the loss was to league-leading World Poolers, and the win was against Lucky Shots. Since that loss they've also added the Pommy one. This has all the makings of a 3-3 match through 6, and if that happens, whoever wins game 5 will probably take 7 as the team down 2-3 may bump their game 7 player up. Look for the winner to be CKP.
LuckyShots vs. Pool Masters - Mediocrity meets mediocrity? Not really, but PM IS 0-2 alongside LS. I think Pool Masters are the better league here and they'll take this one at a pretty easy 5-2.
Wednesday
Malditos vs. PoolFiction - While you could say PFN is slipping, they've played 8BR and a rather underrated HS team. Both leagues played them well, and one beat them (8BR.) Malditos come in at 2-0 though, ready to continue administering the Spanish Inquisition on everyone because nobody is expecting it! ...OK that was lame. Anyways, they've added miz and although he may have a mouth, I don't think tino and the others will let him run it much, and miz could very well be the key to a 4-3 MLD win.
Cheap Shotz vs. Hot Shotz - Shotz galore! Remember I said HS are underrated? Well CZ is in the same boat as WP (look at the W3 preview below my Sea Dogs blurb.) They've got an 11/3 win/loss record, though 2 are forfeit wins (not that they'd have needed them in that match.) But like WP, they tend to shoot their mouths off a lot. Unless Hot Shotz can bring their A team, they'll need to rely on CZ getting a couple players DQ'd to have much of a chance, and if they do bring the A team... They'll need breaks. They don't have a single 2-0 player on their squad, and only one player has even played 2 (vicki, 0-2) so... Cheap Shotz, 5-2.
World Poolers vs. Pool Legends - I could give you a long write-up about this match, but I'll sum it up quick: WP haven't played a really good opponent yet, PL have and got damn lucky against BP coming back from 0-3. THis is gonna end 4-3 one way or the other.
Break and Run vs. Blazing Cues - BNR, better league, more reliable late-game players, more likely to accept a slow game, etc. etc., they'll win 5-2.
Also some things to look for this week:
Cheap Shotz's Ket.an is tied with Mick all-time at 23rd for wins, with 69. He can move ino sole possession of 23rd with #70.
redhot_2003 is in a tie for 17th all-time in wins, at 79. Win number 80 puts him one shy of fire_wolf, who is 16th at 81.
PM's kingj, with a loss this week would fall into the "cold" category, with a 5-game losing streak.
capwhanda is 3 tourney wins (Byes included) from 64, which would tie with marty_mcfly and fire_wolf at the bottom of that top 25 all-time list. With the 2v2 this Friday, if cappy has a team it could happen if the team reaches round 3.
