Week #5 Predictions
Alright, so 4 weeks down; both conferences have: an undisputed #1, a 3-way tie for 2nd, a team that is 2-2, two teams tied for 5th @ 1-3 and 2 teams dropping faster than Pommys fatass when he jumps into a lake. WELCOME TO WEEK 5! No need for a big intro this week - I'll make 2 predictions per conference and be done.
American League
-United Pool WILL NOT hold onto the #1 seed going into the playoffs
-The Top 5 teams will remain the same and make the playoffs (seedings will change, however)
National League
-Poolfiction WILL NOT reliquinish #1 - am I ballsy enough to say they'll go unbeaten? Not yet.
-The winner of this weeks Luckyshots/Pool Pals match will finish the season with a wildcard spot (at worst).
Anyways, I'm REALLY getting sick of going 5-3 in my picks for the week, let's try for at least 6-2, shall we?!

7pm - True Pool Legends (3-1) @ Straightshots (1-3)
Location: All Mixed Up
Last Week: True Pool Legends def. Pool Loverz 5-2 / United Pool def. Straightshots 4-3
Watch List: tpl_xlx_e_f_c_xlx & ss_xl_0wnz_lx
Outlook: Say it ain't so! TPL played a match where the score WASN'T 4-3 last week? lol. The possibility of Steve (xlx_e_f_c_xlx) making his return after a few weeks away makes this match worth watching on it's own - just think of how badly his SS opponent might wax him after his hiatus! SS is coming off of a week that saw them lose 4-3 (the match was over in 6 games) to the AL-leaders, United Pool. They put up a fight in that match and if TPL isn't careful they may find themselves, once again, relying on some "Pommy-heroics" in game 7. TPL isn't a deep team, but when their top 7 show it's a handful for any league in MLP. SS comes into this match with motive, as they don't want to slip any farther behind CZ for the Wildcard spot; if they do -the AL Top 5 may be clinched by week 9. TPL can't shake the "close-match" monkey off of it's back, and this one ends up closer than expected.

8pm - Cheapshotz (2-2) @ 8 Ball Scratch (0-4)
Location: And Far Away
Last Week: Devine Cuez def. Cheapshotz 6-1 / Pool Legends def. 8 Ball Scratch 4-3
Watch List: cz_canadianpoolking & 8bs_i_luv_titties69
Outlook: So, once again, CZ takes a loss in the week previous only to find themselves staring at some poor helpless bottom feeder the following week. I like that 8BS appeared to put up a fight against PL last week, but at the same time, w/ the style of play Jase and co. play it sometimes hurts them just as much as helps them, so score can be fairly misleading. I don't wanna take anything away from 8BS, but I just can't see them putting up much of a fight in this one.

6pm - Poolfiction (4-0) @ Break and Run (0-4)
Location: Welcome to the Jungle
Last Week: Poolfiction def. Extreme Cues 7-0 / Tourney Pool def. Break and Run 6-1
Watch List: pfn_tacoby_bellsbury & bnr_jasonlippi01234
Outlook: Two teams heading in completely opposite directions, only to get even farther apart after this match. Jason will get his first crack at his old league and let's all hope he doesn't harbour as many bitters feelings towards PFN as his brother Simon did when he jumped to LS. Of course, Jason's departure was mainly based around playing time, and in that sense I don't blame him at all. Look for PFN to rest 1 or 2 of their big guns and for BNR to pick up a win or 2 along the way. BNR's going to have to wait at least 1 more week to pick up their first win of the season.

Location: Sweet Dreams
Last Week: Magic Pool def. Pool Pals 4-3 / Dreampool def. Luckyshots 4-3
Watch List: pp_exquisite_marky & ls_simon.kitto
Outlook: Match of the "Weak" here. This one's tough. Both teams are underachieving with decent looking lineups. I want to take PP, but all we've seen for them is complete disarray. Until Neo gets back, or a captain that understands interleagues and the players participating in them steps up to the plate, I just don't see this team picking up any creditable wins. BLAH - but Luckyshots are Luckyshots - ya know what I'm saying? What the hell is a predictor to do. Fine...

7pm - Devine Cuez (3-1) @ United Pool (4-0)
Location: Back Somersault
Last Week: Devine Cuez SMOKED Cheapshotz 6-1 / United Pool def. Straightshots 4-3
Watch List: dc_xlx_skill_xlx & up_united.pooler
Outlook: So UP coming off of a weak where they squeaked passed SS, and DC off one where they completely destroyed my AL preseason favourite CZ. These 2 leagues play each other in like 3 different interleagues this week, so there's no doubt they're going to start bitching at each other sooner or later (with the mouths they have on the players over in DC, this is inevitable; unless of course they're winning - but even then...lol). I don't see this one being a blow-out, but I can't help but feel UP gets knocked off their #1 perch this week. Jordan and Lewis will be key players in DC's upset bid.
Prediction: 4-3 Devine Cuez

9pm - Pool Loverz (0-4) @ Pool Legends (3-1)
Location: Afraid to Lose
Last Week: True Pool Legends def. Pool Loverz 5-2 / Pool Legends def. Straightshots 4-3
Watch List: pz_king_of_8br & pl_ooo_franchise_ooo
Outlook: The AL punching bag strolls into Afraid to Lose to battle Jase and PL on Wednesday night. PZ tripled their win count on the season (1 --> 3) versus TPL last week and they'll be looking to take a few more off of PL. Unfortunately, I just don't see PZ being too fond of PL's over-obsessive snookers. Depending on how many runs the Legends screw up, this one won't be too close.

8pm - Tourney Pool @ Dreampool
Location: Advanced Lounge III
Last Week: Tourney Pool def. Break and Run 6-1 / Dream Pool def. Luckyshots 4-3
Watch List: tp_deep_cerebro & dp_kimbo.slicee
Outlook: I'm still not sold on DP. They've picked up MJ which would help anyteam, whether it be PFN or 8BS but I just don't know. I know TP is definitely a more deserving #2 seed and will be sitting in a tie w/ MP at the end of the week though. I have to commend DP though, I think I predicted them to finish the SEASON w/ 3 wins and they've already reached that in week 4. Unfortunately, they won't pick up win #4 this week, "Mr. BLT" (Luis) and his gang should cruise in this one.

Outlook: This match doesn't deserve much of a write-up. Maybe one line per EC player I expect to play. Nah, just kidding. Last week, MP (once again) crushed my Upset Special pick as it took PP down in a very entertaining match that went the distance (that means game 7, people). For this match, I say MP stomps the 1, 2 or 3 players EC brings to this game as the clock gets closer to striking midnight on EC's time in MLP.
Prediction: 6-1 Magic Pool
