Thursday Results
PoolPimps @ Regul8ors - Wasn't a smooth start what with the ump pestering the regs for a team list but all was well for the most part. Pomking blew a shot at running late in the game with ball in hand, but he'd get another easy chance....Oi. Stuck behind a solid, with 1 stripe left, not good. Missed by a bit, he would proceed to take some good players in the baseball draft last night :( jerk. YankeeChic by the way was hit opponent, for the curious, and she didn't mess up the simple finish. Kenny got booted after questioning some "hmm" comments, no real problem continue on. In that next game Tracey would make the mistake of going cross table instead of the much easier bottom middle shot...That stuff kills ya in the World Series don't it PFN? Bassist_4life gets the win shortly after, Pimps up by a deuce. But now you're watching the all jerfighter channel. Crazy_nuts0 misses...and jer...just...keeps going....and going...and going....and going...and in keeping with the MLP-MLB tradition...HOME RUN! Big run from jer, 2-1 now. Next game pool_warrior glitched, and alleciac runs from the foul, and it's 3-1. Tap break next game it's Pita against Big Pimp Daddy, required camtasia for him, tap break snoozefest fast forward, to Pita just being clutch. Makes the relatively easy combo, then pots the ball he first hit in that combo, then the 8, comeback time 3-2. But...game 6 belonged to plp_l3lazer_fan_plp as he beat FLIPMODE_M...and the upset! 4-2 the score, it would be 4-3 as game 7 was forfeited. Regs not happy some saying they didn't know pimps only had 6...Which is funny because YankeeChic said twice early on in the match she would look for a 7th. It wasn't pretty but the Pimps get their second win of the season, just gotta stay right around that .500 range and you're in in the Mountain, maybe Pimps get there? Too early to say.
UnitedPool @ XPool - Last time cubby umped a match, HS-EZ8, total match time: Just over an hour. l3ig_kyle got things started for XPool as he beat cadillac pimpin, after the pimp scratched late in the game, kyle only had 1 ball and the 8 left. Cake. Game 2 sweetpete and gooner in a safety battle, XPooler pete makes the smart bank late in the game, cue off the top rail and hits a simple 3-ball combo, but blows the next shot leaving him with nothing on the last stripe. After a pot and a safety, the desparation shot from pete misses the mark, gooner ties it up 1-1. It was pretty much all UnitedPool in this one. Tall_ndn won, waterfalllove beat Chuck007007 after he just barely fouled making a cuebank, but at 3-1 Southern_Desire ended the run, with some nice playing of her own. 3-2, shootalready on the 8 in game 6...and he don't miss tho....or maybe he does. 8ball hanging in the top right, GodsAccess, UnitedPool captain, brings home the clincher, ketan won game 7 are you surprised? 5-2 UnitedPool winners, they're 0-1 at home, and 2-0 away, XPool both of their 2 losses coming in Play The Game.
PoolMasters @ TourneyPool - Pick it up in game 2 after texas_outlaw_hdtd beat __superkid, giving TP the 1-0 advantage. Next game bribohebon against crazy_que, bribo just barely stuck without a shot on the 8, tries a safety, no good. Crazy then finishes out a few stripes and the 8, leveled 1-1. After some safeties in game 3 it would be b_l_u_e_83 putting together a nice run against nightcrawler, giving the Masters the 2-1 lead. But game 4, peachie, she's 2-0 on the season, TourneyPool's only 2-0, fouls when she gets to the 8. But, mrsr pool perfection took a ride on the Chokeobo, excuse the Final Fantasy reference :\ and misses with ball in hand...and this instance results in a TP win, 2-2...Why do I say this instance? Tell ya later. Game 5...2-2...Netty breaks for TP...and ehkohz...gives her a slashing. 1 little 2 little 3 little balls made, 4 little 5 little 6 little balls made, 7 little 8 little...that's it. 8 balls 8 shots, her first win of the season she's 1-1, PM up 3-2. But Missy would safety the living daylights out of LuckyDog71, coupled with a lucky leave off a miss, eventually Missy would win, we'll need 7 to decide this one. First win for Missy, first loss for LuckyDog. Game 7. TP's SecretAgent went for it all early, but misses the bank bottom to top middle, jimvan tried to run after that...but after a few shots the safeties start up. Agent with a clear advantage even with 1 ball left, but a little glitcharoo fixed that. Agent tries a cuebank bottom to top rail, to roll in the 14, foul. Ball in hand jimvan, tries to roll in the 4ball, hangs top right. Agent now...all the pressure and 2 choices. Run the cue off the 14 to make the 4, and safety, or just go do or die and bank the 14, from the top rail to bottom right. Yeah, pressure. He goes for the bank, miss and lose...make you're a hero, but he just steps up, knocks down, clutch clutch bank. And the 8 well that's just a given after that. TourneyPool shocks the Masters, 4-3, both teams now 1-2.
Now, I give people a loooooooooot of hell usually each night when they act completely stupid and show the maturity of a...Well, baby would be giving too much credit. Tonight though? Smoothly run for the most part. Noone really made a big deal of the little stuff, and it got me to thinking about something. It's usually the "superstar" players that cause the trouble. The people who play in every interleague and collect rares, play in wpc, and consider themselves great, that run their mouths the most. You've seen it, I know all of you have. They think that because they believe they have "sicc skills" that they're not gonna get punished as much as others. Problem is guys: You're doing this against arguably the best admin team in interleagues. To those who played tonight, great job. To those who still cause all the trouble, watch some college ball tonight and don't show up at the SS-WA match. There's gonna be 2 very well behaved teams, primarily because none of the "sicc godly ownage" kids are on those teams. Don't ruin a friendly match with your nonsense. You wanna talk about stuff not related to the match? You all have messenger because I've gotten tons of silly masses from a lot of you -_- So hey, let's just have 2 nights with smooth matches for a change alright?
