Thursday Night's Post
PoolHustlers @ Regul8ors - So the "big-name" PH players...Gone, those who really wanted to stay, they took on Regs tonight. Game 1, after freeshot fouls, PH's Si (Funny_Rugrat) looks...so...sex-y, s-e-x-y, la la la...Yeah, 8 balls 8 shots, that would certainly help a shot percentage statistic, but unlike me he didn't sing. 1-0 Hustlers. But it's JJ playing real early, he's studying for final exams and playing NateTheGreat...and Nate should also study because... JJ put on a clinic. When he ran 4 and didn't have the chance to finish, he played some nice safeties, great table awareness, and Nate really stood no chance. JJ in control all game, he eventually tied it up 1-1. Jerfighter in the final game of his life if I can get my hands around his throat =\ he's against ph-alex, who according to Sophie wasn't happy about Theike releasing all the players who wanted to leave...He's also a PH admin...He's also a winner after jer scratched trying to get position on his final ball, so let's just say, he ain't any worse than he was before, in fact...He's better. 2-1 Hustlers...Next, Cobain_17 blows the easy finish with a scratch of his own, and PH's Brandon, scpoolplaya, he's worth the price of admission and a couple bucks extra. Hustlers up 3-1, odds of Fairleigh Dickinson winning the tourney...5000-1...Getting there! numero_uno_pool_playa passes up a pointless safety in game 5, gets just enough out of his shot to get a clean shot on his final ball, finishes easily to beat Pita, and to clinch the win, notice LKP won their first match against big-name ElitePool last season when they went with loyal members...PH does the same to a big-name league this season...But LKP still finished ugly that season. PH eventually won it 5-2, Rocky_Ireland from PH won, and Theike lost to Crazy_Cheese, Regul8or's captain. Tracey and pool_warrior didn't show.
TourneyPool @ PoolPimps - Not a match I got to watch, but it was ugly. 6-1 the final score TourneyPool the winners, that's what we like to call rebounding from a loss. Both teams will now be 2-3, but the Pimps still have it a little easier I think as far as getting into the top 4, and if PM lost...there'd be a 4-way tie at 2-3, and 4th in the Mountain...That'd be good TV for next week if this stuff was on ESPN.
CueKeepers @ UnitedPool - Caught this one at the end of game 3, Ketan and Craig had tied it at 1-1, for UP and CKP respectively, then iceman doing some quick-draw McGraw shooting, banks 1 ball bottom to top middle, turns around and goes top to bottom middle with the 8, and thank god it wasn't a match against BBM because it wasn't on cam as far as I know. 2-1 UnitedPool. But, CKP don't like getting banked on. Uniteds call up Danny452, I'm sure anyone familiar with the former 8BallElite league would recognize the name, some guy named john_owns_u played for CueKeepers...He played pretty well. I mean, he won...I recorded it...Had to check my email through most of the game...But I did see a couple nice safeties when he didn't feel like taking the chance on a combo, and really it's about taking the shot you're comfortable with. Enough analysis and praise, the kid won, OK? 2-2 tie. Then...Badking went against CKP's crusherx, who just signed up in MLP tonight. Badking fouled, and....crusher, is good, thank you, report. 6 stripes and the 8, in 7 shots after that final foul from BK, did i mention...he's good? Firerescue vs. kidfromperu, fire actually appeared to be in control at the end of this game, but he blew a chance to play a potential game-clinching safety, then missed one of the simpler long shots, then he even had ball in hand off a scratch, but didn't put any care into position for his final ball, it was a blown oppurtunity to save the match for UP, kidfromperu went on to win, 4-2 CKP now, it was just a blown oppurtunity. But I did see him say someday he'll win one of these, which leads me to think he's not exactly who you'd want in a big pressure situation like this, but maybe ketan had to leave early and the roles got reversed or something. Either way CKP went on to win 5-2, wifesboytoy beat UP captain GodsAccess in game 7, Keepers now 3-2, they're part of a 3-way tie with DreamPool and Queballz, which could go to 4 should XPool win Saturday night over StraightShots. UnitedPool are 2-3, and they're already in a 4, potentially 5-way tie, involving ElitePool, 8BallRunners, LPL, UnitedPool, and possibly StraightShots if THEY should win Saturday night's match.
Now, BBM won 5-2, and one of the biggest issues if not the biggest issue of the night, mirkwood_hustler. He had asked PoolMaster bencoggon for cam, ben said no he didn't have it. Ben took a little time breaking, mirkwood opened up about that. Ben started running the table, and mirkwood said "now you see why cam would've been good" or something along those lines, robbie will likely back me up on it, I didn't screenshot it unfortunately, but it was damn stupid. Then after mirkwood had won, unfortunately, he had expected ben to say gg. I said this in the last post, it's gonna be like a recurring statement this season: YOU'RE STUPID. That's about when I left the match because frankly it was sickening. I'll say it now I'm not a fan of PM fro what I hear from Lucky about their reaction to his new league. But I don't have 0 respect for them. I know they're a nice league, they don't go around starting bullshit, they don't say things for the sole purpose of pissing people off, and that is worth a TON of respect points in my book. Then to see some idiot start accusing their players of aimer, and get away with it, it's just sickening. And it's not one-way, smaller leagues accuse biggern players, like WA's dis_dain did, then BBM's Gratifying, and I'll assume PlayTheGame was him because more than 5 people told me it way, decided to make like nothing more than a big pussy and come in on a different name, make a dumbass comment when the issue was practically dead, it makes me wonder if I should've bothered booting the idiot he already got his money's worth. The problem I've attacked a lot is people outside of a match running their mouths but in some cases it's people involved as well. Scrolling repeatedly and I won't exclude my home league from this one because I see it with PFN too, but players get damn annoying and who cares whether or not someone has their chat window hidden? Doesn't change what's said and done. So what can anyone do about it? Could the Admins really box the players? Well, yeah. It'd stop that real quick. If they came in on throw away IDs and it became an issue, even if it meant that I myself couldn't be at the matches, make the matches invite only. Only the players and captains can be at the table, or atthe most lenient, have the admin on duty and the ump both make a decision on who can be at the match and who shouldn't. But either way, something needs to get people, when they're at a match, to shut, the hell, up, and let the matches go on without the drama of some dumbass accusing another of aimer, or making a big deal over someone without cam, or people typing faster than some lobby scrollers. I haven't seen too many complaints about that last one, so it's probably not an issue I should have a problem with and in a few hours likely won't have a problem with, but people run their mouths when they could do everyone a huge favor and shut the hell up, and it's absolutely ridiculous. A mass I sent to the other admins did get a reply I'm personally happy about, Trace said they'd try and set up a short-notice meeting on Sunday before the Tour, to maybe think of something to resolve it. I haven't read this post over, there's more I could easily add but can't think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure stuff will get added, people will be ticked, offended, etc. But it's just an out of hand issue each week, bokey_hata does it, mirkwood did it this week, and even dis_dain and I would never have seen the latter coming, and it's gonna happen every week until people get more than a simple boot out of it. Before anyone jumps on me, Im not claiming to be perfect. But I do at least have it in me to know when to shut up and know, most of the time, what might and might not offend someone at a match. By the way Fairleigh's chances are now nil. By the way as I logged back onto YM I noticed an offline mass from Trace, Mirkwood's win was reversed, and the score changed to 4-3 BBM instead of 5-2.
Thursday's Picks
Regul8ors @ Pool Hustlers (Texas tech vs. UCLA) I have to go with Regs in this match (and Texas Tech) because nobody except Theike knows his lineup tonight. He's taking the regulars of PH now, after their "stacked" team earned them a 1-3 record. So, who plays? Exactly. Nobody really knows. But the Regs have been upset prone, I've said it many times, which is why just like UCLA has a good chance, so does PH. But, now that most of the big players in PH are gone, maybe Theike's in a situation where he does have to play game 7...If that's the case and it goes 3-3, I don't like PH's chances. I doubt it'll reach that though, the Regs will probably win 5-2 on the back of JJ, Andy, and jerfighter except he's gonna die for not showing up to QZ-LPL :
TourneyPool @ PoolPimps (Stanford vs. Mississippi St.) Another match where neither team is great, but they both do have big wins. TP's win against the Masters, and Pimps beat the Regs with 6. I do like the TP team here though. I think in a shooting contest, they'd have the edge. They've also got SecretAgent, who made that huge clutch bank on jimvan in the PM loss...Peachie has had a nice season thus far, while Pimps just don't have as many players on the level of TourneyPool. Preparation shouldn't be an issue being that it's a home match for the Pimps, but I'm giving TP the edge 4-3.
CueKeepers @ UnitedPool (Minnesota vs. Iowa St.) Both teams here are pretty even. The match will probably swing on 1 little break, and thus it makes it quite difficult to pick a winner without completely guessing. I haven't seen a lot of either team but that's why I'm gonna check out this match above any others, and hopefully I'll pick up a few things. But if you had to put me on the spot, I would take the CueKeepers to win, 4-3.
BeerBallers @ PoolMasters (Michigan St. vs. Old Dominion) Yes, I'm evenly matching those two teams as well as BBM-PM, but letting BeerBallers be the Spartans. Why? Because I think if Scott can get that team he had last week, or at least 5 or 6 of them, then they can beat the PoolMasters. But the biggest problem BBM has, is they have to stop treating people like shit. Quit whining about losing even before they've lost. Clogz I know is a really good player, but the best do lose. Just because you don't know a player, doesn't give you ANY right to call them a "noob." Because if you should lose to them, what exactly does it make you? So, run the mouths all ya want but that's the only problem I have with BBM...Also, in a close match, apparently Ivey doesn't want to play because he's STILL ineligible. Also, I hope Scott, as an unofficial punishment, won't let Gratifying play after he ran his mouth like a complete dumbass at last night's PO match. Anyways, without Luckydog, and if the problems his new league has apparently caused haven't completely subsided, there could be a little distraction. Both leagues really want this match, but I give the edge to the Beer lovers, not 4-3, but another gut feeling, 5-2.
Wednesday Night
SuperbPool @ MadSkillz - Ugly...Match...Alert... MadSkillz got on SPool early and were just unrelenting in their assault. It was over when it started, pretty much. Game 1 ended when Craig took a safety over chancing the rail-runner across the top rail. Paris fouled, ballgame. 1-0 MZ. CoolDude3424, used to play for PoolFiction, he's aginst jivemaster who said before the start of the match...He's like Duke, his opponent is like UNC...Jive gets careless and drops the 8 early, UNC wins ;) 2-0 MadSkillz. SPool captain x_sicc_x against Fighting_Irish_ND, the unfortunate Notre Dame fan, not unlucky here, gets the nice combo along the top part of the table, little Yahoo with the 3ball slow-rolling to the left rail...No problem. He finished, 3-nil. Then Pete...A nice 5ball run and the 8...Ah....He's just good. Match over, 4-0. T_Rocket finally plays, he goes against king_hustler who was rather awful last week compared to his expectations...Expect this. Hustler nailed every shot under the sun almost. Long liner from the center of the table, cueball off one ball into a nice combo, another really long liner..Money. later, cuebank, well hell he nailed that too. Then the 8, simple shot for once, 5-0, T Rocket's first loss. Gaz against NoWackos, Gary forgot what ball he was...Guy only has 1 how'd he confuse...Oh, in pool, never mind ;) But gary...CHOKES! Nah he ran out nicely after a fairly long safety battle, 6-0 MadSkillz, SP forfeits #7...Yep...MadSkillz got mad on SuperbPool alright, but the most disturbing stat: 9/26 for SuperbPool...after 5 weeks, that's just an absolute joke I'm sorry.
PoolPals @ LuckyPool - This was sad too. I wasn't able to follow the match because of Angels-Outlaws that I had to ump, but LuckyPool won 5-2, and they were up either 3-0 or 4-0 at one point, they brought PoolPals back down to Earth after their win last week, LKP has only had 5-2 results all season...No team has EVER finished a season with 1 single result every match, unless it's 7-0 and they quit. LKP moves to 3-1, with a match pending against Bearskins eventually in this season.
WildAngels @ Pool Outlaws - Another horrid beat-down. Game 1, Varmitmaster beat datru_mastah, 1-0 WA, their only lead hell their only win of the night. Full_Blast won reluctantly on timer, then Austin whooped up on MrStudly. After that game, dis_dain mentioned his ping and now, I'm taking a little timeout to say something that needs to be said... YOU'RE STUPID. Ping has nothing to do with aimers, Judy had her say with dis_dain as well, he wouldn't play. By the way, for someone accusing Austin of aimer I've only seen Judy play in the cam jump...Prove it before ya preach it alright? 2-1 Outlaws, or Oultaws depending on what season you wanna live in, Robbie picked up a win, MJ, my goodness 4-1 so they're gonna take it easy right? Nah, they buried the Angels. Jamie beat SongNeverEnds, Tim took down Judy, WildAngels got tamed and that's me being nice. 6-1 win for PO, they stay level with MadSkillz but, head to head, MZ still leads the Atlantic.
Again kids...Far as I know, everyone on PO has cam. Everyone PO is willing to play on cam. Ping has NOTHING to do with aimers. Anyone who thinks so needs to be castrated or otherwise neutered (to be gender-equal) :)
