Playoff Update
AMERICAN LEAGUE
EZ8Pool, with a win and a Cue Keepers loss this week would clinch a Playoff berth. EZ8 would move to 8-3, and have 4 games on the 6th-place CueKeepers who would sit at... You guessed it. 4-8. But that's not all that could happen in the 2nd half of the final week before Thanksgiving Break. If United Nations of Yahoo beat DreamPool, which they should do, they would knock Lucky Shots AND DreamPool out simultaneously, putting them 4+ games back with only 3 games left. Keep an eye on the Cue Keepers, EZ8's match. We ALL know EZ8 has issues week in and week out. Can they put it aside for just one, to clinch a spot? Will CKP have one of their good weeks and go on a run for the end? Only... The Shadow Knows....
NATIONAL LEAGUE
The big 4 (8BR, CZ, PFN, MLD) have all clinched Playoff berths already, and realistically the only battle is between Hot Shotz and Pool Loverz. Now imagine the following scenario:
Hot Shotz lose to 8Ball Runners, Pool Loverz beat Blazing Cues. PZ pulls to within 1 game of HS, with 2 to play. The very next week, Hot Shotz and Pool Loverz will play each other! A Loverz win would of course tie the two but this is where those pesky tiebreakers come in. Hot Shotz beat PZ 5-2 when they met in the first half of the season. Loverz would need to win 5-2 or better in order to have a shot at the head to head tiebreaker. Of course if that happens, and they finish even, it'd go to win-loss record. HS will EASILY finish with a better w/l record in that case. Then it comes down to the final week. Pool Loverz @ PoolFiction, while Hot Shotz take on Malditos. Both of those leagues (PFN, MLD) may very well be competing for first place or 2nd still. What I'm saying is... If everything falls just right for PZ, they could steal 5th place from the Hot Shotz, and face whoever draws the short straw between the big 4.
Speaking of the big 4... If 8BallRunners beat Cheap Shotz tomorrow night, there will be a 4-way tie for #1 in the NL.
PoolFiction: 49 wins
Malditos: 50 wins
Cheap Shotz: Would be less than 47 wins
8Ball Runners: Would be 49 or more.
An 8BR win would drop CZ from 1st all the way to 4th via the win/loss tiebreaker. Cheap Shotz have to run the gauntlet until the final week of the season. 8BR this week, PFN after Thanksgiving, then Malditos after that, before finally getting to play BNR to close.
End of the week, each league's top 2 MVPs, and the top 3 in each conference, AND... The top 3 overall in MLP. Also POTW, AOTW, etc.
