Tuesday night (yes, WITH a PFN prediction)
Decent match last night. If you look at just the games and what happened on the table. Cheap Shotz rallied off 5 straight wins after falling behind 0-2, in danger of going down 0-3. Neither team played particularly well, but it's only the first match of the season with a lot of unnecessary extracurricular crap involved.
Players to watch:
Poolfiction - Jamie (xlx_bpk_xlx): Never know what kind of season he's going to have but you certainly know what he's capable of. He may have to be the big-game player for this match, and will have to bring his A game if so.
Pro Poolerz - Paul (million_pound_shot) - Yes there's Koty, Roy, and co.... But spotlighting one, you pretty much have to spotlight the best guy in week 1. Paul doesn't necessarily need to match up against Jamie, because you can always save that for Koty, etc. But he will play a huge role in this match just by showing up. You always have to keep in mind who they have available, and with quite a few threats... They are dangerous.
Break & Run @ MagicPool - ...MagicPool is a bit depleted coming into the season, but come on... It's BNR. Mick, Ian & co. will take care of business with a 6-1 victory, I'm pretty sure.
Players to watch:
Magic Pool - Mick (xoxoxo_kick_oxoxox): No, not THE Mick, just MP's Mick, for the uninformed. Still a good enough player to be considered a threat. A little inconsistent but if you're gonna safety, you need to do it well because he is simply a shotmaker, and you can't defend that by leaving easy little 1-railers. Being this is BNR, he likely won't run into any good safes.
Break and Run - David (redhot_2oo3): Come on it's BNR. David, outside of Chip and I don't know if he's there this season, has been BNR's top player going way back to the early days of MLP. Like Mick, he WAS a shotmaker, kinda tailed off a bit lately but he can pick up a win in an ugly game if you let him. MagicPool needs to not fall asleep in this match, and especially any game Dave happens to play.
Onto tonight. We'll start with Pro Poolerz taking on Poolfiction. PFN coming off one of the, if not THE most successful season MLP has ever seen. However, major parts of that team are no longer there. It's gonna be very tough going against a Pro Poolerz team featuring, among others, a big threat in Paul. I think PRO has a very good chance to hand PFN their first loss since Season 9's World Series. It'll be interesting to see who is around to play for which league. I'd look for PRO to go pretty far this season, though. I'll take 'em, no harm no foul, 4-3 PRO wins tonight.
