Monday
LPL @ BritPool - Tough to call. LPL has struggled so far. (Blowing a 2-0 and 3-0 lead, yes that qualifies.) While BritPool blew 8BR out of the water, had a rough loss, and uh...well they also blew a 3-0 lead except...they lost and LPL won when they did it. So, should be a close match, hopefully everyone will be eligible even bandwagon Duke fans right Luke? Go heels =) Anyways, while BritPool has been a mild surprise, I think LPL does have a stronger team, and coming right after the tour where Moe cleaned up and got 5 points, I think the confidence factor comes into play. LPL 4-3. Especially if they have ogges because remember last week, they tried to take on Poolfiction without him, and of course with an ineligible guy, didn't work. However, don't be surprised if LPL loses this match, romper was asking for a slight time change to 8:00, then he blew up like a child at Trace when she said it wasn't long enough notice, the strategy for BritPool? Play fast and don't allow LPL to stall enough to let romper get back. Could be 4-3 either way, I stick with LPL.
AbsoluteFinest @ BlackSilver - Another team that has SEVERELY struggled, lost to HotShotz, Break and Run, ChampionsPool, these are teams they would've smoked last season, so what's going on? Cameron's still on a little guilt trip claiming to be retiring after his loss last week, I mean BlackSilver is gonna have their work cut out for them, but what a statement it would be if they were to knock off AbsoluteFinest. They've got possibly the best chance to gain momentum they may get all season. A beatable team, still undefeated, BS at home, this is one of BlackSilver's most important matches of the season, and that urgency has to show in their play tonight or they may slip out of contention already. AF on the other hand, well they simply stepped it up since week 1. Beat TourneyPool, BeerBallers, and just beating BBM in a fair match, simply because of the name, it has to give them a little more confidence. The key for them is to stick to their normal style, and don't underestimate BS just because they're on opposite ends of the standings. Of course, any time you stick RVDBlade and derek in a team and now they've got x_total_x (Austen, and no not PO's Austin), I mean, that's pressure enough. X_Monkey went deep in the tour this week, he needs to be big here as well, everyone does. I think while BS may want it more, AF will win 4-3.
HotShotz @ Breakers Alley - These are two teams I'll commonly refer to this season as bracket busters. While their chances of getting in aren't extremely great, they can get wins if people underestimate them. I think Breakers Alley really has just one good player frankly, and I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but that'd be soccer_punk. But hey, for them it's about having fun and shooting pool. They could care less whether or not someone picks them to win or lose or by how much. It's tough however for BA to get a team because of the safeties in MLP, and there's a good chance a HotShotz player or 2 will play one. That's how you beat BA, safety. Some may leave, some may say it's a dirty tactic but Mike Golic will back me on this: You play to win =\ HotShotz 5-2.
8BallRunners @ ElitePool - Two teams, one struggled early, one's possibly struggling now. If ElitePool's new captain, assuming kansas_elite is taking over permanently, has got a good feel for this team by now, great. But 8BR finally played the way they knew they could, and picked up a huge win over CueKeepers. That was last Monday, this Monday, I think we can expect the same. If they stick to their style, take their time, and copenhagen is a great illustration of that advice, and just play as good as they should know they are, they can easily take ElitePool 4-3 or 5-2. But it's not what can or should happen, it's what does, and that's why we play the game. I'm taking Trouble4some, miz, copenhagen, and mspoolpro over anything ElitePool can throw at 'em, 4-3 8BR.
Tour week 4
First off the lovely regular jump, and we will watch BS' leading scorer. No, Eddie was in the cam jump he was worth just 1 win, double points, do the math. X_Monkey. Kid beat the_wenger of PLP, krazy from Quez, and clever calm craig of CueKeepers. That added to his Bye in round 1, 4 points. Jerfighter beat him in round 5, so hey let's watch him. He won this thing before remember? PM's Ice1001, goodbye. Round 7, that's the finals, HP captain ANDY_3_16, jerfighter_3_16 says I just repeated Tour victories on you. First multi-tour winner this season, both in the reg jump, for the reg, jerfighter looking for many more. Oh by the way, he was the only regul8or in that one. Big 10 points for him. Incidentally...Andy was the only HP in either jump. Gotta love the interest.
Three other regs joined the cam jump so, 1 point bonus, and pomking...yes that is busted cheddar nuts himself, he got 10 points as well, except difference is he lost to PF's RunningWithBulls in the Finals. yes it was a 6-round get-together. PoolPals got 1 guy in that cam jump, l3ams_a_legend, while on the regs subject yes he was a Regul8or last season. Yes he's a legend at least for the night, gets through PH's pakipoolking, LuckyDog of PM, 8ballrunner Trouble4some, and go fig. He lost to pomking. Interesting to note here...Wanna know how lucky everyone is PF didn't run away with this? There were 5 same-league matches, 3 of them involved PF. Luis beat Amir round 1, then lost to scotter round 2, and Corey beat Gary round 3. 34 or 35 total points for PF, Tour standings show 39, may wanna go back and double-check those points there and I will too. Either way PF takes the cam jump for the 2nd week straight, yeeeee-ikes. They're starting to roll boys.
