Wednesday Week 2 Results
DIVISION I
#8 8Ball Runners @ #7 Pool Fiction
Game 1 - Ross got stuck in the bottom middle with no line, and gave up bih. Aaron ended up like... I dunno what it was, some 2-rail cuebank or something but it was a combo and a foul as well. Ross took that bih and easily won. PFN up 1-0.
Game 2 - Shotz accidentally made 2 balls on the same shot, forcing a combo attempt 14-12, bottom right. He hit that but left nothing at all on the 14, as he was blocked by the 5. He played about as good a safety as he could. Garett just kept safetying until Tim could do nothing but give him a run. Didn't take long. Garett ran all 7 solids in a row. Game. 1-1.
Game 3 - Rather quick game, Jase just took it to mjong, and he made it look oh so easy at the end. Not much to say, Jase purely outplayed her, 2-1 PFN.
Game 4 - First 6 balls potted were Nick's solids as he had little choice except to go for the run. 6th was the 2ball which he made an insane cut on to make it in the top middle, but left himself nothing but a safety attempt. Mark had the game in hand basically from there, although Nick almost stole it away from him. 3-1 PFN.
Game 5 - poolfiction_oldie aka gl3nn for the clinch, MOLSON__CANADIAN for the save. Long safety battle basically. Back and forth in typical yawnfest fashion... Molson had Glenn outnumbered 4 solids to 1 stripe, with the 8 sandwiched between the 3ball and the top right pocket. Glenn dropped the 8 early but Bill decided to offer the rerack but Chris Soccer has to leave so they decided to delay it. Problem is copenhagen was called up for 8BR instead! So 3-2, PFN still up... try to follow me here guys...
Game 6 - Cope played MeetingJoe here... Had to be quite a quick game though to give chris any chance of playing. Cope nailed the 9 top middle but scratched bottom middle with only 1 stripe remaining. Joe later botched a gimme on the 5, but the 8 and 1 blocked the cue's path to the 11. Cope tried banking off the bottom rail with the cueball, to drop the 11 top left... DRAINO but the cue ends up somehow stuck in the bottom left pocket, blocked by the bottom tip. Desperation attempt... Missed of course. Joe finished, PFN secures the win at 4-2.
Game 7 - Derekgnr beat xchrisxsoccerx to make it 5-2. But that's NOT a Final because now they're gonna rerack Bill's and Glenn's game so it's 5-1, but if Bill wins it will still count as a save, if Glenn wins it's a clincher. Bill smoked him. 7BALL'D Easy win, MOLSON maintains the save, and the clincher goes to Joe for winning the actual game 6 that made it 4-2. FINAL 5-2 PFN WINS.
So, odd match at the end but the delayed rerack wasnt nearly as much of a problem for me as it could've been. 8BR did have some bad breaks but they were simply outmatched. I do still think they're on the rise, but maybe I overestimated that rise. PoolFiction? This easily could've been a sweep. Maybe someone read my picks and decided to just bury 8BR tonight because of them, but they came out nicely tonight and didn't make those silly mistakes that cost them the PF match. Derek the only one in the 18-0 running now for PFN. Why I added that, I don't know. Maybe it's because he has taken Mick's spot as the anchor.

#4 Beer Ball Masters @ #9 Indian Pool
Game 1 - Tyler gave up the bih then complained because of Yahoo and had a tiny rant on Stingr for taking it, but oh well. Stingr made a nice cuebank later off the left rail and made the 1 in the bottom middle. Safeties started up again as they had all throughout the beginning. Tyler eventually comes out with the win though, and BBM begins up 1-0.
Game 2 - FearNo1 vs. ...Well, I'll tell you he played Elite Stealth Trooper but he purely smoked him. Fear ran 7 solids, made it look easy, no bangfest like the week 1 win, NOW I'll buy into him being a big shot for BBM. 2-0 Beer Ballers.
Game 3 - kidfromperu got great position on the 15-ball, and the final 7 to go were 6 stripes and the 8, as he blows right by IND's chinkish to give BBM the 3-0 advantage.
Game 4 - SiccNasty kept IND alive with a long safety game win. Last 5 balls aside from the 8 were his solids as he beats Coria.
Game 5 - one3g0d botched the match-winning 8 in the top left pocket, and Silent Assassin after a little confusion on the number of games he had (he was found eligible after checking no worries) got a chance to easily win it. But then HE choked an even easier shot on the 15 along the bottom rail, and BBM steals this game and they win the match it's 4-1.
Game 6 - ta.lent beat flykpboi to make it 5-1 BBM
Game 7 - Black_Man_For_You beats atsamxim, FINAL 5-2 BBM WINS? Well, maybe. There's some cam tape crap going on with the game 7, so we'll figure out all that tomorrow.
So, finally got to see Fear win a game without bashing the balls around like a D-III player. He looked damn impressive to say the very least. The more surprises BBM has up their sleeve the better. It should be noted though, Clogz (atsamxim) is now 0-2 on the season. IND, well, they sucked. Had a big chance to make this 3-2 and instead assassin totally screws up a gimme, even though it is that bottom left that seems to annoy people lately... IND needs a jump-start and they need it desperately. This cam tape won't really do much either way. I'm not the orld's biggest clogz fan but any time Navin loses (or even has a problem with a cam tape) gives me a tiny chuckle ;)

DIVISION III
#3 Bearskin Eightballers @ #6 Breakers Alley
Game 1 - lmb for some silly reason didnt use any power or spin and got stuck behind the 8 with 1 ball left. damnedlads took over but missed the long 8 shot, lmb finished making about the same shot damned missed, BA up 1-0.
Game 2 - 8 almost dropped early in the top middle, and then later terriberri made 4 straight stripes and then the 8 to give the Breakers the 2-0 advantage. Speaking of 2-0, that describes lmb and terriberri, as they also won last week.
Game 3 - rock missed a pretty much gimme with the 1 aiming bottom right. Dondie couldn't capitalize with 3 stripes left though, only making 2. Then rock for some dumb reason opened the 9ball wide open for dondie, but she blocked the 8's path to the easy bottom middle with the 3, forcing her to go bottom left with the 8 sitting dead center of the table. Still hit it, BE on the board but down 2-1.
Game 4 - e3m2d tied it by making 7 straight solids after 6 stripes were made, simple as that. Tied at 2. But BE ran out of players and timed out, they forfeit 3 and BA wins 5-2...
Kind of a shame to see what looked like a close 4-3 match end in 3 forfeits. But, that's what happens when you don't get enough players... At least they showed up though. Unlike... Others. The Breakers did start off strong once again though, and that 1-2 punch of lmb and terriberri seem to be getting the job done. Maybe this season! It should also be noted stoney would've been DQ'd for not having enough games over the past 7 days if BE had a 5th.

#2 Pool Loverz @ #9 Malditos
Game 1 - judge_mental_oz beat maradona.the_man to make it 1-0 PZ.
Game 2 - Juan outnumbered lebaneze in the end 3 stripes to 1 solid and soon after that happened it was practically over right? Wrong. Lebaneze makes a great shot on the 4ball when given the chance, and PZ steals this game to make it 2-0.
Game 3 - au_pair1982 7balls ll_paziii_ll to make it a dominant 3-0 lead to the Pool Loverz. Absolutely smoked him.
Game 4 - Cheex badly missed a bank attempt but redraider couldn't capitalize. He later ended up screwing himself over and Cheex was eventually able to put away the 8 to keep the match alive for MLD.
Game 5 - Guitar_and_Pen would be DQ'd against zbeersman because despite having over 10 games in the past 7 days, none were tourney games. But... PZ Captain judge decided to let them play it out anyways, and Guitar, while all this was going on lol, won the game so he DOES get the save. 3-2 instead of 4-1!
Game 6 - First 6 to fall were Girly's solids, but then imacd easily had control of the game. Lonely_Knight bitched about safeties, I'd like to think I did a decent job of shutting him up ^__^ After the 6 solids, came 7 stripes and just like that it's now 3-3!
Game 7 - Tino the Captain for MLD, Lonely_Knight for PZ. Tino short-rail cuebanked the 12 to the top right, Knight fluked in the 4 to the same pocket. Then he downed the 8. I must say I'm quite surprised... MLD was given a break by the PZ captain but never returned the favor. So final... 4-3 MLD wins.
Early 8 or no early 8, waived DQ or not, any time you go up 3-0, the WAY they went up 3-0, and lose... It's just awful. It seemed like an exact opposite of last week against the Breakers. I did like Malditos though. They forced the slowplay on PZ late, and I think part of the reason Knight dropped that 8 was because those safeties earlier took him out of his game slightly. It's easy to shoot when you're having fun and thinking about the game. Not so easy when you're complaining about a safety.

Better night than I thought it would be, slightly. Still waiting on the whole Clogz-Navin game from BBM-IND, I'll update that in the comments and fix the stats if I have to.
Wednesday Predictions
DIVISION I
#8 8Ball Runners @ #7 Pool Fiction - PFN looked like ass against PF, to be frank. They made constant mistakes, only won 2 games, and even if it is the #1 team, and defending champs, there's just no need for that for a team like PFN. 8BR appears to be on the rise, but they did need a DQ to win last week against just IND. So it will be an amusing matchup I'm, sure. Is there really any "aura" around PFN or now that a lot of the sharpshooters have gone are they just average? I think it's the latter, 8BR wins 4-3.
#4 Beer Ball Masters @ #9 Indian Pool - Speaking of IND, they take on BBM. It should be entertaining but I'd take BBM anyday. Of course, BBM would be 0-1 if LuckyDog didn't go Week 1 S4 Luis on everyone, twice, but I definitely think BBM is one of the top dogs in D-I and they'll show it tonight with a 5-2 win. I don't say much about this matchup because... it shouldn't even be as close as 5-2. That, and I'm eating, playing Pokemon XD, and generally feeling weird.
DIVISION III
#3 Bearskin Eightballers @ #6 Breakers Alley - Simple post: BA, are they for real this time where the competition is more even, or was Week 1 yet another typical Week 1 BA close call and they go win the usual 2-3 matches, not beating any top teams? Bearskins of course are yet to play a match so... says bet, 5-2 BE.
#2 Pool Loverz @ #9 Malditos - They take #9 and Quez gets #8 purely based on random seeding since they've replaced leagues and I don't care to adjust my ranks mid-week. I think Malditos have shown they're a very good team in other interleagues, and Pool Loverz... Haven't really proven much of anything to me. They won last week. Great. Against BA... 4-3... down 3-1... PZ has some good players but I'll take Malditos to win 4-3.
Decent night, the D-III matches will probably suck, I'm not expecting anything great from D-I but you never know I guess... Now to wait about 80 minutes :)
