Old results, no picks until Thursday. Wednesday's matches look that bad.
TPL_h2o.0nly - DP_bar.wars (W) - Tap.war early and often in this one. Didn't see much of it though. I was dealing with my PC :/
TPL_xllx_rob_xllx - DP_m_a_r_k_y_s (W) - Marky gets revenge at least on TPL, after losing to their cerebral.aftermath in the BLT final, by downing 7 stripes and the 8, all in a row, throughout the duration of a pretty long game. Is this really happening? DP up 2-0?
TPL_cataphrakt (W) - DP_im_not_quite_right - Tommy (quite right) drops the 8 early... Not much else to say about this one... 2-1, DP still ahead.
TPL_cerebral.aftermath (W) - DP_do_ur_best1 - 4:39 used off the timer before best finally got in... I mentioned marky losing in the finals of the Tour Sunday, it was this guy - Pete. Ben gets the benefit of a glitch to snook Pete, almost turns into a run off ball in hand. Later able to drop the 9-ball top middle with a little pizazz. His 2 remaining stripes though would get bunched up with Pete's 3 solids. Early in the ensuing safety battle, Pete gains a decisive advantage and it's all gravy from there. Runs out, makes the 8, we're tied at 2.
TPL_p_o_l_i_c_e_lvl_a_n (W) - DP_xlx_grey_xlx - Slow safety battle here, right from the break... And similar to Marky in game 2, it would be the po-po (lol slangs) eventually making the final 8 balls of the game (7 solids and the 8,) as TPL rallies off a THIRD straight win, after falling behind 0-2. For the idiots out there, that makes it 3-2 TPL.
TPL_noobified - DP_god_is_ryan (S) - Travis trying to clinch it, and complete a 4-game streak in this match... Safeties himself with 3 solids left. Couldn't make anything happen out of it, leaving Ryan with an open table and an easy run. FINALLY DreamPool gets their 3rd win, and we're tied at 3 going to game 7!
TPL_xlx_extreme.perfection_xlx (D) - DP_lvlr_degrassislam@sbcglobal.net - So it all comes down to the two captains. They'd play on cam, and they'd play slow. Koty would be the first to get a decent look at a run. He'd pass it up. After a really puzzling shot by Mario, giving Koty bih, he'd try to bash it up and run. 13... 10... 11... backspins into the 8 and gets stuck in the middle of the table, with no shot on the 12! He would leave Mario pretty much a gimme run - a run he'd actually pass up. So Koty went to work on blocking.WITH BALL IN HAND, Mario tried to foolishly tap one of his balls, while almost frozen to it... Didn't get it! Koty able to squeeze the 12 by Mario's 1, top middle... But BARELY missed leaving the 8. He'd have to bank 2 rails to touch... Just short! Mario apparently learned his lesson - he'd start running. But again, he just can't figure out what the hell he's doing, takes a high glitch % shot and it almost cost him the game right there, trying to cut the 3-ball top right. Koty would safety... If Mario can smash the 7 home, then run the 3 along the bottom left rail, he can come up and knock the 2 away from the 8 and essentially win. Hit the 7 hard enough: Check. Make the 3: Check. Break it up: NO! He'd have to safety again. 2 and the 8 on the top rail, 8 just a bit off the rail actually... Just a game of who's gonna screw up first. This was such a great finish. FINALLY, Mario hit the 2 just a tad bit too hard, left the open 8... Koty drains it, and after all that, TPL wins it 4-3.
other scores from Monday and Tuesday night - 8BR destroys NHP 6-1, Straightshots do the same to Magic Pool, and Lucky Shots hold off a Breakers Alley comeback bid to win 5-2.
