Week 13 Tour

Not a whole Tour summary though, two people were going for records. Pool Hustler aka_pomking going for the skill rating and win streak records, as was Absolute Finest's fire_wolf87, Pom came in with a +14, and 188-something I honestly forgot lol, fire wolf 1879, and he had the +16 streak in a tie with jammy, king james, and damn_balls who got to 16 this season.

And so we start with round 1...HP's Chuck_Money against DreamPooler ViperVo to face pomking, LuckyPooler the_l0ser_l0ser against Quez's miz to face fire-wolf. Chuck Money would advance, as would miz as l0ser couldn't shoot with the lag caused by Cam. So it's set... Chuck_Money against pomking, miz against fire_wolf.

Round 2: Pomking takes care of Chuck fairly easily at the end, and Chris is +15. Fire-wolf however, against miz, miz went for an unnecessary bank, gave Nick ball in hand, and he, don't, mess, these, up. And you're now looking at the new all-time win streak leader AF_fire-wolf87 at +17. So Pomking 15 - 17 fire_wolf.

Round 3: fire_wolf gets PO's aka_chris_soccer, pomking draws LuckyPooler Colonel_KC. Pommy ends up losing to Colonel, ending the streak, stopping Pom at an 1888 skill rating, dropped him to 1840 and of course -1. Fire_wolf...Ohhh he's still goin. Beats aka_chris_soccer and he is +18...Man I can only imagine the rating after all that. So now we're just watching Nick because ph-alex did not end up playing and going for the skill rating.

Round 4: Back to back Outlaws this time it's MJ, this time it's +19. Nick nailing the nice bank off the bottom rail to top right, and my goodness these are Nintendo stats! +19, and a 1911 skill rating! Don, your record is gone, and that rhymes pretty well.

Round 5: Semi-finals, against PikachuKicks of Tour Points-leading PoolMasters, that's ehkohz for the uninformed. The win streak finally ends as Missy wins after a fire_wolf scratch, bad way to lose a streak but damn...an impressive 19-game win streak, 2v2, thrown game by Luis or not, it's still impressive.

But even more impressively, he finishes with a 1911 Skill Rating, 4 more than Don's all-time high, a record I honestly thought would never be broken. Reason: This is MLP, you're looking at a 1 vs. 1 every Sunday, 1 other game per week, and a 2 vs. 2 only once a month. This isn't like npa where a 2000 Skill Rating isn't even an accomplishment because every time you go on messenger you have offlines of people asking for p's for a teamer. So 1911 is definately an amazing accomplishment, and what's better from my standpoint, is it wasn't a big-mouth who broke it. It wasn't some idiot who can't lose a game without pissing and moaning, or miss a shot without going "OMFG WTF BS" etc., he's an automatic vote for All-Star I think especially with this. Now he can rest a little, now that he has the record off his shoulders, and the focus now shifts to MadSkillz. Will ph-alex be able to make a run at fire_wolf's 1911 rating? He's idle at 1905. Would be nice to save those tapes from tonight, copy 'em to a DVD or something if he wants to, because an accomplishment like this doesn't happen very often. Again congrats to fire_wolf87 of AbsoluteFinest, a good player, and not just because of his shooting skills, he has a great attitude about it as well.

DVD line was a joke kids -_-

Week 13 Spotlight Matches

I hope for no MZ-LPLs.

Monday: Pool Legends @ Absolute Finest - Wins needed big-time for both teams. Legends are playing 2nd fiddle to ChampionsPool while AF is barely holding on to their Mountain Division lead. The big criticism of AF has been that they can't beat tough teams. The fact that PF didn't really have much of a team at all doesn't help AF's case any but you can't change that they are 10-2, they've got a player who can potentially break the win streak record in fire_wolf87 if he doesn't try tonight, and again who cares that Luis tossed a game for Nick's 16th straight? A win is a win, as long as the game was played. So again best wishes to fire_wolf87 as he goes to put his name among the great win streaks in MLP. Of course...ph-alex from MadSkillz going for the Skill Rating, and PH's pomking could break BOTH of those Sunday night, with a bonkers 3RD Cam Jump in a row. Wild week in store!

Tuesday: BeerBall Masters @ Hot Shotz - Both teams coming off losses last week, BBM needs to start winning again to keep pace with ChampionsPool and Pool Legends, while HotShotz needs wins to fend off a LuckyPool team who will be guaranteed their most wins in their 3-season MLP Career, still hungry for a Playoff spot. BBM headline dof course by pretty much the only player who has played all season with the team, Ivey, and Hot Shotz has a guy, you may have heard of him, Glenno who has shown up lately and shown up well. He's a clutch shooter, HS' best bet for a 3-3 situation, and they may very well need him here. What a match it figures to be.

Wednesday: ChampionsPool @ Pool Hustlers - Because I'm umping. Actually it's because PH nearly got rocked by Break and Run last week, and it was directly because they got arrogant. BNR had PH dead to rights in game 7 after Cory blew it, but the Hustlers ended up stealing the win. ChampionsPool 2 weeks ago got out with a win over Pool Legends, and then they had a confidence-builder against Pool Pimps where they got a 6-1 win, 2-3 of the games went on timer. I still think l3lazer's getting screwed by PLP's brilliant (rolls eyes) admins, but that's another story for another time. You cannot fall asleep on CHP or players like mjaust will make you pay. Look for another dogfight for PH.

Thursday: PoolFighters @ Pool Masters - PF needs to get a team this week. They've clinched a Playoff spot, yes they probably won't win the Division over the Regs, but they have not clinched a solid seed yet. Until they do, they need to keep showing up with a good team and need to keep trying to win matches. Last week was a pathetic example of that. I'm surprised Jeff didn't have to play. Pool Masters are looking to catch Absolute Finest and...Who would've thought PoolMasters would be cheering for Pool Legends? Heh...Stranger things have happened. dynamite_que vs. Luis, wouldn't that be quite the matchup? Luis could very well be PF's All-Star, he hasn't been at every match but I would say he's the nicest good player on the team. That's yet to be decided though.

And so, 4 great matches, and a bunch more that will be just as good. Don't forget tonight in the Tour fire_wolf, pomking, and ph-alex will all have chances to get to the top of a list, and of course pomking could break BOTH records tonight. It'll certainly be something to see.
