Thursday predictions!
Ok first off id like to apologise to those of you who only read this blog for predictions/results i realise that they have been very slack this week due to different matters and what not. However i do feel the issues raised below were important and took precedent over other stuff, if i'd had time to do both i would have but its been a busy week! So carry on posting below but now back into the thick of it. Full lineup tonight, should be a cracker!
Jkr (3-0) @ Ckp (2-1) 6pm
Good match to start tonight, once again we see the steamrolling jokers in action against the plodding keepers! Will we see a close match tonight? i doubt it! These jokers have come in and taken season 6 by storm, not only have they picked up 3 wins but during those 3 wins theyve only dropped 3 games! Yes 3, giving them the best regular season record to date! So 3 dropped in 3 matches how can keepers take 4 in 1? Simple answer they can't. Im sure Rob will bring a strong team to this one but in the end he will be outmatched in every department. 6-1 Jkr
Po (2-1) @ Rp (2-1) 7pm
A surprising win against bp along with a bye have seen rp off to a decent start, they are a tight group and can keep up with most teams. Players like hangustavo offer very good chances of picking up wins here and there throughout the season. Tonight however see's them up against a vengeful outlaws side! After a quite unbelievable loss to brit pool, outlaws won't be going easy tonight. I don't say unbeleivable in the context of it bp aren't good enough to beat outlaws, i say it because of the way the outlaws lost. With 2 missed 8 shots and a rr offered which was l8r lost it could be argued bp were more than fortunate. With that in mind im sure jamie will be making sure there are no mistakes this week! 5-2 Po
Oph (1-2) @ Qz (1-2) 8pm
Two teams still struggling with season 6, both desperate for that win which will start their seasons! Oph have had a bit of a kick in the teeth this week with former admin aka_cerebro moving to the already stacked pool legends! However don't for one second think this is a move for glory hunting, this is once again a move which shows just how excellant the pl league is. Anyway enough of pl they come later! Can cole roll off the back of last weeks vic @ ckp and give the qz boys a real headache! Kevin i assume is less than happy with qz's start to the season and will be desperate for the team to start playing like reigning ws champs. If paul and james can get on their game tonight i reckon kevin will be the happier man. Very close one, look for a game 7 here! 4-3 qz
Pl (3-0) @ Ph (3-0) 9pm
Superb starts to the season for both teams here, a tiny scare for pl last week against bnr but pulling out those hard fought victories shows the signs of the best teams! Hustlers have come into this season without any expectation of success and beaten the critics to have a rolling +3 streak! Can it continue? i would like to say yes but i just can't see it happening. You only have to look at the depth of this pl outfit to realise they are going to take some stopping! While ph don't have depth they do have 7 good players! These players are capable of beating pl players but in an overall match and given the situation i think pl will take this with room to spare. 5-2 Pl
Well its been a hell of a week with no fewer than seven 4-3 games! One last thing id like to draw your attention to is it once again appears sc has found a rival! To Sum Up
Ok all, thanks for all your comments. Its plain to see there is a definite 50/50 split on the cam jump debate. I'd just like to say that the cam jump will not be scrapped, this was just a debate i wished to start and see what the members of mlp thought about the issue. On that subject as cubby posted earlier, as well as this being the place to check out predictions and results this is also an area for those not happy with mlp for 1 reason or another to come and express their views! The same can work for those who feel something good happened and want to express gratitude or inform others! I myself feel this should be a place that opinions roam free and comments made shouldn't have any direct implications on what happens to any individual in mlp. We have seen recently that this is unfortunately not the case, even so i would like to tell anyone that if they have any serious issues and are willing to express them, if i deem it worthy i will post it here for you! Back to the cam jump!!
From what i gather from the posts a lot of plus things were said about the cam jump! "Still fun", "still hard" and other such comments. At the end of the day it is down to the individual as to their personal preference and as chris said as long as it remains over 30 or there about it should still be run! This doesn't take away the fact the cam jump has seen a definite decline and i think many of you hit the nail on the head! Reg and Cam are now equal points!!! So... what to do as an individual? Should i enter the cam jump, possibly have fun but not gain many points! Or should i enter the 100+ reg jump, again possibly have fun and possibly gain more points!! That is the situation facing those who enjoy the cam jump but want the best for their team! Heres my suggestion, i feel the blt is more an individual aspect of mlp, yes your achievments help your team and untimetely could give your team a trophy however, i feel those of you that jump blt do it for yourselves. You play the trny for fun and you all damn well want to win it. Obviously for most it isn't the be all and end all, winning is just a bonus! I feel as well as having the team in the back of your mind you have to follow whichever jump preference you prefer and don't let points sway you.
On the points issue, if cam were to go to double points im sure we would see a huge following of reg jumpers switch back to cam and heres why!! While blt is an individual thing the points you gain for your league are a good bonus! While the cam jump isnt double points people feel it isnt worth the agro of taping your game, sitting around and waiting to be cleared etc etc. This is why there are so many reg jumpers! However if it were double points many people would feel it is worth jumping cam for the extra points you can make for your team! What is the difference between the jumps??? NONE!! you play the same game, all you do in the cam is record a portion of your screen and bang you have an extra point, so many view the extra point worth the wait for a cleared tape! Here starts a new debate should the cam jump be worth that extra point??
I don't want to see reasons like, yes- it would bring back numbers in the cam jump. yes - recording your screen and proving your legit is worthy of more points! I want valid good reasons for bringing the double point system back! Are there any?? Who knows?
