Week 4: EZ8Pool

Week 8: c.hode

For the asshole... It was basically take your pick between a number of people from EZ8 as once again they get pissy over a loss. This time it's PM. I'm looking forward to next season already. With any luck they'll be out. For POTW, heavymetalisbest continues to play every week BP has a match and he continues to win every week. Last week he picked up a save in the 6-1 beatdown at the hands of CKP, this week he clinched the match against PL's luckydog. Sure he caught some breaks, but who doesn't? He has been, pretty easily, the AL MVP. Cal is a very close 2nd so far at this point though.

So uh... Pool Loverz? All of a sudden judge_mental_oz apparently quits and they win a couple in a row? Is that coincidence or do they have a player who can win now in his place? Knocking PFN around is one thing, but to prove it wasn't a fluke by bringing 6 players, having 1 DQd, and STILL beating CZ? Amazing.

United Nations of Yahoo are finally settled into MLP it seems. After the first couple weeks of basically being Byes for other teams, they've been getting eligible players to show up and after having a win stolen from them by PM last week... They follow through with it this week as they knock of CKP.

BritPool is for real. They play the aforementioned UNY guys this upcoming week, and as much as they're improving... BritPool should roll through this one. They had a very weak team this past week, and Roy had to struggle to find even 6 players that could play. He did, and BP knocked off previously-unbeaten Pool Legends 4-3. It was over in game 5 when heavymetal beat Sova. BritPool will be the #2 or #3 seed when the Playoffs come around. Book it. They've already just about ruined my projected standings.

Vulnerable teams this week: EZ8. No, DreamPool isn't good but let's be honest.... Neither are LuckyShots or Pool Loverz and they both won this past week. EZ8 has maybe 3 players who don't bitch at each other after a loss, and who shut the hell up when things go badly. They don't continue to piss and moan, etc. They already lost one, again. Another's on very thin ice, and Tom has the unenviable task of trying to run that team. The difference between Tom and Keith, for those who are curious? Tom actually tries.

PoolFiction are also very vulnerable. They lost to Pool Loverz (and it was worse than the 4-3 score indicates) and then an 8BR team that didn't even bring their top guns to the match. PFN is on upset watch alongside EZ8 this week.

Match of the week: I don't think there is any question, at all. 8Ball Runners @ Malditos. 3-way tie held by CZ currently in the NL, Cheap Shotz are gonna roll Blazing Cues this week, so this is a big game. Malditos beat 8BR earlier this season. Cheap Shotz beat both 8BR AND Malditos. The winner here is going to be either #1 or #2 in the NL, with the loser battling PoolFiction for #3 as the season goes on. If 8BR puts out the lineup they had this past week, they'll lose no worse than 5-2. I have a feeling, though, that we'll see the likes of Andy, and Coma, etc. and believe me... They will need them. Even still, I'm going with Malditos on this one, 4-3. I think this particular week MLD will bring bettr players, overall, than 8BR does. But this match truly does hinge on who shows up and who doesn't.

Big League Tour... Something I generally don't care about when posting these... Cue Keepers a big win in the 2v2 this Friday as Pommy and no_ta.lent (teehee!) came out on top. They are within 50 of the 8Ball Runners for the lead (159 for 8BR) Looks like we may, possibly, have a race here for a change...
