Week 2 Picks!

Alright so Bam and I have decided to go head-to-head the rest of the way. I'd have bugged Jeremy about it but his status said he was doing something important so I left him alone :s

Fookin Tuna @ Cheap Shotz

CUBBY: CZ won their match 5-2... Fookin Tuna... Didn't win their match 5-2 last week. In fact they lost 5-2. Then again, it IS 8BR. And CZ only beat Pool Masters. hart won't run his mouth like a little girl the rest of the season, he knows the repercussions if he does. That makes things a lot easier for Mickey and CZ because they can focus on the game and not what they'll say when they lose. I think CZ, as inconsistent as I think they'll be this year, win 4-3. I say 4-3 only because I don't think their top 7 will be there.

BAM: i think im going to take CZ 4 FT 3...cz just has better players here. cz seems to have a solid 7 but if pita chooses not to play for them in reg season, it could turn out bad not having another dependable player, i could see this ending in game 6..however if FT plays there players right, they might make it a game 7 decider.

Britpool @ Straight Shots

CUBBY: Straight Shots did NOT waste any time getting their first win of the season. They rudely welcomed in the newcomers True Pool Legends with a clinch in just 5 games, but they did only win 4-3. That COULD be a bit alarming. BritPool got smacked around by Pool Legends, but I don't expect that to continue. A new captain is simply getting accustomed to the team and how to handle them in MLP. I think he'll have a better understanding of how to do so, and BP wins the 2nd 4-3 decision of the week.

BAM: i think bp is going to arrive this week with a chip on their shoulder after the hard loss they received last week..this will finally be a test for ss to see how good they are against a decent bp team. i think Bp wins this one 5-2

8Ball Runners @ Cue Keepers

CUBBY: I expect CKP and 8BR to split their season series. IF Mick plays consistently this season (especially all the big games) the Keepers are looking at a high seed in the American League. THIS one, however, should go to 8BR. They are so tough, Cue Keepers looked awful against Breakers Alley but still came away with the win buckling down at JUST the right moment. Chris is a good game 7 player, but I don't see CKP being able to take it that far. They do get ck from 8BR though. That could probably change this match a bit. I still think 8BR wins 5-2.

BAM: what do we have here, the 2 top predicted leagues in the american league are playing each other... well we got talent vs talent here flip a coin. heads for 8br tails for ckp. damn i got heads ten times in a row. looks like 8br is going to win this one but how close is this match going to be ? no idea.. whoever shows up and makes the least mistakes is guaranteed too win this one.. id like to see a game 7 decider here, but i just dont see it happening. 8br 4 ckp 3

UnitedPool @ Pool Masters

CUBBY: UP said they'd come in and make noise early. Well, they beat a weak UNY team 5-2 so take it for what it's worth. This week, it doesn't get much tougher. Pool Masters aren't exactly the definition of "deep" when it comes to players. They have some good ones though. I expect UnitedPool, though, to keep boosting the ol' confidence. 5-2 vic' for UP.

BAM: Up beat Uny last week 5-2... while pm was spanked by cz 2-5... wow this could be another good match..i dont know if drevv is playing but if he were to this could be an exciting match.. however up has more solid players in there lineup and i dont think ill have to worry about them to show up.. im taking UP 4 PM 3

Lucky Shots @ True Pool Legends

CUBBY: LS is at least respectable. You have to give them that. Jesse and co. have a couple players who can get wins, only lost 4-3 to Malditos, you get the sense they'll win at least a few matches. I like them to get a win here. It'll probably be 4-3 or 5-2. I wasn't necessarily impressed with TPL... Nobody really did anything great, even in the final couple games they salvaged in the SS match.

BAM: LS pulled out 3 wins from a solid mld team while TPL fought there way back to get 3 wins vs a questionable SS team. since this is MLP and not "pro" im going to take LS 4 TPL 3

Pool Loverz @ Malditos

CUBBY: MLD 5-2. This isn't the PZ PRO team we're talking here, and they're not even the real deal there either. They did hang tough with Poolfiction for 4-5 games last week, and Malditos you never know... But 5-2 is taking into account that their best 7 won't be around for MLD. Still, anytime you have Miz and Neo on a team, you instantly become a heavy favorite with almost guaranteed 2 wins. BUT, that doesn't mean the rest of the league is anything all that special.

BAM: The Malditos are coming off a good win vs luckyshots and i expect them to beat PZ the same way.. PZ didnt come ready to play last week... if they come ready this week, this might be another exciting match but i just dont see it happening...i bet i can guarantee u that MiZ plays in their first opportunity to clinch this match..this match ends in game 6 MLD 5 PZ 2

Pool Legends @ Poolfiction

BAM: This week you'll be able to count on all of PFN's players to bring their A game. PL is going to get beat in game 5. somehow pl has always seemed to be a top notch team. but thats about to change as this week they will be getting the spanking. PFN wins! PFN 5 PL 2

Breakers Alley @ United Nations of Yahoo

CUBBY: Phil goes to Breakers Alley, they get lucky and narrowly lose to CKP in 7, 4-3. I don't expect the LUCK to continue, but I think they'll win without that luck. I think overall they are a better team than UNY is, until I see them play well, and will squeak out the 4-3 dubya.

Also, a quick congratulations to PFN's Stu (who I will now call Stewie because I can) on winning this week's Big League Tour! Not a bad way to start his tenure with PFN :O
