Monday Predictions

Oh we are in week 9 and things are just flat-out getting exciting. Closer races at the #4 spots in the Divisions than the #1 spots, or maybe it's because those are the ones I wanna pay attention to. Every season there's always some "magic moment" if you will when it comes to the playoffs. The only ever 4-way tie back in Season 2 between LPL, SCPG, Cue Killers, and Breakers Alley for the Wildcard spots... In season 3 LPL again shocked everybody, rallying off 4 wins in their final 4 matches, to rob SCPG and Cue Keepers of a Playoff spot, and then...the greatest run of 'em all. A 1-5 start to the season, BlackSilver chalks up a 7-0 record in the final 7 weeks to slap PoolMasters in the face, who by the way they did beat late in that 7-game stretch, and you talk about highway robbery...That was it right there. PM clearly in the Playoffs that season, and out of absolutely nowhere, BAM they're in, as one of only 2 teams (Outlaws being the other) who went in from the Mountain Division. So who will do it this season? Will 1-7 StraightShots pull off some insane miracle? Will SuperbPool pull off an unbelievable upset on PoolFiction and rally to make it? Will BlackSilver pull off the same kind of magic they did last season? Or will Break and Run finally make the Playoffs in what could be redhot's final season as a captain? Well...the closing weeks of this season will hold all the answers. One thing can be expected though...As history tells us: Expect the unexpected.

XPool @ DreamPool - Well, we've certainly had to expect the unexpected from DreamPool this season. They start off strong, 3-0 including a great 0-3 comeback against BritPool...but then PoolFiction goes to their room and absolutely slaps them around. The same thing happens the very next week against 8Ball Runners, squeak out a win over SuperbPool, get spanked 6-1 AGAIN by Quez, then let out some frustration with a 6-1 pimpslapping of UnitedPool last week. Have they finally snapped back into that early season form they had? I think they will, but only if their attitude changes. There's more to winning than playing good. if you constantly run your mouth like a couple or a few DP players do, you'll end up distracting yourself and in some cases your own teammates, and boom you get bent over for a 1-6 loss. XPool has been a hard team to put down, even for PoolFiction. They were awful against the Outlaws last week, but they're a team that can rebound from that kind of thing. I think DreamPool's talent far outweighs XPool's, and they'll win 5-2. But don't be shocked one bit if XP takes a win here. DreamPool isn't a team that you can rely on to win when they're supposed to. It's shown through this season, the only question is can they overcome that for this week?

UnitedPool @ BritPool - Interesting matchup here. BritPool a rather underachieving team this season. Last season, they were about as good as their 4-9 record. This season they are better than their 2-6 record, and last season's 4-9 record. I think BritPool will be playing in June in that Wildcard round, and it has to, absolutely has to start tonight. UnitedPool has actually done well this season despite the fact that badking hasn't won a game since Bob Barker last made love to a woman. That has rested on a few players: pauls_gift_to_you has been good in the matches, iceman has only 1 win in MLP but it was very impressive, gooner, and of course...The biggest name on that team, ketan. But they also have to contend with the likes of a slavko, oldlady with attitude, river blake, and dragnlord62. Forest_hill, he usually plays game 1 if he's available then has to get back to work, if he plays he needs to win. If you want badking to get out of this slump, he needs to be playing game 1 against this guy, or he may be -16 if he plays anyone else. If I'm Jan and Jai, I tell forest that if he plays he should expect a tough battle. I like BritPool in this match though, with badking serving as the David Wells of UP, he may take up a roster spot tonight and again fail to produce a win, BritPool can win this one 4-3 and I think they will do that.

Pool Masters @ Breakers Alley - Congrats PM you're now 6-3 on the season.

MadSkillz @ ElitePool - Well, MadSkillz have been amazing, ugly, so-so, then they rolled up WildAngels into the shape of a baseball and sent them into orbit like Doug Mirabelli did to Mussina today. But ElitePool are not to be taken lightly. They took Quez to a 3-3 situation, even in the face of some dumbass QZ players acting like...just that. In fact, ethal02 had Kevin almost dead to rights until kev dropped in a Tiger Woods-like cuebank, that you couldn't even make if you tried it a few dozen times. So now, Kansas, UltimateHack, Tintin, Scott, and ethal need to reload for another war, this one against MZ. They'll of course be led by king hustler, Pete, Champ Chris if he's able to show, they've got Alex from PH, he's a solid player, scubzz is quite a player as well, there are plenty others. But this could be a very close match, has a lot of the makings, but MadSkillz I think will come out in top form, and they'll pull a 5-2 win.

LuckyPool @ BlackSilver - This reminds me of the AbsoluteFinest match BS had...I said they had a legitimate chance to beat them, and they put up a fight. Here we are again, a better record, in BS' room, yet BlackSilver can legitimately beat them, especially because LuckyPool hasn't been what they were early in this season. They've fallen to 4-3, still have a game to make up and I think it's stupid they're not making it up sooner than later, hanging out in their room a little on non-MLP nights kinda makes me wonder how they can't get a team for a makeup match, but...if they'd rather blow the chance to gain confidence by beating a team they should be able to beat, that's on them. I'm personally hoping hero, Eddie, Monkey, rich, and l3oti, along with the vast BlackSilver team that they have, it comes from being a good captain and giving those who play in the league a chance to play, and they may be able to turn something around here. If they win this match, instead of looking at this and saying "oh crap we have a sucky 2 wins" they can say "look guys we just pulled to within a game of a team, they're still struggling, we can make Season 4 happen all over again let's do it!" I think BlackSilver, not LuckyPool, will win this match. B & S to take it 5-2.
