First matches in the bag
We begin with BritPool and 8Ballrunners. Heavy favorites, of course, in Hill's Pick 'Em 5 of 42 people picked BritPool...I guess that means they have none chance...none.
Game 1: BP_BP8Ball vs. 8BR_runningwildhorses - First game of the MLP season, buckle up keep your rulers inside the vehicle at all times. BP wanting to run this first good chance he gets, looks to be an easy run, everything perfect until...cueball stuck behind the 8. He has a stripe hanging over the edge of the bottom middle if he can just go 2 rails and hit it...he'll go 4 rails and hit nothin but felt. So, runningwildhorses, running...But he doomed it all a few shots before he scratched, trying to finish his final 2 balls. So, the BritPooler getting another chance with 2 stripes 0 problem. Gets the perfect touch on his final shot before the 8, BritPool's up 1-0.
Game 2: BP_xlx_mad_player_xlx vs. 8br_xlx_dangle_xlx - Can the runners tie it up? They're not supposed to be losing! Early on, dangle gets safetied and fouls, also making the mad player's ball. From there it's time to....make a couple balls and try it again. This time, dangle, who by the way is otherwise known as dazed447, has the 5ball hang in the bottom right. Mad player again, should be able to make something happen with some follow through and some power, uses neither, just makes a 14-5 combo, handing the stick back to dazed. After a great safety, he'd get ball in hand, it would repeat a couple times. So fast forward, no ball in hand, 3 balls left, el perfecto on the first, wouldn't disappoint on the rest, though he did give 8BR multiple heart attacks. We be tied at uno-uno.
Game 3: BP_oldlady_with_attitude vs. 8BR_copenhagen8us - Whew, 1-1, game 3, we're in for one exciting thriller baby! Yeah we've got 2 solid spotted by copenhagen here comes the run! Oldlady won't get a shot unbelievable! ...That's because 3rd shot from copehagen, 8ball goes, you lose cya later try again next week it's now 2-1 BritPool? Is that right?
Game 4: BP_river_blake vs. 8BR_KASHandTASH - Things are starting to get a little scurry. The game will be featured on the new "safety first" posters. Not a very exciting adrenaline rush like the last one, until the end. Blake trying to finish a few balls, but he gets trapped next to his own stripe. He plays a good useful safety. On the ensuing shot from kash...cuebank it's right on lineeeeeeeeeeeeee yikes. Missed it by ii the distance between those i's. Blake wouldn't miss, BritPool happy he came from CueKeepers. 3-1 I repeat, 3-1 BritPool.
Game 5: BP_Jamie_1499 vs. 8BR_Trouble4some - Unfortunately I couldn't pay a ton of attention to this game because I had to move stuff around the house but I can tell you Tyler (Trouble) almost finished off the table, but couldn't and had to settle for an intentional foul on his 8ball shot, Jamie would just make a bunch of balls in a bunch of shots, and oh by the way the score's now 4-1 BritPool! Yep, that's 5 happy people and a whole lot of shocked angry guys...Just like the OJ trial.
Game 6: BP_BP1981 vs. 8BR_mspoolpro - I was watching the MadSkillz-Outlaws match however I can tell you mspoolpro would win this game, making the score 4-2 BritPool.
Game 7: BP_dragnlord62 vs. 8BR_mike_scop - Again, didn't pay attention, mike did win, Final Score: 4-3 BritPool. They had it locked up in 5, yikes. Uuuuuuugly.
Moving along, skipping BS-HS that was Shayne's match I'm sure he'll be along sometime with a few comments on it, let's skip MZ-PO as well for the moment and join PoolMasters and PoolPimps in game 4 with the score 2-1 Masters. Previous results by the way: ice1001 (PM) beats elise_b7 (PLP) name sound familiar? She used to run MLP. CRAZY_QUE (PM) beats the_wenger (PLP). Finally, potnballs04 (PLP) beats b_l_u_e_83 (PM).
Game 4: PM_MRSR_pool_perfection vs. PLP_l3lazer_fan_plp - Game on. Blazer fan looking good here it's comeback time l3lazer style...No it's not. Has to safety a little, moments later he's reporting. 5-solid and 8ball run puts the Masters on the hill, it's 3-1 Masters.
Game 5: PM_Luckydog71 vs. PLP_sc0rpeo_khan - 2 stripes, timer, time up, game over, 4-1 Masters. Need I say more?
Game 6: PM_bencoggon vs. PLP_...well it's jace441 - Remember the latter name because you will not see anything else about this player until next week. Why? Break nets nothing, ben goes to work and unlike Ben Roethlisberger, he ended what he started on a good note, 7 balls, and 1, and hey coach PLAY ME IN THE PLAYOFFS. 5-1 Masters man it's ugly.
But it's not over, Game 7: PM_FlyGirl_54 vs. PLP_hvymetalchic18 - This one, was just an ugly ending. hvymetalchic easy shot to set up 8, judges power like a French olympic judge, scratches. FlyGirl, takes her time, chic not happy,plays a miserable safety. Ballgame over? No let's add to that misjudgement of power, let's add the word "choke". So, FlyGirl gets another shot, with 1 stripe left, and now FlyGirl pauses to celebrate Valentine's Day, finally shoots, and after all that, leaves herself with a tough, tough cut. Approximate time of shot: 3 minutes. Ensuing shot, about 3 and a half, for the mathematically challenged that is 2 shots in about 6 and a half minutes. But hey it pays to check the shot over a few extra times, she got the win didn't she? Final Score: 6-1 Masters, congratulations you're #1 in MLP technically. After the match, supposedly a poolpimp not happy with the ump, but ya gotta admit when you're umping an ugly one-sided blowout, it's hard to stay on track for all 7 games.
Match of the night time, MadSkillz and the Outlaws, let's first talk...about the talk. Dan in an interview with Chris said quote "this team on paper is easily the best, I don't even think u can put a better 7 if you tried in the entire MLP ... I personally feel unbeatable in MLP." End of quotes, yes I just selected a few because throughout this summary we'll play True or False.
Game 1: MZ_kornmasta vs. PO_aka_chris_soccer - I didn't get to see much of this game either, I do however know kornmasta won, and the score was 1-0 MadSkillz.
Game 2: MZ_Khorne_Champion_99 vs. PO_Full_Blast - Remember this guy? Played with Pool Hustlers, was arguably one of their top 3 players, so how would he match up here? Well the Outlaws don't wanna fall down 0-2. Safety battle early off the break, little glitcharoo, we'll rerack it. On the rerack, Khorne goes for a bank, makes Full's solid, and at that point gg plz rpt. Full Blast runs the rest of the table, we're tied.
Game 3: MZ_x8x_mad_killer_x8x vs. PO_MJ_Tha_King - Still no True or False answers. Mad Killer making the first moves, going for a run, nothing doing. MJ tries his luck, no that's not good enough either. MJ drops off two solids, 1 most likely intentional, and quite unlucky. Though that would continue, killer with full topspin, that means the english cursor is all the way up, that's where the cueball goes after contact, all the way up, and makes the final solid of MJ's on the way back down. So, he'd just play a safety. MJ one more chance it's all or nothing on the bank, starting from the far left, going across the table with the cueball, banking the 8 top to bottom right...YO...That was close but not close enough. Killer wins it. 2-1 MadSkillz lead.
Game 4: MZ_mr_clutch2005 vs. PO_XxXxAustinxXxX - Yes that's Champion Chris, as far as I know. Austin early knocks off 4 stripes, he also knocks off the 8. Yep...ya gotta make all 7 of those first. Chris though says hey, I beat Austin in my sleep. He reracks, and he's gonna run, the...No. Missed a simple straightshot, that happens on night 1 don't it Luis? Austin tries to run the rail across the top middle during his first run attempt of the new game..and you know what they say. The first time is always the shortest if ya get what I'm saying. Finishing the table, and the game, Chris has to bank the 8 off the right, into the bottom left, tough shot huh? Ha, gimme for Chris. MadSkillz up 3-1. Considerring Austin lost twice, and there's 0 excuse for an early 8 aside from a glitch, let's mark that "easily the best team" statement as false.
Game 5: MZ_badgurlneedstobespanked vs. PO_revolutionizingthegame - OK, he feels unbeatble in MLP. Playoff opponents beg to differ, can badgurl clinch the match against him? After some safeties, mixed in with badgurl cleaning out her solids from the table for the most part, Dan plays the safety mind games a little more and they pay off or so you'd think. Dan powers a shot trying...God knows what, maybe a glitch or something happened with english because that didn't look like the backspin he added. 8ball almost went early. Badgurl, misses the small cut, short-lived cue possession, Dan wouldn't screw up or get screwed up anymore, OK, it's true for week 1 he's unbeatable in MLP. So, 1 true 1 false he broke even, and it's 3-2 MadSkillz.
Game 6: MZ_apa_pool_pro4life vs. PO_rob-bie - That's like, the shortest name on th PO roster. Pool pro going for the run, looks to be in great shape, potting balls...Check. Setting up to finish...Negative. Robbie uses his next shot to safety, with apa only having 1 solid left. The, robbie, Jammy calls him roob we'll call him Roob van Nistelroy because...he doesn't mess up. Nice run, makes it look easier than playing Jeopardy all by yourself without any AI opponents. Outlaws come back, it's 3-3. Remember last season they won about a half dozen of these exact types of matches.
Game 7: MZ_ll_petey_ll vs. PO__BiG__OnE_ - NO king_hustler for this match? Oh well the MZ Chris and Petey combo sounds sufficient, right? Let's see. In the first 4 minutes, a grand total of 1 ball was potted. Big One just decided to go for the home run after he got a good look, makes the difficult combo under pressure, down to 1 ball to the 8 a little later, just backspin and get the 9 away...Ah PO Chris ya made it worse. Here's the situation, he starts from the right side, 8 ball is on the right, the only path he has to it is off the left rail and back. Difficult shot...you'd need to be Mike Massey to pull this bs off. It'll turn out to be 5-6 minutes for a foul. But there's still hope Outlaws fans...All ya gotta do is...wait...for pete...to miss....which uh...won't happen. Pete cuts off the Outlaw comeback, they beat them without king hustler. Final Score: 4-3 MadSkillz.
Well, MadSkillz have not lost it all, the Hot Shotz by the way knocked up Black Silver 5-2, wow? Yeah. But...Not a big surprise considerring it's normal for this stuff to happen in week 1. Let's look back at week 1 last season. EZ8 4, PF 3. Breakers Alley, BREAKERS ALLEY, I SAY AGAIN BREAKERS ALLEY 5, not 4, FIVE. LPL just a measly deuce. It's just upset central in night 1 every season. Finally, I'll give ya the Tuesday picks coming right up.
