Interview with Poolfiction Captain, Kerryanne
Well, first off, great win tonight against TPL in the NL Conference Finals. Personally, I thought the players you chose to play in the position they did was genius. Was there anything that surprised you about the match?
Yeah I must admit Day putting xlx_e_f_c_xlx up early threw me somewhat and I think had to work around the game plan we had in place a bit differently . But over all it worked out well. I have a great co capt in Jamie who as you know was a capt himself and we talk strategy the whole game and he's always been a great help.
You trust British peoples advice? Sketchy! lol Even without Luis, you managed to pull out this win. That says a lot about your team’s depth, doesn’t it?
Yes, I trust british lol :) Any team would be happy to put Luis up in a finals game but like they say one person dosnt make the team. I have a team of great players and having the depth we do it's good to know i can call someone and be confident they can get up there and do there best and bring home a win .
Well said Kerry. Alright, so obviously people believe you’re a great captain. What is it that you do that’s different from other captains? Any advice for them?
Its hard to say if i do anything different to other capts cause I dont really know what they do. But what I do is I keep in contact with whole team all the time. We talk bout the upcoming matches. Who we think could take on which opponent. I'm pretty much on their backs to be honest hounding making sure games are in early and making sure they will be here; probably very annoying but it works in the end lol. I have a great connection with the guys on the PFN team and it's a good thing when a capt can turn to anyone on the team and talk bout something relating to upcoming matches. Jamie, Sean, James etc we are always talking bout things and after all we are all after the same thing in the end - A WIN. If I was to give advice as a capt, Keep the connection with your team.
Can't argue with that. Looking ahead, you have to play Cuekeepers in the World Series. Any early thoughts?
Im really looking forward to playing CKP in the World Series. They're a team you DON'T understimate. You have Pommie. Cal. Matt. Don and thats just to start with . There's 4 guys right there that could take on anyone and that's a challenge. And that's what i think the World Series should be. A challenge between 2 great teams. I will definately be taking my time planning this game out.
You’re right, CKP has a very formidable line-up. What makes your PFN team special, and what do you think will set you apart from them when it comes to the World Series?
Thats a hard one to answer to be honest. Pretty much like I said before you have a strong connection with your team and it shows in your games. Pommie, I think, has that with his team. So there's really no difference between the 2 teams. As players, just to name a few, I have Jamie/ James/ Cubby/ Ogges/ Kev/ Andy / Derek etc. then you look at CKP and their team's just as good, I feel. This World Series could go either way but of course im hoping PFN's way :) When you ask what will set us apart from them in the World Series, I dont know to be honest. It's pretty even. I have maybe 1 season left in me now and I would like to go out winning another World Series.
Aww! Well if you do go, you'll be missed! Last question. Since the NL won the All-star match, you guys have home-table advantage in the World Series....Scenario: 3-3 in Match 3...They’ve called Pommy to play game 7 for the win. Who do you put against him for all the marbles, and why?
Id be crazy not to say Jamie or James. Those 2 could clinch a game and they have had the experience of doing it many times. I'd feel comfortable calling on either of them. Jamie's had a great season, I mean, he has gone 13-2 who wouldn't feel confident putting him up in a game 7 like that and James has gone 5-1. I'd be happy for either to play.

Ty Ryan. :) Just wanna say keep MLP going! We admins work very hard at making sure everyone has a great season. Some people cant see the work, especially the work Sophie puts into this and has for many seasons. We give up alot of our spare time to make sure people have a fun and challenging interleague to play in and it is the best on here and I think past seasons have proved that :)
That class act folks, and people who volunteer their time like her, is why MLP is as quality of an interleague as it is!
