Poolfiction advances

Tonight we saw a match that coulve been a real classic, spoiled by an utterly surprising lack of strategy on 8ball elite's part. It was almost as if they were a league like rolls joint or trupoolers, or even champion pool shooters, not a lot of safety play to say the very least. While the Poolfiction squad took advantage of their obsession with running the table. First game mad ed vs. british pool wizard. On the break the wizard knocks down a solid and a stripe, and has clean shots on 2 stripes, yet decides to choose solids and plays a safety. Ed's reply? A hideous looking bank attempt to "escape" when he could've just hit the 2 stripes above the cueball. 4 minutes into bthe game a big cluster in the top right, a minute later same cluster, minus 1 stripe, mad ed, mad bank, stripe on the right rail, down into the bottom center, my guess is a poorly aimed shot for the bottom left really, but what do I know? Ed unable to clear his final stripe so now jason vs. eddy, jason wins of course finishes out his solids without much trouble, 1-0 Fiction lead they've won 5 straight games in the post season now. Elites welcome to your first playoffs you are now officially 0-1 and shooting 0.000.

Game 2 jammy hure has a death wish going against...you guessed it, _Death_Wish_. Shortly after the break jammy has this setup that really looks runnable for solids, but he's unable to run it, or unwilling, your call. later in the game jammy again, 2 solids left, 8ball very playable if he can knock down this toughy and the next, insane cut shot for the hure and he actually makes it surprise surprise, tricky indeed. Why am I not saying "jammy finishes, 2-0 PFN"? Because now, big trouble. Left himself with a very difficult bank off the top into the bottom center. Jammy quickly starts to line up, then he adjusts his cuestick one click to the side, twilight zone music please... guess what, that adjustment cost him the shot, and what's worse, the cueball was in a great position for the 8. But he'll et another crack at that final red solid Death Wish with 2 to go also chokes and leaves a stripe hanging in the pocket. Good thing really because he had NO shot on his final stripe. So here's jammy, redball part 2. Just barely misses this one and no help the 8 it rolls past the shooting lane from the cue to that orange halfway in the pocket, Death Wish takes out his final 2 buuuuuut yikes he left himself with a bank, he opts for a short cuebank off the top, 8ball bottom left, easy money, hey we're knotted up at 2 congratulations 8be your first post-season individual win.

How many more? DP vs. A7X, yeah remember the shot I took at mark before? It's redemption time marky and already dp reveals *gasp* he's from ROLLS JOINT OH NO!!!!!!! Well, not really from RJ just cries about mark's safeties "wtf is this bs" blah blah blah, and so naturally, he bangs, makes nothing, strike 1. Next safety by Mark, bangs, makes a solid and a couple of his stripes, but he fouled, strike 2. Mark safety again, or...maybe not he just leaves it short ball in hand for DP. couple shots later, the object DP is to keep the cueball out of the pocket, someone forgot to pass on that little memo strike 3 you're eventually gonna be out bud. So now, mark positions for a safety but uh...what happened? Did he even tap it? Seems the balls glitched and now dp has a cheap ball in hand. Oh and naturally he'll take it. Sad sad little boy DP he eventually misses and mark just says screw this let's send him home packing, finishes the table, DP after the game calls mark a pussy yada yada yada that's what you get for playing stupid. PFN up 2-1.

Game 4 some brock lesnar fan against the Hillbilly. Already starting with the safeties after the break hill leaves the cueball right in the pocket on his after-break shot. A bang later here we go again, safety, again leaves nothing. But we have one of the few planned safeties by an 8BE player in this match...but hill just safeties right back. Brock tries...uh..something. Whatever it was it didn't work and uh, hill, this is runnable bro. Ok...Hill, it WAS runnable. Decides to safety we skip ahea da few minutes oh NOW you want to run it hill OK. I see how it is. It's 3-1 PFN not much exciting.

So now, it's time for some heroics baby, 1cloud vs. matty the pool legend. And uh..sit back and grab a snooze pack this one's gonna take awhile. Safety...safety....safety...occasional shot...safety...hey, least it's good smart pool right DP? Skip ahead to matty with an open table to run this one's in the bag just make this shot matty do it do it! ...OR you can miss this one to the left lip of the top middle if you want to I guess. Cloud now 2 balls left this is becoming a common choking point lately huh? Beautiful power control here with quite the easy shot to setup for the 8, unless...you draw the cueball back behind one of matty's solids. Well 8BE players are fairly good bankers let's see the infamous 2-rail cue bank you can do it! OK maybe not, matty gets his last shot at the table and that's all he needed, Poolfiction win in 5, again advancing to the American League Championships and guess who they could be facing again, yeah, Poolfighters. 52 minutes from the first break to the final 8 ball. And while my game count is off I am now 4 of 5, average of .800, with an asterisk because of Happypool's ignorance, costing me a potential sweep of the playoff predictions. Damn them.
