Monday Night
We'll start with PM-XP, Masters don't have their usual lineup it's more of a 2nd string deal. Flygirl making her MLP debut and wendigo as well in 7v7 for PM, Flygirl would win after a few excellent shots while wendigo..not so fortunate. Now through the entire match, a little kid named deadstroker seemed to be complaining about PM taking too long...Well, a few practically perfect shots from pool_perfection in game 6...it's 3-3, which means i_havethep0wer will play game 7 in jimvan's absence. Who else for XP? Deadstroker. Heh...This I hope was fast enough, p0wer runs him straight from the break, that's what happens when you don't shut up and let them play, they finally play your way, and smoke ya. Masters win 4-3 over XP, they're now 4-1.
Now...this match, was both sad, and long, and confusing, and really it had all the makings of a PLC match, and had Kenny's match that he nearly screwed PFN over in back in season 2 not been a playoff match, he'd be off the hook. It started OK, minus the players all showing up late apparently, and HP AGAIN not even close to prepared. Eventually we would reach a 3-1 Pimps lead, with lil_provie_killer the captain playing game 5, this after spark_o_matic was discovered to be BongSmoka (Caught with AA a few months ago), BilliardsMaster not even being in MLP by the time he played, and letting it happen quite a few times from the ump, provie_killer had to either leave or got disconnected. Moonshine was called to play and the game of course had already started, when we find out the guy's not in MLP yet. So finally killer times out game's canceled it's 3-2, game 6, runnage from tits_luvr. Tied 3-3, stands to be the top play of the night until...Game 7. Not a very difficult bank but hey, throw in it's not a very good player making it, and it's to win the match, not_your_kitten's bank on the 8 bottom rail to top middle gets play of the night honors :\ And by the way, HP wins 4-3.
Now, brown (the ump) later told me she was getting system errors for awhile and checked the players as they were called. Maybe that was true for the first couple games I don't know but during game 3 cases was well up, and she let moonshine begin the game before checking him. If you're too distracted to ump, that's what ump managers and replacements are for. I won't say she was totally pathetic, because that's really only called for in the Playoffs (PFN-SCPG Season 2) But, I will say it wasn't obviously the best-played match ever and it certainly doesn't rank anywhere near the best umped matches, but it was at least somewhat entertaining. And now we see exactly why MLP has admins on duty, they did practically all they could to keep this match from going totally down the train, Trace and Kayla get a few brownie points :))
