Wednesday Night's Results
We'll begin with that MadSkillz match...or lack thereof. Breakers Alley had players but thought they needed at least 4 to play, whoops. They ended up forfeiting and thus eliminating themselves completely from the playoffs. MadSkillz would move to a half-game behind the StraightShots now, pressure's on guys.
Game 1 in that match, apostle (nugget reborn) against NewCastle's bpbpurs. bp chokes on the 8ball shot giving the nugget a chance to lead-off with a W, you know in the Air Force "nugget" refers to a rookie pilot or in-training pilot. Kid passed his training, welcome to the SS team. You've given them a 1-0 lead.
Game 2 it's that rich guy again, Good Riddance against screwball. Screw messes up a chance to run it but does play a safety, effective enough as Rich couldn't pot his last ball or counter-safety. Screwball gets to the 8 but...can't hit the bank. Rich gonna win? Not a chance. He also chokes, put a 2 under the "C" column overall for this match. Screwball the game back and just knocks the 8 down. We're tied.
Game 3 poolfreak (ajay fresh out of the box, also from PH) against JOJO, who nearly hit a bank that would've changed the entire swing of the game. But, she didn't, and a few moments later after a botched bank attempt hit well short by jojo, ajayjay finishes her off. She would report and then leave after saying everyone at the table needed to shut up. Even though she never had a problem with it during the game. Nice excuse :Game 4 was between mspoolpro and the welsh guy from NewCastle. NC just wants to tie this match back up, and eventually win so they don't get eliminated from the playoffs altogether. Again fast forward to the end of the game, poolpro leaves her cueball in the top middle, has a solid halfway into the bottom middle, makes it but was way off on the shot, she also hit the 8ball first. That's a foul, that's a free 8ball shot for welsh, that's a 2-2 tie.
Game 5 Blake against LovelyLisaM...Still no romper yet, but we know who he's waiting for. Lisa almost had it run but needed to A: Make the 9 and B: Get a shot on the 8 - she did neither. And the american pool stud did not disappoint. He gave SS yet ANOTHER lead in this see-saw match.
Game 6 'Shots have 3 wins, and it's automatic, JJ will be against Romper. JJ, looking to clinch this match and keep their lead at 1 whole game in the Atlantic over MadSkillz, and possibly a whole game over EZ8 if they lose to the Pimps, if he can make this solid and the 8...he gets Yahooed. Had the right power, but the way it hit the ball I guess Yahoo's programmers don't like it that way. Romper steals one and hey, it's 3-3.
Game 7 But look at how it's been, NC has not led at all this match, would they lead when it counted the most? Build the drama, dj spir0 and EvilPapa. Looked like at a few times Papa could've easily won the game if he knew how to run it, and spir0 ALMOST dropped the 8. Then rather than try to rail-runner shot on the left side, spir0 tried a bank, and missed. papa didn't do much better, in fact he scratched trying to...uh...do something. Spir0 would escape with the win, and SS avoid an embarassing loss to NewCastle, 2 leagues knocked out of the playoffs in a span of about...20 minutes.
LPL and HappyPool, 2 leagues pool_warrior2002 has been a HUGE part of in MLP, and it seems everywhere he goes the league kicks ass, everywhere he leaves....they suck. Just look at LPL from season 2, 5-1 through 6 weeks, ended 6-6. They got a forfeit win against...guess who, TRP. But after HP "screwed" him in Season 3, picture of mephy please. Well since he's allowed 2 switches per season he's going over to LPL for 1 match to knock them further back in the Wildcard hunt, you screw me I screw you harder, and we'll see who hurts the most. I was watching the EP-PO match at the time so I don't have any of the juicy details except one...Guess who clinched the win for LPL over HappyPool...pool_warrior2002. Wouldn't ya know it? Apparently astro wasn't happy about his loss, like that's a first. But LPL comes away with a 5-2 win, and they know they're still likely not gonna make the playoffs, but they took a rival down with 'em.
Now about the Elites and Outlaws match. It's only around 7-8 megs...nice huh? I can email it through Yahoo, YES! Let's get right to it.
Game 1 it's jack against Kyle. Jack wants to run it, the pool Gods say no. Then with ball in hand later in the game, Kyle proceeds to what the Outlaws have done at least 4 times in their past 24 regular season matches - win.
Game 2 we've seen the EP captain, now we'll see the Outlaws captain. More about him too. Kevin against MisterLucky (eat_sleep_pool). they would safety quite a bit, and really through most of the game, until Rob drew a foul with 2 solids and stripes left, Rob makes a NICE shot to free up his other solid, then...proceeds to, choke on the 8, as we've seen in MLP all season long. Kevin can only safety though, and on his next shot couldn't find the top middle pocket. Rob ties the game up at 1.
Game 3 ReallyBigAssNegro against...miz. Who? Eh, whatever. Big cluster on the right side, we're gonna safety kids. Until...Ahem...I said UNTIL... Negro safeties once again, and a little Yahoo saves miz from an inevitable foul. But miz can't make anything of it and the Negro goes on to win and the Elites are up 2-1, through about 50 minutes of actual playing time.
Game 4 We're probably just gonna see the see-saw effect right? Like in SS-NC? Scotter and No1_Shooter. Oh Chris is bringing back the old name. But then scotter after a poor safety from Chris just wants to get this done with. Believe in the DONKEY, because he's ending this bad boy with a nice shot on his final solid, putting the 8 into the open table, yo EP up 3-1 AGAIN. Becoming a pattern.
Game 5 JJ couldn't do his job as closer for SS, could Brandon do it for ElitePool? Could he be the one who ends the 24-match regular season streak of the Outlaws? And make this a 4-way tie in the Pacific (Which EP would lead due to a 4-way tie coming down to games record, a win would require 43 total, which would lead the Hustlers)? Well, Stud_Paul had something to say about it. And throughout this game as well we'd have safeties start to finish. For anyone who watches the entire tape of this whole match, fast forward to 1:15:30 or so and you'll see one hell of a bank from Brandon, who slams down a cuebank in about 2 seconds like it was NOTHING. ....But he has no real shot at the 8 and he just safeties, that would continue until Paul just barely misses contact, and Brandon takes that ball in hand, knocks down the 8 on a rather tough shot still, the streak is over. 4-1 ElitePool but would it stand? Yes, and I'll explain the dispute later.
Game 6 Jamie (Poth) and droppin. See now we're just playing for...well...4-way tie games. Yep...Jamie's pissed. He's just gonna run droppin good morning good afternoon goodnight, 4-2. Need I really explain it all?
Game 7 flip against Austin. Flip gets ball in hand since Austin really had no chance getting out of that situation he was in, Austin, simon says...You lose. Flip makes a really great shot on his final stripe, perfect control, then knocks off the 8, not only does EP beat the Outlaws, they take the PO team to school. 5-2 the final here, wow.
Now as for that little dispute. Kevin wanted Brandon penalized for celebrating after he beat Paul to clinch it...this coming while Paul left without even saying gg. At all. Never. For the rest of the night. Just...never. So uh...you're stupid? How else can I say it? I can't really be nice about it because, it really was stupid. Brandon did not get boxed, but come on, how can you say he should've been? Kevin it ain't the NFL. You guys lost and in fact you got smoked, get over it, it happens. PoolMasters survive in the NL Mountain just 2 games back, Outlaws still just a win (other than the TRP forfeit) or a Masters loss from clinching the Division, and the final tally on the win streak: 24. They're now -1. Long time coming? With the start they had? Yep. ElitePool now leads the NL Pacific technically, 4-way tie rules state it's always games record, EP still has a forfeit win against SC coming up...
