Tuesday's Results
We begin with PoolFighters @ MadSkillz... PF needs a win to stay alive in the conference/division race, or else PoolFiction takes the #1 seed, meanwhile MadSkillz need a win to stay a safe distance from SuperbPool.
Game 1: PF's Krunal vs. MZ's uk_chopz. Let the fun begin. Krunal trying to run the table, would get booted a few times during the game but in the end what matters: He completes a nice run to lead things off, 1 little 2 little 3 little indians, PF up 1-0.
Game 2: PF_The_Big_Loser vs. MZ_badgurlneedstobespanked. Needs to be spanked, or she can bank? Possibly MZ's best banker here trying to tie it up. She no doubt wanted to run the table but couldn't, so the loser gets a shot, and...does something. Next shot for badgurl, no banks yet, 3 balls in after that one. 4th shot...she has no straight-in shot..here's what the people came to see. 5-ball off the bottom, to the top middle, badgurlreallycanbank. tries a little break-up shot, unsuccessful. Around this time she said "ok now what?" And Sophie reminded everyone about the no coaching rule. All of a sudden Moe (xlx_respected_xlx, of all names) starts getting quite defensive, accusing Sophie of favoring PF, and just going off like crazy, gets booted, STILL goes off on Sophie apparently in IM, and she hadn't even DQ'ed him yet. Lucky kid. Next time hopefully he'll shut his mouth, if there is a next time. Gotta wonder why so defensive though :/ back to the action, CUEBANK off the right rail, nails the 3 (which was right above the cueball) in the top left pocket. Man oh man...She fouled next shot. Loser with ball in hand, 7 balls, no problem. PF leads 2-0.
Game 3: MZ_xlx_respected_xlx vs. PF_t_h_e_drunk. Hey, Jeff is 2-0 on the season...lol...Offered a beer and a half if he runs the table...there goes that half-beer. Moe trying to finish the game quickly, few shots in...scratch. We fast forward a bit to the end, with a rather nice safety contest. Drunky wins that, tries to finish out, needs a lot of power behind his shot on the final solid...nowhere close. Trying to bank top-bottom middle...Missed. Moe, lucky to even be playing, cleans up, and PF's lead is now 2-1.
Game 4: MZ_walt_bran_2003 vs. PF_corey_man_. Corey booted early in the game, few shots in, about a 12-minute game here. Yay. Walt tries to run the table, happened just about every match here it seems, can't do so. Corey wants to do the same, and he goes through 1....2....3....4....5 stripes, had 2 down already, but the 8 is blocked from any straight shots. So here we go with the bank, something corey has had no trouble with lately. Left rail-Bottom right, takes a while, doesn't wanna screw up.......Brick. Walt runs his final 2 solids, drops the 8, and another "bran" wins (brans are 2-0 so far this week) and makes it a 2-2 tie.
Game 5: MZ_Blood_Poets vs. PF_Lord_Simpson. Can gary actually win a game? Doesn't look like it at first, the Poets gets a chance to run, and does so up until..2 stripes left, makes one, but has a pretty much impossible cut shot to try and position for the 8. Object ball barely moves, Gary's turn. Gary tried snookering a few times on the way to his finish, but Poets was able to escape just about every time, until Gaz tries one more time, and the Poet just barely misses contact, on what was pretty much his easiest shot of the entire game on that last stripe. Gary puts down his final 2, and the 8, PF lead 3-2.
Game 6: MZ_Xx_ANTI_apocalypse_HERO_xX vs. PF_Trouble4Some. PF a win away from staying alive in the American League, Tyler up to try and make it happen, Pete trying to save it for MadSkillz and prevent a tie for the #6 seed. Tyler's gonna run, trying to do what Krunal did game 1, except he even throws in a little bank from the bottom to top middle. About the same angle badgurl made her first bank. See? PF can bank too. 1 shot later, 2 stripes left, Trouble is...in trouble. Misses a usually routine shot, and Pete's turn. He'll be running the pool table when he comes, gets to 1 solid, and instead of go for the easy bottom middle shot, he plays a very ballsy shot, but the risk pays off, much easier to position for the 8 and hey...Pete has some Mad Skillz it's tied at 3-3.
Game 7: MZ_king_hustler2004 vs. PF_Crash_ZeroCool. Yes, both key matchups this match, gotta love it. It all comes down to this, PFN wins the conference if MadSkillz pull out this win. Hustler goes to reboot his computer, MZ lucky Luis didn't ask a few minutes earlier than he did for a timer, because it took Hustler about 7-8 minutes of that 10 minute timer to get back, phew! So here we go. Luis...trying to do the Lulu thing, running....running...but unfortunately gets left with no shot. He tries a bank from the bottom of the table, hitting the 3 at the top, off the top rail, into the bottom middle...just clips one of his other solids and misses wide left. King_hustler trying to do the same, the running part that is...and hail to the king baby! He runs all 7 stripes and the 8 in fine fashion, FINAL RESULT: MADSKILLZ 4 - 3 POOLFIGHTERS. Which means...PoolFiction are the American League conference winners for the regular season, they will have the #1 seed in the Playoffs, taking the winner of whoever wins between the 3rd and 6th seeds.
PoolHustlers @ Pool Outlaws I didn't get to see hardly any of it because I was subbing in to ref the regs-bbm match, and hey, they all behaved it's a miracle. I do know Full blast went against Jamie, and no it wasn't game 7. Blast won that game, Don did, in fact, play, and he beat BadAssOutlaw to make it 3-2, but PO's miz beat brandon.du to tie it at 3 and all I'll say for game 7 is Theike played against Paul. That's enough to know. FINAL RESULT: POOL OUTLAWS 4-3 POOL HUSTLERS. Theike made a comment in a previous post saying he was giving other plays a chance to play but the only remotely-unfamiliar face was aka_sonik (lvlasse_q.) Outlaws have a game and a half lead, but they meet BeerBallers week 14...will that be the match for the conference?
Let's find out, Regul8ors at Beer Ball Masters. Yahoo decided to be an asshole and go down, forcing both PH-PO and BBM-REG to be moved to the other league's room, with the same away-home designations. Regs were allowed (by admin decision) to sub a player who had been called before the server went down in Beer Lovers, so instead of Garett14 against Kenny it would be...
Game 1: BBM_xxx_americanpoolking_xxx vs. REG_ANACONDA_PYTHON. Pick up the action late in the game, I'm just gonna try to do highlights because I'm getting typer's cramp -_-. Andy Anaconda gonna try to make his final ball, and get in position for the 8...Cuts the shot in, and ends up going 4 rails around the table, PERFECT position on the 8 and...Kenny gets snakebitten. Regs up 1-0
Game 2: BBM_C0rRuPteR vs. REG_l3ams_a_legend. Fun fun, a safety battle. Scott late in the game gets a funky reaction from the bottom rail, trying to pull a railrunner. The legend trying to take advantage of it but can't pull it off. Scott next shot, brilliance. Again perfect positioning, sinks his final ball after that, drops the 8. We're tied 1-1.
Game 3: BBM_KillerSix vs. REG_aka_chris_soccer. Not as much safetying early on here, until the end after Pascal can't finish out a run. Chris puts together some very effective safeties, and the Regs lead again 2-1.
Game 4: BBM_coria_snake_eyes vs. REG_revolutionizingthegame. Daniel's coming out early, and the safeties would go back and forth, with a shot here and there. Dan eventually feels he has a chance to make a good shot, trusts his follow-through enough not to scratch, and barely doesn't. A few shots later Dan (rev, ev, call him whatever) jams the 8 in, when he's on he can be quite fun to watch. Regs up 3-1.
Game 5: BBM_SpiffyRaver vs. REG_lll_painkillerz_lll. BBM needs a comeback, one half of the 2v2 Tour finalists from last Friday did their job (Python) so now it's Pita's turn. Daru though, wants to start a comeback. Well...Pita loses on an early 8, while I was looking down at my book -_- so i didn't see what happened. But, it must've been pretty careless because it was taken, and so the score is 3-2 Regs lead.
Game 6: BBM_x_clogz_x vs. REG_rob-bie. Now while Dan can be a lot of fun to watch, guess who has been really scary lately...Clogz. Late in the game, robbie starts a final run attempt, making a couple nice shots....unfortunately he also leaves himself with hardly anything. He does however make a nice double-cue bank safety attempt...sorta. Problem is....clogz can barely make the cut shot. He does just that, and finishes out, almost becoming the victim of a Yahoo rail, but he keeps it together and hey...I told ya he's scary, that clutch performance makes it a 3-3 tie.
Game 7: BBM_Viper_GT_98 vs. REG_Trac_eY. Why not MJ? Well after a long delay, MJ was boxed, along with SP captain, Liz, more on that below. 37 minute-long game I kid you not. Would be a lot of quite effective safeties in this game, so I just gotta take the time to say nice job to both players. Unrotunately late in the game she thinks she can finish her final few stripes...But tracey snookers herself. She fouled, and God forbid we should have a match go past midnight, Viper quickly runs his last 5 balls easily, plus the 8...FINAL RESULT: BEER BALL MASTERS 4 - 3 REGUL8ORS. This means, in all likelihood, BBM vs. PO is a must-win for the BeerBallers. If the Regs beat PH next week, and they likely will, and win week 14 against LuckyPool, they'll be 10-3. If EP beats Xpool, they'll finish 10-3, if BBM beats LuckyPool but loses to the Outlaws, they're also 10-3, and due to the 3-way tiebreaker for this scenario...ElitePool (wth 8 wins between the matches between the 3) would win the division, Regs would take 2nd (7 wins) and BBM would take 3rd (with 6 wins.)
Now...about MJ. He and Liz are both in the box, pending an admin meeting, because MJ played some of TRU_55's games, after MJ's cousin got nervous about becoming SuperbPool's closer. Liz knew about the whole thing, and on top of that had been asking Silent_Fox to play as outrageous_pool_player, giving James the player's password, though he allegedly never did actually play. That was why MJ could not play game 7, and the subject of the long delay at the match. MJ didn't deny that he did play for TRU, and also adds that his cousin was right there by him each game. As for Liz I don't know if she's been spoken to yet, and if so if she was as honest about it or not, however one might expect if anything happens, Liz may get the worst of it. Who knows? TRU did in fact play on his own for All-Star week, according to MJ. As for SuperbPool's status this season...they may just be dead in the water now. By the way outrageous_pool_player is 1-2 in MLP, with his last match being a loss to EZ8's xlx_mvp_xlx.
