Wednesday and Thursday
Let's begin with AbsoluteFinest and Breakers Alley. Why? Well it's the only 7PM match. All I'll say about this match is it was just full of poor shot selection and execution. AF did smarten up at the end with RVDBlade and derek, but the other 10 players before those games, it was just...ugly. Breakers Alley, the way AF was shooting, could've won 5-2, and the same can be said vice versa. In the end it was AbsoluteFinest barely escaping with a 4-3 win, primarily because the Alley player refused to safety. Again it goes back to all that poor shot selection, making mistakes, and AF jumping on them for it. But I'll say this now, if either team doesn't smarten up skill-wise, they're gonna have a heavy uphill battle to make he playoffs. Now, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, it's week 1, but they'll need their game back to play TourneyPool next week.
A match I didn't get to watch, ElitePool and LPL, LPL started up deuce to zilch, and ElitePool never gave in, they rallied to win the match 4-3. So that's another 4-3 result in the Atlantic division, more on that later.
LuckyPool and Pool Hustlers, when I got there it was Jenn vs. ph-alex, and there's a rule now in MLP that only the winner of a game can offer a rerack. That rule added so that people wouldn't feel on the spot anymore, and wouldn't worry about looking like jerks if they take an early 8 or a glitch, etc. The umps will be instructed to tell the loser if they ask to just go report, and keep the match moving. Well, Alex gets careless. After a little safety feud, he nails the 8 down, on a shot which he should never have taken. It would get some criticism in the comments to a previous post, and also an answer. They also talked about krunal missing an easy 8, that's PH's problem not LuckyPool's. He did miss that 8, tried to give an excuse such as he didn't want it to hang, but he was off the mark either way. Eventually LuckyPool would win it 5-2, they beat the Hustlers for the 2nd time in as many seasons. Maybe they just have PH's number.
Now the 9:00 match, Cubby's big upset pick...Not looking good. Straightshots began with a 2-0 lead, but then, that didn't stop ElitePool, it wouldn't stop UnitedPool either. They tied the match up at deuces, but then late in game 5 after tall_ndn from UnitedPool tried what little he could for a safety, the southside pool genius of SS knocked down his 2nd to last stripe, and spun back to break up that blocker, and the genius gave SS a 3-2 lead. Then GodsAccess, for all intents and purposes, had a great finish-out oppurtunity, should've been able to run but...the game isn't played on should have beens. After a brilliant safety a few shots later from SS's Generaly_Cool, he was able to bring it home, 'Shots would win the match 4-3, ketan for UP was the winner of game 7, against Stick_777.
Thursday's action, which I didn't see any of except Regul8ors-TourneyPool and I was barely paying attention, so I'll give you what I can. Regs go up by a trifecta, but then TourneyPool rallies all the way back, they make it 3-3, pool warrior for the regs against Missy_888 for TP, but the comeback would end like the NHL season, abruptly. Pool Warrior and the regs able to escape with a 4-3 win. Around MLP on Thursday other matches included DreamPool winning 5-2 over the CueKeepers, EZ8 doing the same to ChampionsPool, but the first el sweepo of the season. PoolFighters large and in charge, housing the PoolPals 7-zip, PoolFighters were the away team by the way in that match.
Now, I touched on that rule I was talking about earlier, only the winner of a game can offer a rerack, the umpires have been notified, and expected to enforce that rule. Again it's so that nobody should feel guilty or have any added pressure to give a rerack when the 8 falls early or a player gets glitched. It's only fair, and Red Sox caps off to the admin team for coming up with that rule.
Now, for a little week 1 Did You Know? Did you know that this week marks the first time ever in a week that all the teams in a single division were part of 4-3 results? Of course, that could be because...I believe it's the first time all the teams in a division have played each other in week 1. Either way, the Atlantic Division certainly put on a show.
That's all for this week, week 2 shaping up so far to be quite an eventful week, so as soon as I feel up to it, hopefully sometime this weekend, along with my Tour post I'll give a little preview of the week to come, until then, wow look at all the commas I've used, english etachers yelling "END IT ALREADY", cya!
