Therzday. =\

After a night where the win margins stretched the length of the Grand Canyon and then some, a night full of straight 4-3 matches. Regs beat PF, but did it actually take all 7? And Quez won...then won again.

PoolFighters @ Regul8ors - Match resulted in a little boxing, but first, I was STILL watching college hoops, and I went without hitting record on camtasia pretty much the whole match. Brilliant me. Regs started off with a win when Crazy_Cheese, that's aka_pomking, beat PF's eskim0s. Next game, jerfighter against ReallyBigAssNegro, midway through the game...Stop the match, Big only has a 2-2 tourney record, and either Corey or Danny made the call, if it was Danny I'd say they're both at fault either way, gotta check the kids. He finally canceled after saying "nigger. bullshit." And you probably guessed, he's boxed for 7 days for not keeping the language down at PG-13 level. You can sponsor him at www.savethechildish.org but in the meantime, Pita goes against Scotter, and uh...3-0 Regs so basically this is looking like one of those ugly nights for the losers. Game 4, PF's Danny, Regul8or pool_warrior2002...Andy as a captain, well he has kinda had trouble with beating PF. Tonight no different at least as a player, because its one of those bang bang you're dead games. 8ball goes early...could the regs blow another lead? Well if you read the above paragraph, no need for extra drama. JJ against Brandon, JJ so relieved he didn't have to play Lulu, and the battle of the big boys goes JJ's way. Corey would beat Trace, captain against captain manager that had to be a sweet feeling. Lulu also a weiner, he beat flipmode_m. Final score 4-3 Regs still win it, Negro's DQ kinda looks a lot bigger now. So, PF getting a first class ticket to the woodshed being washed out in 5. They go to 3-1 on the season, leaving still 3 unbeatens, let's not forget Bearskins are technically 1-0. So technically, winning percentage-wise, Bearskin Eightballers are the best team in the NL Pacific. Savor the moment. Regs? They tie with PF now but of course, they'll have the head to head advantage, and head to head advantage within a division? Oh it's very important this season when week 15 comes around and it's judgment day for those teams sitting on the bubble, to steal an appropriate term for this month.

XPool @ SuperbPool - Again I was there but only in name, I had few other things to pay more attention to. XPool started off on a 3-0 glide in this match as well, making it the 7th consecutive match to start off 3-0. Yeah, that basically means 7 teams are gonna be practicing this weekend. But, remember that SuperbPool team that choked on 3-0 leads last season? They came rallying for a change. Sh4dow_fl4mez and Tha_Expert picks up all-important W's for SuperbPool, but shootalready69 killed the fire, knocking down MarkoTheGreat. T_Rocket would play and win game 7, against XP's kev8ball2000. How about this guy though? T_Rocket, ain't lost yet. However, his wins obviously haven't meant a whole lot to the 1-3 SuperbPool team. He reminds me a lot of Romper, winning most every week for NewCastle, but the team just slacked off and his wins had the value of a bread crumb when they'd lose like this year's Atlanta Hawks. But SPool here did have home advantage. I would've liked to see T_Rocket go in game 6, when they called shootalready, then take their chances with an XPooler in game 7. In order to win a 3-3 decider, you first have to get there. It wasn't a bonehead call to throw in Marko, he's not a bad player, but SuperbPool has only 1 multi-game winner, and that's T_Rocket. Of course, it also goes on the players shoulders because you can't go down 0-3 and expect an easy comeback. Next week SuperbPool has MadSkillz, and if you think SP's confidence is rattled now, when it rains it pours. Right now? It's starting to turn into a torrential downpour. Now can a team like XPool keep level with CueKeepers for the #4 spot? Or even Quez? Well they'll need to win about 9 games overall I think to make it. They haven't had any matches with the big kahunas of the AL, MadSkillz, Quez, Outlaws, PoolFiction, DreamPool, and with their regular 7 you could argue LPL's in there, but I'll leave them borderline. They're 2-2 now, I'd estimate they end with around a 6-9 or 7-8 record, which would more than likely leave them out of the hunt. XPool has a match with the stumbling StraightShots next Saturday, and SS is gonna be really rattled I think if they lose to MadSkillz. Both teams had better feel a sense of urgency in that match, because they will both desperately need it. That could be a loser's dead match, so again, panic time for the loser next week. Only reason I picked on XPool there is because I think SuperbPool is already out. They need someone other than Rocket to start getting wins for them on a consistent basis, and until that happens they will be lucky to get more than 1 win in a row. You hate to see a team suffer this badly in the early goings, but then, it's survival of the fittest.

TourneyPool @ PoolPals - Speaking of being desperate, well I think PoolPals fall in that catgory. Zero wins, 3 losses, incuding the week 1 slapping-around they got from PoolFighters. God I'm cruel... Well, game 1 it all seemed to be much of the same. Netty500 beat PP's dmbant, and texas_outlaw beat bowzer69pp. *Yawn* Tp guys thinking "yep, PP only good for losing, sweep time!" PoolPals thinking "SHOWTIME BABY". Game 3 DALLAS_PLAYA, playing peachie, and ain't it just that, peachy. Playa grabs a dubbaya, and all of a sudden we might have a match kids. Then, joe39male, ida_ho_hunter, PP and TP respectively, joe makes the damned-near impossible shot on the 4, top right, yeah I was filling in on duty I had a notepad. Have some, TourneyPool. 2-2, I told you it was a match. But, next game, bribohebon for TourneyPool takes advantage of the poor safety attempt by DIRTYSOUTH...God it must suck to have an all-caps name when you lose, 3-2 TeePee on the hill. Next, Missy's got a wide open table for TourneyPool, against porksword, gets stuck with your basic top rail, bottom middle bank, got a piece of the near-side lip. But fear not, porky choked. Missy another chance, easy cake run, but a long-bomb 8, and it missed high. Draw your porkswords because we're going back to battle. After 1 final very mean safety, the porky one comes up with a good 4-ball + 8 run, and this ain't Kansas anymore. All comes to this, Pals got their ace l3ams_a_legend, against the_panther for TourneyPool. Panther breaks, and a wide open simple stroll in the park for Bam. Except...he goes cross-table on the 7, and *cough gag weez* yeah, choke. So panther goes to work, but he left himself with Boardwalk and a hotel...the paying end of it. Shoots the hopeless prayer, and barely leaves Bam a shot. Put the stick away there bug guy. The midas touch on the final ball before the 8 for Bams, PoolPals finally got a win! I ain't gonna fill you up with all this "it's still hopeless" stuff, let the boys and girls celebrate they fought for this one. TourneyPool though? There were about 3 times they could've closed it out, and failed to do it. But at 1-3, in the Pacific, it may take a little more than what they're doing now, to get that 4th spot. However, this is week 4. Don't count them out, because it's not impossible for them to heat up and rip that #4 spot from someone like Break and Run, or hey maybe even Bearskins depending on how good they really are. It's still early to classify them as contender or pretender, but its MLP, noone knows what could happen.

Quez @ Wild Angels - We're gonna fast forward to game 6 because...I'm the editor I have that power. That's also about the time I got to the match. Paul actually wants to play this week, wow. He's playing game 6, up 3-2, against dis_dain. Paul wins with some good overall shooting, and we're all happy on the Quez side of things because, it's 4-2 QZ. game 7, kyle69_ against lettmelickit...interesting name. Except midway through this, we find out Paul's got the wrong name in MLP. OK, he gets 3 minutes per MLP rules, since it's an MLP name error. Well, further investigation shows he's got the wrong name everywhere, and Kevin for outstanding captain, get your ballot sheets now. He's P_a_u_1 at the match, XANONYMOUSX everywhere else, and the actual admins get together, discuss, deep thought, everybody with a stitch of rule knowledge knew this one's 3-3 before they officially announced it, after making sure they got the whole story right. So all of a sudden this game 7 goes from worthless to match-deciding. I think kyle felt the pressure. Scratches after spinning the cueball from the top-left area to the bottom right pocket. Ball in hand, single ball, 8ball, easy position, checklist time. 14ball pocketed: Check. Position on 8: Check. "Celebrate" song from the 80s ready to play in the mp3 player: Check. 8ball drained: Ch...No. So kyle goes from about to quit pool to about to win. Yeah, we don't take this game seriously enough sometimes. Kyle eventually would finish, no choke, Quez steal back the 4-3 dub'ya. They get back to .500, which may be all they need to keep doing to make the playoffs. But, you'd think season 2 Outlaw/Oultaw would be a wake-up call. Quez will not be able to afford giving away the freebies. Also, as a captain, Kevin has to be a lot smarter and I don't mean just as far as being prepared, I mean as far as showing a little respect for the other leagues and assuming every league that beats him brought a team of 7 aimers. This QZ team I'm taking an educated guess will probably have about 5 losses by the time this season's over. I highly doubt 35 aimers all reside in the American League. In fact, I highly doubt there are even 35 in MLP period. But, I'll ramble on about all that soon enough.
