Interview with Pool Hustlers Captain Theike
A: Just stay focused never underestimate and fight for each single win , if we do that I have every faith in my team's chances to win the division.
Q: What opponent do you really want to see in the Playoffs?
A: Well more like in world series which would be PO because last 2 seasons we have played them 3 times and lost all 3 some very close games were there , but in our conference my ideal "road to victory" would go over PF PM and LKP , simply because those 3 teams beat us and Id like to see us playing then now we are in this shape and spirit
Q: Well good look with LKP they're out :P how close do you think a match with PM or PF would be?
A: those matches totally depend on the form of the day , if 1 team gets some early lucky breaks u could look at 5 or even 4 matches either way but most likely since the teams are so very evenly matches those will go down to at least 6 or 7 matches as I dont think they will be surprised by a big guns early out tactic so how ill have us play then , you will see then , I always adapt my picks and tactics to the scores as they develop , I dont see the use in saving the best for last when ur already 3 down in playoffs to be honest , because 1 more loss and ud be out without ever having ur best played lol
Q: What impressed you this season with PH?
A: Well the major turn around but damn +11 thats amazing. I did expect us to make the playoffs because the teams we lost to arent easy teams. But to have the division title fate in your own hands last match after being 1-3 , thats an amazing feat. Also the teams spirit not being selfish but each player putting the team 1st before them thats great.
Q: A question I've always wondered since you guys heated up, and finally get to ask: It's 3-3, final game of the World Series, who gets the game?
A: Well i know you asked that question different with others but i adjust my plan as we go along so it would depend. Usually game 7 is cory's so if I had em all it would be cory he just hardly lets ya down game 7 and should he mess up he always seems to have that lil bit of game 7 luck , but regardless of that last 2 weeks i believe he had what ? 2 shots needed for 2 games lol. But right behind him woudl be pommy with his 3 cam victories. and brandon with his 11-1 record this season. We have some players I have faith in for this match. However in an ideal world last match game 7 should be captain vs captain because they should be the ones carrying the blame should it go wrong no1 else. But ill most likely play in another slot tho ;)
Q: If you could've done something different this season, what would it be?
A: the start obviously lol accepting whichever big name wanting to be on the mlp team. I didnt change it after 4 seasons for no reason lol
Q: Finally, so you can go back to having no life, any closing comments?
A: Having a life ? me ? right now ? lol no. But yea, this is 99% sure my least season as captain so I hope to go out with a bang doesnt matter how far we get as long as I can go out in style
So Theike and the Hustlers will go into this week looking for the #1 or 2 seed in the NL half of the Playoffs, best of luck to them of course, and a lot of respect needs to be given to this guy I think. It takes a lot to tell top-level players who could easily heat up and give you wins to, in different words, get the hell out. But with some convincing from other people he changed the way he captains the matches, and in the process has also made himself a bit more productive when/if he plays, and of course he's about to get a very good seed in the Playoffs. But Pool Hustlers compared to when i was there have become much more an interLEAGUE team. I remember having like 30 games and being 20 or so days idle and I'd get to play. You can't do that anymore with Theike and his strategy has been rewarded with this amazing recovery streak. Their matches remind me of the Outlaws back in season 3 to be honest. 3 6-1s, 5 5-2s, they have just dominated the NL during this streak. Not a big collection of big-name players, nobody is ridiculously idle or has exactly 20 games and 10 tourney games, and that is why you can make a case that Theike is one of the top 2-3 captains in MLP this season. You could also argue he's been THE best. I mean, Kevin turned it around with a team of big-name players, Austin has dominated with a team of big names all season, and they haven't all been active in the league let's face it. Mick had a stretch where he and pfn were as dominant as any team in MLP history, Pita took over about mid-season but has still been consistent after losing players, I mean the Captains in MLP have gotten so much better through each season, and the scenarios have been so vastly different for a lot of them you can't really say who's better.
So there's a rant, have fun :)
