Outlaws On Path To Another World Series

And they're just one match away as last night they took down a very talented LPL squad. The ugly win last week was practically erased, and PO relinquished all doubts of a post-season meltdown.

It started with an incredible safety performance from No1_Shooter, in what was expected to be his final match with the Outlaws. Amir did what he could to match him, shot for shot for the better part of 40 minutes but in the end Chris came up with the big shot to reach the 8, got the break to go his way but isn't that half of the game anyways?

2nd game, Austin added to PO's win count, beating long-time LPLer king_vaughan, to give the Outlaws a 2-0 lead, and a lead that would hold up for the night.

But LPL wasn't ready to go away this early, Rufferman took it upon himself to pick up LPL's first win, beating Full_Blast to prevent a 3-0 defecit.

An Outlaws 3rd win was inevitable though, and against LPL's Rizken, long-time PO ace Jamie delivered it in Game 4.

In game 5, Ogges called in Romper to save LPL's season, while Austin let MJ attept to send the Outlaws one step closer to another World Series. It happened. With a great shot to knock the 8ball off the bottom rail and set up a sure-fire shot, MJ brought home PO's 4th win, and eliminated LPL in just 5 games.

Now, while it's easy to second-guess a team after a loss. I didn't particularly like how this match was called by LPL. With this Outlaws team, they can put their worst player first and that person could still win a 3-3 Game 7. Putting Amir up was a good call, because while he's as overrated as Carlos Beltran, he's still a good player. But down 0-1, putting up king_vaughan, nothing against him, just seemed a little out of place. 0-1 game 2 is where I'd put ruffer, ogges, maybe rizken who had been on a tear coming into this, but I can certainly understand if the decision was made because of ogie putting the team first and winning second. But I know if I must win a game, and let's face down 2-0 to PO in the Playoffs you may as well say "gl next round guys", game 2 is must-win. So I certainly didn't agree with the call from a must-win standpoint because when you play PO you absolutely have to go right after them. You can't sit back on them because they've got so much talent it's ridiculous. But, it was practically played like a 7-game match from Ogges' eyes, and it only lasted 7. That's what PO does to you. If you lay back on them, you lose. If you attack them, you have a much better chance of beating them but you're still a big-time dog.

So, all that said, the Outlaws will be facing the winner of Quez and DreamPool on Wednesday night. What happened when they met this season? Well DP was pimp-slap prone, and they got shelled 6-1. However...PoolFiction demolished them by the same score, and DP was able to get out of there with a win. Granted an understaffed PFN team but the players Fiction had, were their loyal aces (aside from me :/) so DreamPool is certainly capable of beating Quez. Will they? I can't answer that until one of them gets 4 wins Wednesday.

A few extra notes, romper has announced this was his last MLP for some time, and remember what I said in a post way down there, can certain teams stick together? I don't see any remote way Amir and Moe stay on the same team, with Romper supposedly being done with MLP for a season or 2, or longer, the structure of LPL's team, if there is one, will be something that ogges (assuming he sticks around to run the team still) will need to figure out in the next month or so. Also, No1_Shooter (Chris) leaving apparently for 2 months, not the time to be doing that especially if QZ wins, and we get that rematch. You're looking at a match that could potentially go down as one of the best MLP has ever seen, right up with the many PFN-PF wars.

Sox won last night by the way, AND HOW 'BOUT DEM YANKS? :D have fun tonight knuckleheads :D *suffers from Wilbon Syndrome*
