Thursday Night

Dual sweeps on the night setting up a League Championship Series between the 2 most dominant teams in the Playoffs...Oh and don't forget to watch that other match next week between PO and QZ. yeah, neither of them made the top 2 most dominant in the Playoffs...scary huh?

Regul8ors advanced in 4 over AF, Sir_Tazz actually beat jerfighter in game 1, but there was no timestamp on his tape. That would not be confirmed by a 2nd admin until game 4 after Generaly Cool and Pita had won their games. The announcement actually comes to Pita over YM while Zero Burn is sizing up an 8ball bank, off the bottom to the top middle. So basically, to put out derekgnr and AF, and to get 1 step closer to the World Series..............Zero. Burns him! 4-0 Regs complete the sweep, better to have the cam problem in a blowout than a 3-3 game 7.

Even bigger cam problems in the other playoff match, PoolMasters and Pool Legends. Match starts at 9:00, no full decision until about 1:30 AM holy crap. Legends simply outplayed the Masters, making the 6-1 pimp-slapping the Legends took from PM in Week 14 disappear completely. For every opening a PoolMaster left, the Legends were right there ready to say "ha, you lose." It started with Ice1001 picking up a win over maxpowers007. The downpour didn't stop. Robocam picked up a 2nd PL win over MRSR pool perfection. So basically, we need a win Masters! Ehkohz would not be able to provide that as a 38-minute game produces a 3rd Pool Legends win, thanks to crazystriker2oo5. But he has to take a long, long time to send the tape and meanwhile I confused one of Missy's attempts to send a tape as his, so about 45 minutes of sending a tape, gone as he restarted. Game 4 going on however, Fink against Crazy_Que, the big clutch player for PM...Not so much. Fink wins it on a nice bank off the bottom to top right to reach the 8, and that was no problem. So we've got 4-0 but we still need 2 tapes. Because of my goof-up and because fink's game ended at about 11:15, the midnight deadline not so fair they get extra time, and at 12:35 or so I've got crazystriker's tape finally. Fink's tape was 30 megs, 41 mins. of full-screen fun. Able to walk me through a remote access program or something like that. Allowed me in his comp. to watch his tape, I found and copied his aimer to my hard drive, and cleared him. So it's officially 3-0, finally watching crazystriker...Uh oh...Is that an extra line? ...Haha I bet you thought I was serious. His tape cleared, and well after 1 AM we have a decision, PL wins it 4-0. Try and read this I'm too lazy and tired to Bold it.

Now, why do I call Regs and PL the 2 most dominant over PO and QZ? Outlaws nearly fell to BritPool, then smoked LPL. Quez got a win over DP who had 3 players after taking out MZ in 6. Regs? They're 8-0 in the Playoffs. Granted HS wasn't the best prepared either but they had a little talent available, and Regs took it down. And here, they sweep AF, yes there was a DQ, but as well as the Regul8ors played? Do-mi-nance. Pool Legends, down the red-hot Pool Hustlers in 5 and make them look like mince meat. Now, they sweep an equally as good if not better team in Pool Masters, big kudos by the way to i_havethep0wer for understanding the situation, and not being a prick or anything close to it. More than I can say for a few others at the HQ when Matt wasn't there, raggin on him behind his back about not playing games that would likely be useless (if the 2 tapes were cleared.) But it's blue83, some know why he left PM, I'm not sure he was missed very much to say the least.

As for who I have between the 2? Wow. Neither team has proven they can win a match this post-season. They've dominated their opponents. That's not a match, that's just dominance. So it'll be interesting to see how they play this out. In a match like this, I would expect both Captains to play this to 6 or 7 games. If the situation presents itself where they can end it in 4 they should go for it, but if I'm either captain here, I play to win in 6 or 7. Ideally I get a win in 4, but I'll play 6 or 7. That's actually how PL has captained their matches. They haven't come out gunning at the opponents, but I think the Regs have. PL managed to get the breaks, and their early players capitalized on opponent mistakes, and they got wins. Regs? They've gone to win ASAP. Played for 4-game wins, haven't held much of anything back. So, should PL change their strategy to accomodate for this? No. The early players are smart enough, and being the Away team you have to look at who they play, and who they have left. If you go down 2-0, LuckyDog or Fink have to play. No question there. If PL wins this, it has to be in 6/7 games, but the Regs can win it in 5-7, that being said you'd think the Regs are my pick, no. I like PL to become the first ever bottom seed to reach the World Series, and they will give PO or QZ a decent run, but Outlaws OR Quez got anything the NL can throw at them.
