New Format - Something to Pass Time
Ok, just sittin here and was thinkin' about how MLP should be more alike the MLB seeing as how thats our model. I thought up a few changes and I Think it'd be cool to hear your opinions.
-30 Teams total
- 2 Conferences (stays same), 3 Divisions per Conference w/ 5 teams per division.
- 17 Week Regular Season. All Star Week (1 week), Same Conference Play (14 Weeks), and NEW 2 Weeks of Inter-Conference matches put one after another in mid-season. Now, teams may bitch and complain that they're playin the tougher teams in the other Conference. But do NL teams bitch when they play the NY Yankees and their division rivals play the Tampa Bay D-Rays during interleague season...dont think so. They live w/ it and try their best to keep pace. (2 weeks)
- Playoff Teams NEW Top 2 teams in each division make playoffs + 1 Wildcard Team (Top league out of the remaining 9 leagues also wins a spot). #1 Seed in Conference gets bye rd 1. Remaining teams seeded by their respective records.
-Main Page - Have a standings page NOT ONLY for Conference/Division; but for the Wildcard also so teams dont have to do all that crummy math in their head.
These are just a few ideas of what i think may make MLP a bit better then it already it. Now many may say why fix what aint broke, but these are just minor changes, nothin' w/ matches or anything.
Feel free to comment, thats what the posts here for. I know this may seem like alot more work for main page, but i'd be happy to do standings if you need help. Ok, well thats it :)
