A thought

406th post on this blog lmao... Wow.

Anyways, over the weekend I had tha chance to think a lot more without this online crap getting to me, and I thought briefly about what games are intended for. Videogames, board games, any games, the idea is to have fun, right? Then I thought about people who cheat in games with the Codebreaker, Gameshark, Action Replay, etc. and many times on GameFAQs' forums I've defended those people but then asked them how fun is it to know you can't lose? To know that there is 0 challenge to playing? That's when the thought hit me. It's fun.

It's fun to blast zombies with a gattling gun non-stop for a few moments. It's fun to take all the great legends/heroes in MVP 2005, put them on the same team and decimate the Yankees. It's fun to shoot up the guards in Perfect Dark with a magnum while they have no weapons (Marquis of Queensbury Rules cheat), and of course, it's fun to see how many points you can score in Madden 2005 with all those cheat cards working in your favor.

Of course, it's never fun when you're cheating in a head to head game with someone, but that's not my point. My point is, this game we play is just that - a game. The funniest thing, to me, is seeing someone throw up a status message calling someone an aimer after they lost an interleague tourney, as if getting to that point took a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifices. In baseball you never see someone currently playing, accuse another player of taking steroids and let's be smart here folks, which is more serious? Baseball or some online pool game?

People will cheat. It's a fact. I'd be willing to bet there will be an aimer used in Season 6. I'll also bet there will be at least 10 other people who get accused of using one, whether they do or not. Here's a fun fact for ya, this year alone and I was net-less until February, I've seen more aimer accusations than I have months gone by so far this year, and interleagues I know of. In my few years playing this I've seen more accusations, from myself included way back, than I've seen Red Sox games on NESN, and that is a LOT. I don't have exact numbers, just mental estimates, but i think it's pretty sad.

This is a game, the object is to have fun. Yet it's people like those I talked about in the above paragraph, who think that this is such an important part of their life. If they lose, they find excuses. It happens in WPC, it happens in NPA, PLC, MLP, PIT, ILT, IPC, WIP, it happens in most every league and interleague and bad non-humorous joke (WPC) out there. I dunno, maybe they think it's fun to accuse without any proof aside from the fact that they suck. But it's supposed to be fun for everyone... Yes, SmokeKenny whatever your name is, Joe, Coma, Jenn if you're still around because I haven't cared frankly, Me, Jive, Gaz, Pudsybear, hell... Every single person who has EVER accused in their lifetime, it's supposed to be fun for everyone. Getting accused isn't fun. Getting aimiered isn't either but how do you know without getting that person caught? You don't. But hey, just a thought.

Now read Ryan's post down there *points* I feel kinda sorry that I bumped his post down with this but it was buggin me the past couple days -_- And of course, I await your flaming and "F U Cubby" and "Wow what a hypocrite!" stuff, but... I already called myself out, so I didn't throw everyone in the pit and seal it from above.
