Tuesday...
DIVISION II
#2 Hot Shotz @ #1 United Pool
Game 1 - 8 ended up almost in the top right pocket early and sat there much of the game. Until test_fate dropped it in only a few more shots. President Sting wins, UP up 1-0.
Game 2 - Pretty quick game, tx lady lost her cue but ketan gave it back, ketan later got stuck in the middle pocket with no line and that should've been all the lady needed. ...Except she nearly botched a 4-solid run until she nailed the 2ball off the top rail into the bottom right, then easily downed the 8, and HS ties it at 1.
Game 3 - Last 4 balls potted were stripes and an easy finish at that for scotty_who, as he leaves 2 solids of jeramie's on the table. HS lead 2-1.
Game 4 - You_can_call_me_GOD... well mister_ed460 just might. A little 6-balling for the 2-2 tie, as only 1 solid was potted all game. y_c_c_m_G was obviously stripes. Easy run, easy win, 2-2 tie.
Game 5 - Aaron from hell, pinkdew, someone has to break this little tie. aaron of course played for HS at one point I believe. Aaron put on quite a little show and took advantage of some relatively easy misses on his way to the win, which put UnitedPool back on top 3-2.
Game 6 - so junglejim for HS has to come in and save it, while King2068 tries to clinch it. No -15 for King to get off his back this time... Very quick start, as could have been expected. King decided to just go for it, but it wasn't easy with the 8, 3 solids, and the 14 all grouped on the left side near the rail. He decided to safety and got bih. His attempt at a breakout shot failed, and he had to safety again. This time however, he scratched off the 2ball into the top middle. Chance for jim to tie it back up, but the 15 is level with the 14, except on the right side of the table. The breakout attempt failed for jim as well, back to safeties. King got bih again, made a shot, and then a pathetic tap attempt. Left a wide-open shot for jim and he won it easily. 3-3 we be tied.
Game 7 - tannersmydog for HotShotz, and astro.wins for UnitedPool. Tanner solids, Scott stripes. First 5 balls potted were solids. Tanner almost got perfect position for his 6th, but instead had to try a low-chance cuebank and it missed of course, ball in hand. From that, scott went for the match. 14 in the top left, 15 bottom right, 10 in the bottom right and the 12 banking into the top middle on the same shot. 9 in the top left, 11 bottom left, 13 bottom left, easy shot on the 8 bottom middle, you'd spend a while finding a better Game 7 run. UnitedPool wins a tight one 4-3 in 7, match lasted about 55 minutes.
I'm a little mythed by UP. They're barely winning. They only led 3-2 when SS ran out of players Week 1, and narrowly beats a Hot Shotz team that wasn't full of Hot Shots to say the least. They can thank you_can_call_me_god and scott the most for this one, as they had easily the best performances. Do have to wonder though when UP won't have enough to get 4 wins... As for HS, they deserve to stay #2 I think as of right now but things can change. I'm unsure whether an XPool win over bottom-ranked BP will be enough to put XP up a rank. It might not be... I think HS IS the 2nd best team in D-II.

Game 1 - ridgway1000 gets a DQ win over lx_kinger_xl, 1-0 NR.
Game 2 - b0rn.kinky DQd against lvl_sweet_heart_lvl. 2-0 NR. b0rn would get boxed for comments after. I like that Paul did it but it kills the consistency of the admins.
Game 3 - So finally we have 2 eligible players. Kotor gets the first 6 balls in (stripes), and has a very tough bank on the 10, on the bottom rail banking up to top middle. It taps the 2ball near the pocket which put it on the right path, but the 10 fell just short. Cheri goes for the run, gets it, PMR on the board it's 2-1 NR still.
Game 4 - Havok, late, fluked in the 7ball, eventually took a bank on the 5ball off the bottom rail aiming for top middle, BINGO. Easy 8, Havox beats crashumup it's 3-1.
Game 5 - nanobibu DQ'd against Pita, no clincher no blown save, it's a DQ. 4-1 NR. Nano was DQd for false reports. They were reported to annemay62 who played the next game.
Game 6 - annemay62 beats kingmatt_87, 4-2 NR lead.
Game 7 - Sir_Shroom beats mayhems_mayhem, FINAL 5-2 NR wins.
For b0rn getting boxed, we've already seen far worse slide this season (match report comments, primarily) so it will be interesting to see what happens with this decision. Personally I like it but then again, I also dislike a lot of "mulligans" people have been getting. lace n leather gets boxed for an accusation, but PO's Scott(22883) and Paris don't for the cam comments. b0rn gets boxed here, Gaz doesn't for even worse. b0rn was even in the PMR lobby, Gaz was cerainly not in his home lobby. So like I said, weird but... OK. PMR DOES have to show some brains though. They false-reported, bitched about DQs which were their own captain's faults, but in all honesty didn't play the games that actually were played like shit. If they get a clue they could actually do something. For NR, we don't know how good they are. The match was riddled with PMR DQ's. Maybe next week when they play... Meh it's only Straight Shots. Sometime we will!

#5 Lucky Shots @ #4 Blazing Cues
Game 1 - Quick game, pretty much. Marlborodude gets to the 8, easy shot, bodly whining about getting slopped, and then marlboro forgets to call the pocket! So LS starts up 1-0...
Game 2 - Tonzmaniac tried a force cuebank, banking off the left rail with the cue, trying to snowplow the 7ball through into the bottom right. No luck and that leaves a wide open table for jodi_girl. She took what tonz left her. Tie match 1-1.
Game 3 - 4 solids went in 1st for Tony, then johnkrische rattled the 15-ball on the edge of the bottom right. Tony went back to safetying. Eventually after a Tony miss, John got a very good chance to run out 7 stripes. 4 balls lying aroungd the bottom rail, 3 near the top towards the right. Only problem was getting the 14 away from the 5. But then after a really dumb combo attempt along the bottom, he tried to run one up the right rail and he scratched. Tony shot the 3 in with the bih, and then HE scratched. John doesnt even take the ball un hand and pathetically misses a bank attempt. Tony goes on to miss a bank attempt on the 5, going right rail to bottom left. John wins, although he almost scratched bottom middle. Summary: This game sucked. 2-1 BC leads though.
Game 4 - tkf quickly went for a run but undershot a combo. Then did again on a cuebank combo attempt, with the 3ball already half in the pocket. Bankzmeister went for the run, but totally choked the gimme run by scratching! tkf goes on to... Screw up a gimme along the right rail by undershooting it with backspin. Bankz misses anyways, another shitty game, but tkf and LS tie it back up at 2.
Game 5 - gambler262003 DQd for being ineligible against so_you_think_your_good_huh, and LS is up 3-2.
Game 6 - poolmaster276 has to keep BC alive, and the LS Captain, Daisy_7778 has other plans. Well... gambler DQ'd. No save or clincher as it's a DQ. 4-2 BC. I actually don't think Kenny or Sophie had a clue that I mentioned there should've been a DQ... But regardless of what they end up saying there should've been one and it'll show that on my version of the stats.
Game 7 - BadGirlNJ wins game 7 over sweetbrowneyes048, FINAL: 5-2 Lucky Shots win.
So, more DQ's here, Captains simply need to be a better job of being prepared. The rules are posted for all to see, there is no excuse. There's no sense complaining about being ineligible. You either are or aren't, and you should know. If you aren't, either get eligible or don't show. LS didn't particularly impress me with this win but there's a whole season where we can watch them grow and perhaps move up into the top 2 spots. We'll see...

So overall just a decent night of MLP. Pretty good opener, rest was just... Meh. Tomorrow, spotlight on PFN and 8BR as they kick off Wednesday Division I style, get to see if 8BR can continue to crawl up the D-I ranks, or if PFN can hold them off at least for now. I'll have picks and stuff tomorrow afternoon, and of course, the game-by-game summary that night. I'm of course looking ahead to Thursday. Mmm Outlaws and Legends! That's an all-nighter for sure.
