Cuekeepers vs. Pool Masters
GAME 1: godly_runner really messed up with spin late in the game and after his failed prayer shot, kingj would try to run out. But the king misses a near-gimme, giving godly_runner back the game. He would force himself into ether banking the 12 off the top to the bottom middle or tapping, chose the latter. Eventually godly would try to 12 off top, bottom right, but the cue kicked off and drained the 8 in the bottom left and PM takes the 1-0 lead. The win? Just king's first this season.
GAME 2: Spanky and Pommy start off slow, but the first 5 potted were spank's stripes leaving her at a severe disadvantage with the balls all gathered on the right half of the table in a cluster. Pommy would, after a few safeties, go for the run and succeed in tying the match at 1, and setting Spanky back to 2-2 after a 2-0 start. The pomster improves to 3-1 on the season as he beats his former team.
GAME 3: learning_d_game the 2nd CKP player getting their first match in, the 14th different player for CKP... Against dawndyyyy. Dawndy had an easy run but blew an easy shot going for the top left, but learning didn't capitalize and safetied. Dawn would not run it though, as she got down to 1 solid the 4. Learning would get down to his last stripe before having to safety, and it would last a while. He oversafetied even with his second safety, and it cost him. Dawndy would get the edge even despite a glitch and make it 2-1 PM.
GAME 4: I'm not sure why, but Pom and Mick are now unavailable after this as Mick gets the call against zackman here in game 4. I realize you don't wanna go down 2, but CKP has a lot of players with matches played this season but still weak depth. First 4 in were zack's stripes, but late in the game after Mick had a chance to run and couldn't zack pulled off a couple nice shots to put his PM team up 3-1, with his first win in 3 tries.
GAME 5: isuxat8b2 would clinch against Rob in an average-length game, giving him his first clinch and Rob's first blown save. CKP falls to 1-3 at the expense of the now 2-2 Pool Masters.
Other games: brandi over star_trek (4-2), CKP forfeits Game 7. FINAL: PM wins 5-2
CKP needs to get players eligible and show up with an A-team. At full strength they actually look like competent players, but when you're forced to use Pommy and Mick against so-so opponents early on, you're either A: Mismanaging the team completely, or B: Really low on players. It's sorta both, but more of B.
BritPool - LuckyShots
GAME 1: Very quick game 1 between paris_in_flamez and moonlite.kisses, and Paris comes out with the win and puts BP up 1-0. Not even Newcastle had 20 losses despite the forfeits, Lucky Shots may becomes the first to 20 this season after tonight, 5/17 after this game.
GAME 2: angel makes a nice easy bank, 6 off the bottom to top middle, but she would later scratch and allow badalnighter, aka Vince, to cruise to the win and there's #18.
GAME 3: Tap break from romper, TOOLdt would try to run it after a break of his own but left 3 solids. Romps would eventually run off 8 in a row after, LuckyShots 1 loss away from being the first to 20 this season and it's 3-0 BP.
GAME 4: tonzmaniac may be the lucky one, playing his first MLP match this season for Lucky Shots... 1 loss from 20, will he prolong the inevitable or succumb to futility? Only Judge666 knows... Roy would get hung up on the 8 as he couldn't leave himself with a clear shot. Tonz would go on to clear his few solids, ALL ABOARD THE COMEBACK TRAIN CHOOO CHOOO!!!! ...Nah, actually he blew a gimme on the 7 and Roy downed the 8 to clinch and make it 4-0 BP.
Other games: heavymetalisbest over thundrplaya (5-0), mr_l3ig_t over xlx_bp_xlx (5-1), ministocko over unforgiving (5-2)
FINAL: BP WINS 5-2
Well, LS continues to fall in the standings, and it seems they'll be the first active league out of the Playoff race in either Conference. They had many chances actually to take a couple games, but could not put shots in late. BritPool, they have a toughie coming up with Pool Masters next week. PM and BP both coming off blowout wins, one of them will come back down to earth. While I had BritPool losing quite a few in a row after this (and their schedule is far from easy) I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat or at least go 3-3 with PM.
