Anuddah Weekly Post

No Awards this week because... No MLP!

DreamPool are apparently out of MLP. That basically means they'll lose the final 3 weeks 7-0 instead of 5-2 or 6-1. Officially that makes DP 1-13 this season. ...Yep. As for what that means for teams that have DP these final 3 weeks... They get an automatic 7-0 win. That means the following: Pool Legends have now clinched the American League's #1 seed, Pool Masters are now 7-5 and a half-game out of 2nd place in the AL, and Cue Keepers improve to 6-6 and are a half-game out of 5th place behind UNY. So who's gonna make the Playoffs? Let's look at the remaining schedules of all the contenders:

AMERICAN LEAGUE

BRITPOOL (7-4, 44/33) - They sit at #2 in the AL via tiebreaker over EZ8. This week BP has the up-and-down Pool Masters who would love to take over that #2 spot, should BP and EZ8 both lose. It's a very winnable match for either league, but I would give Pool Masters the edge here. Pool Masters have more threats than BritPool has. Dawndy, Spanky, and Drew against heavymetal, paris (maybe), and who? I rest my case. From there it's a CRITICAL matchup against EZ8. Any time EZ8 plays you really can't pick the match because their attitude is the wildcard. They'll need the win though so their emotions will of course be high, so of course you can expect a typical EZ8 match. A lot of trashtalk, a lot of stupidity, etc. I think BritPool loses this one too however. Last time they met, it took 3 DQs to down EZ8. They aren't THAT bad anymore, so EZ8 should win this. Week 14, the final week. ANOTHER critical matchup against Cue Keepers. Guess what happened the last time these two leagues met? CKP absolutely romped them. 6-1, only BP win was, surprise! Heavymetalisbest. BritPool could EASILY lose all 3 matches at the end of the season, and potentially miss out on the Playoffs. Any win these final 3 weeks, and Pool Masters are their best chance, should secure them a spot. Final 3 Weeks Record: 1-2.

EZ8POOL (7-4, 49/28) - EZ8 plays UNY this week. That's kind of a trap match. EZ8 SHOULD beat them 5-2. I'm not really sold on UNY at all, because they have... 1 or 2 good players and that's it. wlfcherokee and Eage, and with that I stretch the term "good" a bit much. EZ8 should romp these guys and help out Cue Keepers greatly. A win would basically secure EZ8 a spot in the Playoffs, barring some hugely unfortunate turn of events. After that, the aforementioned BP matchup that they should win and finally... Lucky Shots. Book it, EZ8 will finish 10-4.

POOL MASTERS (7-5, 50/34) - Tough match with BP which they SHOULD win, but somehow I don't think they will. I think BP will catch a few breaks and come out with that one. I'd take PM as a favorite like I said above, but favorites obviously don't always win. They have the forfeit vs. DP (which I've already counted, but may not be on the Standings Page.) Finally, they close against United Nations of Yahoo. Here's the thing. This is a battle between two mediocre teams. But here's the difference: PM only beat UNY because of DQs. For a bonus: PM have caught a bit of fire as of late. I'd expect that to carry through to this match, even if they lose to BP. I think with seeding on the line, and maybe even a Playoff spot, PM will beat UNY 5-2. Final 3 Weeks Record: 2-1.

UNITED NATIONS OF YAHOO (6-5, 37/40) - They are absolutely clinging to what World Poolers left them (3-1, win over CKP.) I don't think they're that good. I don't think they'll like the result of the EZ8 match like I said. They'll absolutely massacre Lucky Shots barring some team breakdown, but get beat by Pool Masters like I said. The Lucky Shots match is CRUCIAL for them. We all know that LS are at least capable of putting a few wins up. A few breaks and we have an upset. They can't fall asleep and let the Cue Keepers steal that #5 spot from them. A win against EZ8 could very well secure them a spot, but Week 13 is a VERY tricky week for all of the AL. Final 3 Weeks Record: 1-2.

CUE KEEPERS (6-6, 48/36) - OK. My pick to win it all! -_- They're a half-game behind UNY. They get a forfeit this week. Next week is the tricky week and here's why. Pool Legends have already clinched the #1 seed. They now only have 2 things to play for: Cal's MVP chances, and getting players eligible. They don't have many players that they CAN get eligible in 3 weeks that aren't already. There are 6 listed in the Official Stats. That means basically PL could throw the final 2 actual matches they have, and still have more players ready. They won't make any history by winning out, but it could help Cal's MVP chances if he clinches or saves that week. I think the Cue Keepers are gonna win out. I know I've said that they're some great team etc. in the past and been let down, but they've been showing with players lately. CKP could reasonably end up a #3. I think they'll handle BP pretty easily, and PL barely. Final 3 Weeks Record: 3-0.

PROJECTED PLAYOFFS PART II:

1: Pool Legends (12-2, 61/37)

2: EZ8Pool (10-4, 65/33)

3: Pool Masters (8-6, 57/41)

4: Cue Keepers (8-6, 56/42)

5: BritPool (8-6, 53/45)

WILDCARD: #4 Cue Keepers over #5 BritPool in 5

SEMI 1: #2 EZ8Pool over #3 Pool Masters in 6

SEMI 2: #4 Cue Keepers over #1 Pool Legends in 7

AL FINAL: #4 Cue Keepers over #2 EZ8Pool in 6.

See? I stick to my guns like an honorable person. I kinda would LOL if I perfectly nailed the final top 5 standings game for game... :s

National League stuff tomorrow. Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving!
