Yeah I just didn't wanna give Declan TOO much attention. Jesus he said he wanted to slit my throat during 8BR's match in the lobby. Imagine if I gave him AOTW again. He'd threaten to drop a nuke on Capitol Hill or something. Tyler... Well he just lost and as usual, made some kind of dumbass comment about "oh i cant wait til playoffs" because the guy smoked him with a bank.
...So anyways, Boozilla is still my NL MVP choice. He gets POTW as well as he improved to 7-0, and got his 4th clinch against 8Ball Runners. Yes Jamie also won a clinching game this week, and Miz clinched against goodwooter of Pool Loverz.
Now for the top 2 MVPs of every league, in alphabetical order.
8BALLRUNNERS - #1 is fuzion_hero. Why? 5-0, literally the only reason. 8BR is full of good but not great records. Even fewer still have records over .500. But, 5-0? Know what? That actually stands out in this all-star lineup. As for the #2 man, it's between Coma and Andy. 4-2 [1 Clinch] against 6-3 [1 Blown Save, 1 Clinch, 1 Lost Decider] I take Andy here. You could look at tourney success but there's really no relevance in the BLT other than shits and giggles when it comes to a league's record. You could really flip a coin here, but I would take Andy showing up to almost every match and being somewhat consistent as the deciding factor. Yes he's the 6-3 one.
BLAZING CUES - Well the first one's easy. Veteric2003 had a really fast start this season. He won his first 3 or 4 matches, kinda remembered that he played for BC afterwards, but he was the diamond in the rough in there. He's also saved both times he had the chance to. For a 2nd MVP, I don't wanna pick someone with a sucky 3-7 record. But, 2 of those 3 wins were a clinch and a decider win, AND c'mon it's Blazing Cues. You think I'm gonna find 2 good records? Jodi_Girl1212 is the 2nd MVP on this team.
BREAK AND RUN - Jerm is the top dog on the team. 4-2 with 2 out of 3 saves. Someone else with 4 wins takes #2. Capwhanda. She's also 4-2, and 1 for 1 in Saves. Not really much to say here other than BNR would desperately need something big from both of these guys, if they were to steal 5th place from the grasp of Hot Shotz.
BRITPOOL - Well #1 here is easy. Heavymetalisbest and he's also an AL MVP candidate. 8-1, 1 for 2 in saves, clinched both times he has needed to. He is far and away the biggest reason that BritPool is going for #2 in the AL. Roy and Jan have moved him down in the lineup to play those mid/late games now, and some of his wins haven't been pretty since then but they're still wins. The 2nd guy is paris_in_flamez. I actually didn't know he was still around and bang, he pops up in BP and is 4-1. Nobody else is really consistent.
CHEAP SHOTZ - The NL MVP right now is Boozilla. 7-0, 4 clinches, 1 save. No discussion needed. DQed is "the other guy" in CZ. Yes I'm still calling him DQed. He's 4-1, TWO Deciders won, and a Save. Cheap Shotz are also #1 in the NL, and going through their gauntlet stretch. They play all 3 of their pursuers in this final stretch. They knocked off 8BR, can they get by the rest of the way unscathed?
CUE KEEPERS - Well Pommy's easily the MVP here. 7-3 with a Decider while in CKP. The next guy is Blackproton. I know he's only 3-1 but christ it's Cue Keepers. Nobody else is good in that league, among active players. Hell Anil was 4-1 but apparently all those games were played by Rizzo. Rizzo and Neo were on the same team. That's pretty funny actually.
DREAMPOOL - Well kayli is the MVP at 3-1. But she's also a little baby. 2nd MVP? mrr.bear. He's 2-4 with a save. Sadly that'd make him a top-3 DP player this season. Any wonder why they're 1-10 with 32 forfeit losses? They only inherited 14 off NewCastle.
EZ8POOL - Tom is their MVP and here's why. He's the only competent, level-headed guy who's passable as a player in that league. Which of course means I pissed off 3 other guys but if they looked in the mirror (with their egos they should anyways) they'd find out exactly why. The next guy is Garrett though. 5-1, the loss came in 8BR before they got sick of him. He'll end up boxed by or at the end of the season anyways for doing something stupid so what does it matter?
HOT SHOTZ - Aaron.from_hell and he didn't even start out in HS. Since he showed up though? All he's done is win 4 of 4, save twice and clinch one. He has taken this HS team from where they'd be right now, 6th place, and kept their heads above water with his playing. He is carrying HS almost by himself. lady2di414 is sorta helping. She's 5-3 with a clinch. She's ready to play just about every week, and while she's good but not great, she has been pretty consistent overall.
LUCKY SHOTS - craig_mitchell2006 is 4-2. That puts him as the top dog, because those 4 wis come in the first few games and you can count on him to put the other guys down 1, or tie the match up at 1. The other one is swansparadise. 2-4, lost the only save chance but also has a clinch. If l3ig_t's record wasn't a dismal 3-7, he'd probably be the #2 guy. But as of right now, it's swans.
MALDITOS - This is tricky. Miz has 7 wins. Chex has 7 wins. Miz has 3 losses. Chex has 0 losses. But, Miz also has 4 clinches and a save. CHex has basically all early games. If Miz had worse than a 4-2 record in clinches, it may well go to Chex. But right now Miz is #1, Chex is #2, at least in MLD.
NEWCASTLE - devilish.charms. Hey he was 1-0 with a clinch *shrug*
POOLFICTION - Jamie. Next question. 2nd is derekgnr at 4-3 with a Clinch. Why him over Tyler (5-3 with a clinch)? Because derek's less likely to make a tool of himself, and always has been less likely to get himself or his team in trouble. He has been more valuable, and down the stretch will be if Kerry keeps her word about Tyler not playing.
POOL LEGENDS - Well Cal's real close on losing AL MVP and maybe he already has. He lost this past week, even though it was a garbage game, it's still a loss. He's 8-3, heavymetal is 8-1. Who would I take now? You can skip all this and scroll down if you don't wanna keep guessing. Cal does have 2 decider wins and 2 saves (in 4 chances.) CRAZY_QUE is 2nd fiddle in PL. 6-2 with a save and most recently a hilarious clinch against EZ8's Siccness. 2 big reasons here why PL is #1 and likely will be going into January.
POOL LOVERZ - Right now it's Lenny. She had a hot start (3-0?) and then fell off like veteric did. But, she's still 4-3 and it's Pool Loverz. Another one is unbullevable. 3-1 but the loss was a save chance. Loverz are right on the heels of Hot Shotz and they play one more time very soon. If Pool Loverz are to win enough times to take 5th place, it'll take someone to be consistently good, instead of consistently bad.
POOL MASTERS - So Dawndyyyy is 8-2, 2 saves and 2 clinches. That is very quiet production. It helps too because people overlook her. Who's #2? Spanky has a decider win, but it was also a DQ Decider win. I would go with Drew. He's 4-4, 2 saves in as many chances, and a clinch. Those 2 lost Game 7s though really make it tough to pick him. But really PM is Dawndy and 6 other sorta good players on a given night.
UNITED NATIONS OF YAHOO - wlfcherokee is 3-1 with a Clinch. Yeah that's enough seeing as UNY have forfeited 8 games and been DQed in about 4-5 others. The 2nd best player this season has been EageM. He's been valuable both as a player and an admin. Otherwise nobody else really stands out.
WORLD POOLERS - Well Trio was sadly their MVP lol.
Top 3 MVP Candidates
AMERICAN LEAGUE (basically the one everyone is gonna debate)
Stock for heavymetalisbest: Up. Clincher win over Lucky Shots to put BP in 2nd, 8-1 record, now 2 clinches. He is, as of right now, the MVP in the American League. Without him, BP is nowhere even close to #2. In fact they're looking at something like 3-4 wins right now.
Cal is #2. What hurts him is the 2 clinching losses, and the fact that without him PL is still a mid-seed playoffs team (3 or 4-ish.) Those 2 deciders and 2 normal clinches are what really save him from falling down to #3. Nevertheless, PL is the first to 10 wins and barring some catastrophic meltdown, WILL be the #1 seed playing the winner between maybe PM and CKP or UNY.
Dawndyyyy is right behind him. 2 saves, 2 clinches, 8 wins as well. Fewer losses too. She would be #2 if Cal didn't have those deciders because like I said earlier. BP is heavymetal and some other players. PM is Dawndy and 6 others. PL is Cal, CRAZY, Matt, and it was Jada too. If PM holds on and perhaps passes EZ8, Dawndy could get up there at #2 in AL MVP.
But as of right now, in order: Heavymetalisbest (BP), Cal (PL), Dawndy (PM).
NATIONAL LEAGUE
No surprises here. Boozilla with a clincher over 8BR. Can't punish someone for winning can you? Still perfect, 4 clinches. Nuff said.
BPK remains #2. It's those Blown Saves. If PFN can overtake CZ, if Jamie plays Boo and wins, or Jamie clinches some other way against CZ after the Turkeyday Break, Jamie is #1. As of right now, it's Boo.
And of course, Miz. 7-3, a save and 4 clinches. But there are also those 2 clinching losses and the 2 fewer wins. They all have similar stats, but the losses progressively hurt more going down the list. They all had clinching wins this week though. The MVP Race is almost more interesting than the Divisional Race.
Have a happy Thanksgiving guys. Remember - No Yahoo Pool. It's a day for family. Unless you're not American, and then you guys don't have to celebrate it. But you also suck, so it doesn't matter =)
