Monday Night Raw..Er.. Recaps

How did Pool Legends fare against Cue Keepers? Would Malditos drop another after losing to those same Legends last week? Maybe... Maybe not... Only... The Shadow Knoooooows.... Well, and a few other people. First, PL hosting the Cue Keepers. Who says I can't get these things right?

Cal played GAME ONE! He went up against Big Ben, motown.champion. Game was your typical game 7 tap-fest, with an occasional shot here and there. Cal did a good job of controlling the table, though. Never really let Ben play any great safeties. Cal tried to break it up after a foul/scratch by Ben, couldn't and had to go back to the drawing board. Ben then looked to take the game over by forcing the cue between his 12 and the lower-right rail to knock in the 14. Couldn't get the cue back out of there though. Cal made all but his last solid. When trying to position for the 1-ball on the bottom rail, just an inch from the right pocket, he put the cue halfway in said pocket. He's have to bank-tap off the top rail. Ben took a brilliant shot. Off the top rail, bottom rail, left rail, top again, just behind the 12 way up by the top-left corner, and his 15 back on the opposite corner was blocking the 1. That one shot changed this ENTIRE game around at the time, and it started with Cal's mistake setting up for the 1. Cal was able to get out it though, barely. They'd go back and forth a bit, before Ben went for a cuebank off the top rail, to tap in the 9 to the bottom middle. Didn't work, the 9 hit the lip. Cal made another nice play, as he had all game, afterwards. Cal took the game over from there, go some help from a glitch. 1-0 PL.

Game 2: Jeremy for CKP, Jeremy for PL. This game... A lot faster than the 40-minute duel between Cal and Ben. CKP's Jeremy missed a straight-in shot from the far right, aiming for the top middle. He missed to the right of the pocket. Jerfighter had a pretty clear run at that point. He'll run 6 in a row, make it look easy, Legends up by a deuce.

Game 3: Jesse for PL, georgiapoolking making his CKP debut. Saaaaaaaaafetiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeessss... Again. Looked quite a bit like Game 1, with Jesse taking control of the table, only a few balls potted, GPK scratches, and Jesse goes for the run. His clear-out attempt didn't open everything up but it did pot a pair of his stripes. He left himself pretty much no makable shots, though. Jesse went for a combo with 2 of his last 3 stripes, ended up fluking a near-safety just off the bottom middle pocket. Drew tried to cut the 3ball in from the right of the top-middle pocket but no success... Munoz had an easy run but slipped on the mouse. Drew went ahead and got CKP on the board. 2-1.

Game 4: Sova, Newf. PL, CKP respectively. Slow game, nothing new... At one point ALL 13 remaining balls (14 including the cue) were in the top-right corner of the table. Stayed that way for quite a while, but progress WAS made slowly but surely. Sova seemed to be in slightly better shape overall. Sova tried making one of Joey's solids to force a backwards assault-type series. But even though he didn't get that, he got a pretty decisive advantage in the late stages... One problem: He got booted. Lucky break for CKP, seems all these games have revolved around that... It's 2-2.

Game 5: CRAZY_QUE trying to stop the bleeding, Ownage looking to keep it rolling. QUE did win, I was busy walking to and from Subway, missed most of game 6, too. 3-2 PL

Game 6: Grinch would beat dippin in CKP to down CKP... 4-2 the score at this point. Legends win, grinch clinch. dippy would leave in a rush, no gg or anything... Gotta love interleagues :s Pita would go on to beat Pommy in Game 7. Legends win a pair in a row - They are now 2-0. Cue keepers... 1-1. They take on Malditos next week, while the Pool Legends face the Pool Dreamers in Week 3.

So how did those 2 leagues do? Malditos caught a little break in that liverpudlian couldn't play for Pool Dreamers. Remember he's gone for a couple weeks due to an aimer accusation... Welcome to MLP. Enjoy your stay. With or without him, PLD didn't stand much of a chance anyways...

Game 1: Blonde baby for Dreamers, Juan for Malditos. Not a lot of early safeties, but some missed shots/failed clear-outs. Not necessarily bangs, just a misjudgment here and there. Blondie hit a pretty good shot dropping her 12 and Juan's 1, but all game there was one problem. Juan's 4 was frozen to the 8ball on the top rail, just in front of the right pocket. Jane tried a few times to fix the problem, but couldn't. Took an awful shot on 15 trying to bank it off the top instead of going cross-table. Juan DID make the right shot, came off his 6, hit the 8-4 combo, finish, 1-0 MLD.

Game 2: Lee for PLD, Pro Ball for MLD. Lee had the game won, but blew an easy shot on the 3, looking for the bottom left. He Sova'D it! :O Pro_Ball made the run a little harder on himself than he had to, and paid the price. Lee took the game over, a little redemption, and tied it at uno apiece.

Game 3: Natertot and Paziii doing battle here. No safeties in this one. Just shot after shot, paziii got an opening, took it, 2-1 El Mexicanos!

Game 4: dirt_tracker trying to tie it back up for Pool Dreamers, Nenito The Dominican Agent looking for win #3. Dirt tracker went for the 12 in the top middle, missed, but it bounced all the way down to the bottom left pocket... Sometimes you just get breaks huh? :p Wouldn't finish the run, so Nenito would try to safety him. Tracker had a look at the 9, same pocket, same angle, but no luck this time. Nenito safeties again. Tracker, bank off the top wall, cue knocks down the 14 in the bottom middle, guy's a shotmaker! ...Except when he made his 13, he also made the cueball disappear into the top middle pocket. Nintendo... Er... Nenito finished the job. Malditos up 3-1 thanks to the Dominican... Aaaaaagent man. Dominican... Aaaaaaaagent man... *stops singing*

Game 5: Miz going for the kill. Mister Grimmm has to stop him to prolong the match. Unenviable task there. Seemed to be the same style of play for both players. Safeties that still progress the game, and are more than just tiny taps. They like to move the object balls around a bit, and for the most part have the control to do it. Miz made a few nice shots, came up with great position on those shots... Except the last. Almost too low on the table to make the 3 in the bottom right, but he'd cut it home and then drop the 8 next shot. 4-1 Malditos, Miz with the clincher. Dreamers would have to forfeit the remaining games due to lack of eligible players available, Malditos win BIG. 6-1. both leagues now 1-1 on the season, aaaaand... We know who they play.
