Top 5 Leagues, Next Week's Match of The Week
4 leagues won 6-1 this week. Of course, none of them beat a good team, so that makes this hard to figure out. So, you basically have to take a ton of factors into it, and go by your gut when you make a list like this.
#1: 8Ball Runners - That big 25 in the Big League Tour didn't hurt. They look to dominate the Tour this season, and maybe... Just maybe... A repeat of last season's Season success. Off to a good start now, and it looks as if they've figured out that whole "playing up to potential" thing.
#2: PoolFiction - At the risk of sounding like a blatant homer... I take PFN at #2. A very strong start to their MLP season, though it is only BNR, again, nobody won 6-1 over good teams to take what you will out of it. Lost a few players but they still have a strong 7... Next week they play Pool Pimps. Ohhhh boy.
#3: Pool Pimps - Like them or not, they're in, and they look to be as dominant as anyone. Egos have to stay silent, though. If they do, PLP can probably win the NL, if not the whole season. Either way, these are the top 3 leagues in the NL standings-wise, and talent-wise, and it isn't even remotely close between #3 in the NL, and #4 in the NL. Or even #4 in MLP, perhaps. But that's at least somewhat close.
#4: Cue Keepers - The 4th of our 6-1 blowout winners. They made quick work of UNY, absolutely knocking them silly this past week. For a team that struggled to make the Playoffs last season, they certainly made the most of their chances, and this time around... Well, like I've said about the other guys - Great start, big match next week though...
#5: Pool Legends - Against CKP next week. HUGE matches all around next week, but this is pretty big. They beat a very tough Maldito team 4-3, they were able to secure it in 6 before MiZ could play "hero" in Game 7, we'll see if they can keep their noses clean this season, and what happens Monday against the Keepers.
MATCH OF THE WEEK
Well last week's was Pool Legends-Malditos, I just never got around to posting it. This week... Yeah. Pool Legends and Cue Keepers. I would expect this to go 4-3 either way, but like last week, PL will probably win in 6. I think overall, top-to-bottom, they're the better league. BUT... Don't forget Mick. He's not (and may never be) Mr. Automatic like he was in the past with PFN, but he's still good for those late games if and when he does play. Cal and Sova vs. Pommy and Mick... Sounds like a good matchup to me!
UPSET WATCH
There really isn't a league that strikes me as a "significant" upset candidate. Cheap Shotz won't lose 2 in a row, and especially not against LS. Pool Dreamers... Not really sold. Malditos should beat them. I think Pool Masters have the best chance to pull an upset over BritPool. Both of these leagues lost 1-6, but in my opinion, BP is the better of the two. Pool Masters, though, you can never really count out. I think they kind of personify "any given night", because they're good one night and awful the next. They'll be good next week against BP, and pull out a 4-3 upset.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Week 1: xlx_under_dog_xlx - Declan with the BLT victory, then he pulled in a win in the match against Pool Masters, can't do TOO much more than that. Can he defend next week? Doesn't happen often...
