Malditos Drop Hate On Loverz

Not. Even. Close. Kinda sloppy in the early few games too. Really could've gone either way but Malditos simply recovered quicker.

MLD_mld_alex_the.best - PZ_coyotesfan_45 - Well alex has the game won, and coyotesfan dead to rights but he blows the gimme 8ball shot! Coyotesfan leaves a long shot on the 5ball, his last solid, and misses THAT shot. He leaves a long shot on the 8, for the top left corner. Surely he won't miss twice on the 8 right? Wrong. Nobody seems to want to win. So coyotesfan's 5ball again. Makes but SCRATCHES! FINALLY alex wins and it's a 1-0 Maldito lead.

MLD_optimus.price - PZ_elkmstr675 - elk gets ball in hand late in this one with 5 easy solids as opposed to price's 1 stripe. Makes the 2 and 6 first on the same shot, doesn't make the 4 but sticks the cueball right behind the 7. He gets ball in hand again. This time he finishes, and ties it up at 1.

MLD_xl_gus_xl - PZ_highmarker420 - Pretty quick-moving game here. Highmarker tried to end it as quick as he could but couldn't run his solids. Gus turned it into his game, a conservative safety match waiting for marker to make the big mistake. Gus came rather close to sinking the 8ball early, and then underpowered trying to touch the 11-ball home to the top middle. Gus eventually goes for the win and succeeds, and gives MLD a 2-1 lead.

MLD_macaby_the_best@sbcglobal.net - PZ_tifabtx - Sloppy start, both players seemed to be a little off. Macaby backspins from the 5ball and makes tifa's 9 top right, while making his 5 in the bottom middle, it would ultimately lead to a safety. Macaby gets ball in hand. Makes the 4 top right and comes down to separate his 3-ball from the 13 and that leads to a... Glitch on the right-hand rail on the 8. Huge break for tifa, who chokes on an absolute gimme with the 13 right in front of the bottom middle. Wow. Only a cuebank for macaby with the 8ball right in front of the top right pocket. He goes off the left rail, catches a bit of the top rail past the middle pocket, and gets the 8ball to fall home. It's a 3-1 Malditos lead.

MLD_lll_n0_lll - PZ_shootalready69 - Shoot not expecting to play, didn't play like it. With Jeanna looking to him for a save, he runs 6 solids, but gets the cueball right under the 1-ball and has no shot on the top left. Soooo you just do what anyone else would. He points, fires, off the top, left, bottom rails and the 1 goes top middle! So after that the long 8ball shot would be easy right? Nope, THAT hangs top right! n0 goes on to win, Malditos clinch at 4-1.

Malditos win 6-1, they improve to 7-2 and sit just 2 games back of PoolFiction. PFN won 5-2 over the Pool Legends, improving to 9-0 and securing at least a Playoff spot of some kind, it cannot be any worse than the #4 seed as well. Pool Legends drop to 5-4, they're 4 games back but mathematically still alive. PFN could clinch no worse than 3rd, potentially, next week.

Pool Loverz drop to 3-6 on the season (just a half-game back of 5th), ensuring us a 3-way tie at that record at the end of Thursday. 2-6 teams meet up with True Pool Legends and Lucky Shots play, and then 3-5 teams clash in the form of BritPool and Straight Shots.

As for tiebreakers at the moment, BritPool came in at #4 because they had beaten BOTH Straight Shots and Pool Loverz, and in the then-2-way tiebreak, SS had a win over the Loverz.

Meanwhile, Pool Loverz heave beaten Lucky Shots AND True Pool Legends, both by 6-1 scores. That REALLY bodes well for them heading down the stretch.

Also tonight, a little blurb about the AL to prevent an all-National League update, 8Ball Runners have also clinched a spot in the Playoffs. New Happy Pool has replaced the woeful Fookin Tuna league, they take over an 0-8 record essentially devoid of ANY playoff hope, but it's better than a Bye every week. They take on Cheap Shotz Thursday at 7, FOUR matches all at that exact same time.
