Mid-way!

...Almost. Still a whole 2nd half of the season coming up but first, there's week 7. Suddenly 8BR's match with CZ looks less and less attractive, with Cheap Shotz dropping matches to two of the AL's least successful teams. It's still the match of the week, however.

That's not what I care about, though. I said last week there would be a match in Week 14, where the winner gets into the Playoffs, and the loser doesn't. I expect MagicPool and NHP to make runs over the course of the season, but I don't think MP can stay concentrated on pool enough (I mean Jesus they had some kid get kicked for the season because he went on a tirade over losing round 1 in an insignificant tourney.) But I think they can piece it together enough to take shots at SS, BNR, and UNY in the middle of the pack.

And go figure... It's MP & Hew HappyPool in Week 14.

So how does this matchup play out on paper? Well, by the time the match actually happens, NHP may be the better team on paper. But regardless, Jane and co. have an uncanny ability to annoy the piss out of opponents, and it's intentional. It also works, somehow. They will get in your head, and they'll do the same to NHP this week and 2 months from now. IF this match is to have a chance at deciding the 5th spot, however... NHP HAS to win THIS week. They can't fall 2 matches back in dead last, and expect to make that up. MP will be a bit shaky, playing without Scotty for the first time, and lacking anybody truly spectacular. NHP is in the same boat. They have semi-decent players that aren't even playing up to THAT potential. Guys like pool_addict and Gonzy HAVE to step up and carry this team, or they'll sink.

This week, I like NHP to squeak one out 4-3. In Week 14, however, it'll be Magic Pool winning 5-2, getting in at #5, maybe #4 depending on how many ties we have to go through, in the AL Playoffs.
