Pool Legends hang on to #1
Battle near the top between the True Pool Legends and... Well... Pool Legends... This one was over in a flash.
PL_ooo_franchise_ooo - TPL_nwb - The first game of this one, it would be a slow one. Looked like Koty started trying to run, but couldn't, so the old-school rufferman decided to have a go. After making 3-ball bottom left, he JUST rolled a little too far to leave a shot on the 4, top right. He would safety, and hope it worked. Koty gets out of it, with a make no less, and has a relatively open table if he can make the next shot work. 9ball bottom middle, has to spin to a side to leave the rest of the shots, and does so. Goes for the 11 top middle, MISSES but he ends up getting a fluke safety out of it! Ruff gets out of it... And the very next shot, Koty drops the 8 early and PL leads it 1-0.
PL_life.steala - TPL_bleeding.grasshopper - So following the early 8, a slightly quicker game. Late in this one, Kalpz tries to safety, outnumbered 4-6. Leaves Kate (grasshopper) a shot on the 9 top left, but she has to cut it a bit... Can't get it, but results in another safety from Kalpz. After a missed bank, Kalpz just about had Kate beat... But she's able to play a safety of her own and get left with a decent running opportunity... If she can free up her 14-ball on the right side. Gets to that 14 as the last ball, but will have to bank just to reach it. She gives up ball in hand, wasn't even close. Despite having a decisive advantage, Kalpz was just incapable of putting Kate away through safeties for much of the game. Finally he does barely have enough room, with ball in hand, to make his final 2 shots, and the 8... PL leads 2-0.
PL_CRAZY_QUE - TPL_h2o.0nly - So far looking like PL will take this one and take #1 in the National League over Poolfiction (Next Monday 7PM by the way.) Kind of a typical game. Fairly slow, nobody running away early, and a lot of shots passed up to try and get an easier run. Day would make a key mistake, though, going for the bottom middle with crazy's 13-ball, gives up ball in hand with a miss. He'd try to make Day's solids without fouling, but THAT missed too! Que gets ball in hand, and goes to work. ALMOST scratches bottom middle after making the 15 top right, but lips out and around his 13 (same one Day missed, remember...) Pushes that 13 home, leaves enough for a shot on the 14, spins back for the 8 and PL is on the hill... 3-0.
PL_darkinc87 - TPL_cataphrakt - Tap break for this one, from cataphrakt (herein called efc.) We'd be here awhile. efc does get dark cornered a bit, even though the ball count was even. They were mostly in the bottom right corner. Later in the game, he does get out of that predicament, but has to make the 5 top left, while spinning back to free up his 3-ball... BANG he got it! 3 goes, 8 goes, PL goes to 4-0, and clinch this match. They are #1.

PL wins it 5-2, improving to 7-2. They play Poolfiction next week, again with #1 on the line. If PFN wins 4-3, it'll eventually come down to win/loss record should they remain tied at the end, anything better results in Poolfiction holding the tiebreaker advantage.
TPL drops to 6-3, and behind Poolfiction in the tiebreaker, so they're 3rd because of the 4-3 PFN win last month. They play DP next week... Who has an outside shot, with LS struggling, to steal the 5th spot in the Playoffs in a little over a month.
