Magic Pool Quits After Loss
About midway through the match, with the score 2-1 in Xtreme 8Ball's favor, Magic Pool's newest player g0dly_l3ank3r was in the process of beating u_got_no_skillz, which would have given Stephen his first loss this season. But simon.kitto, a spectator at the match, sent a message to the author of this article (a Major League Pool Admin,) asking whether or not a disqualification could occur if a player was caught at a training table during their game. When Simon's question was answered, he also looked for clarification on post-game DQs.
A screenshot was taken the first second it was available, showing g0dly_l3ank3r at training table #15, while also playing his game at the MLP table, #8.
After a length delay which saw the match's referee, leafed_leafs abandon the match, and the Admin on duty brownie_2oo1 suffering from connection issues, the screenshot was sent in and the game was overturned. Dina cited rule #14 under MLP's Game-specific rules, which states: "You must NOT be seated at any training table whilst playing any MLP game. Any player found seated at a training table whilst playing in a game will be disqualified."
The decision was protested by MP Captain xlx_skill_xlx. Jordan argued that the means to make the DQ had been made available well after the match had concluded. The fact remains, however, that connection and technical difficulties had caused the delay. Simon, the former Interim Head Admin of Pro Players Association, Admin in UIC, and last season's Outstanding Umpire Award winner, apologized to Jordan for mentioning the infraction to anyone.
Jordan won the following game, bringing his team back within 1. During the game, he took shots at the opposing team and one of the Admins, threatening that if anything was done to him, Magic Pool would leave MLP. Jordan's next call was for everton------e.f.c@sbcglobal.net to play. However, Dina would not allow Danny to play.
Previously in the match, during the DQ controversy, everton had argued against the pending decision in all caps. After he was told to drop the caps, and let the admins settle the situation, he made multiple inappropriate comments to the admins. Dina removed him from the match, meaning that he could not return at all as per her warning to both captains before the match - any player booted from the table will not return, playing or not.
When Dina's decision not to allow Danny to play was made final, Jordan forfeited the remainder of the match, and withdrew Magic Pool from MLP. Jordan also made his choice clear on the MLP website. His quote before immediately afterward leaving the table was: "Admins, please pull MP out of MLP. We are done." Jordan also went on to wish MLP Admins luck in finding a league that would not mind taking over with a 4-2 match record, with wins over Pool Fiction and Sexy Poolerz to its credit.
Magic Pool Head Admin, and Co-Captain man.killer01 was unavailable at the time for comment or confirmation. But it is expected that her Captain's decision will stand, as now in order for Jane to overturn his choice, MLP Admins will need to make their own decision: Allow Magic Pool to rejoin MLP, or accept one of the late requests to join the interleague which came in shortly after the season started. The other option, of course, is to accept one of the few leagues which were initially turned away.
