New Off-Season Competition For MLP

Major League Pool has unveiled a second competition to take place after the 7 vs. 7 season ends.

MLP will be hosting a 5 vs. 5-carry mini-season between an undecided number of leagues during the off-season. The number is expected to be around 8 or 10 leagues. MLP Admins approved the idea at a meeting Friday evening, but full details have not been finalized.

The 5 vs. 5 comes as some players begin to miss Pro Players Association, which used the same format for numerous seasons with fair success. Major Pool Interleague has tried to replace the now-defunct interleague with a similar format, but not even two weeks into the season numerous leagues have dropped out.

So as MLP tried to provide a 5v5-carry competition for leagues, Admins have also discussed using the extra mini-season as a test run for making Season 14 all-cam. With numerous players, including two Magic Pool players and a Sexy Poolerz player being caught up in aimer controversy, merely making suspicious players play on cam doesn't appaear to be worth the trouble. It's still unknown what this will do to MLP's policy of banning any player caught with an aimer anywhere, so long as the incident is reported reasonably recent, and not held over the player's head and revisited weeks or months later.

A signup application will follow soon on the MLP main page, and more details will be made available through the second half of the current 7v7 season.
